Dear Alumni, Parents, and Friends of Archbishop Williams,

As I sit down to write this letter I’m filled with immense pride and gratitude for the strong values Archbishop Williams High School (AWHS) has always represented, the outstanding results it has produced, and the lofty legacy we continue to build together. These thoughts are particularly meaningful this year as we mark and celebrate 75 years of faith-filled education, during which our students have thrived intellectually, spiritually, ethically and physically, and our alumni have gone on to consequential, value-filled, successful lives. For these reasons and more, I could not be more excited to share this momentous occasion with all who have played such an important role in our school’s success.

LEADERSHIP The Foundation of Our Past, Present and Future

In a special way, we pause to reflect on our shared commitment to the mission of Catholic education and how it shapes every aspect of our community. Whether in our daily prayers, school Masses, retreats, or community service projects, our Catholic identity is not just a part of what we do —it is who we are.

Moreover, there is another common theme to our past and present which will remain vital to our bright future: leadership. From our founding to the dynamic school we are today, strong, visionary leadership has been a cornerstone of everything we do. It has guided us through decades of growth, innovation, challenges and success, and remains critical to our mission to educate and graduate young men and women who will, in turn, take the baton and lead by living lives of faith, integrity, and compassion.

AWHS opened its doors on September 12, 1949, under the able, dedicated leadership of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth. Their Order’s motto, “The love of Christ drives us on,” became the guiding force behind their mission and our school. Their leadership was not about authority, but rather about service. The Sisters taught by example, demonstrating that true leadership is rooted in love, humility, and the desire to make the world a better place, one person, one student at a time. Their motto inspires us to this day, as we too strive to lead by selfless example. Thus, “The love of Christ” truly does continue to drive us onward, shaping the hearts and minds of every student who walks through our doors.

From its inception, AWHS was quickly recognized as a leader in Catholic pedagogy. Families choose our school because they know we provide an education grounded in

values, evidenced by innovative programs, the quality of our faculty, the service we provide to those in need, and the success of our students and alumni. Moreover, they appreciate that we are constantly adapting to meet the needs of today’s learners to prepare them for college and for life, and equip them with the tools they need to lead with confidence and character.

As important, at AWHS leadership is not something reserved for a select few— rather, it is a skill that we endeavor to instill in every student.

In the classroom, our teachers challenge students to think critically, to engage in meaningful discussions, and to take ownership of their education. We encourage them to ask questions, seek out new perspectives, and take the initiative in their learning. Through this process, our students learn that leadership is about more than just achieving academic success—it’s about making thoughtful decisions and being accountable for one’s actions.

On the athletic field, leadership takes the form of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. Our student-athletes learn that being a leader means putting the needs of the team above their own, working harder still when the going gets tough, and always showing respect for the game and their opponents.

In the community, our students are encouraged to live out their faith by serving others, as leadership through service is one of our core values. Indeed, all of our

students are actively involved in outreach programs, service trips, and local volunteer efforts. They make a real difference by helping those in need, and in so doing, they are also helping themselves.

AWHS has thrived over the last 75 years because of the leadership of so many on whose broad shoulders we stand, from the Sisters of Charity who set the foundation, to the lay faculty, staff and administrators

“As we celebrate the 75th anniversary of Archbishop Williams High School, one word continues to resonate throughout our community: leadership. From our founding in 1949, to the dynamic school we are today, leadership has been the cornerstone of everything we do.”

who inherited their mission and have carried it forward. And to our alumni—leaders in their professions, in their parishes, and in their families—who are shining examples of the lasting impact of an AWHS education. We honor their achievements and recognize the vital role they play in supporting our mission with their input, volunteerism and philanthropy.

Now, as we plan for our school’s future, we are both energized and excited by the growth AWHS has experienced for more

than a decade. This expansion is a sign of the trust that families still place in us to provide a nurturing educational environment in which their children can reach their full potential. In order to maintain and leverage off this position of strength; to honor the faith our students and families have placed in us; and, to remain true to our mission, we must work to ensure our school’s long-term financial viability and flexibility. We are well positioned to do just that.

In summary, we have been truly blessed by the leadership that has delivered AWHS to this significant anniversary. At the same time, we look ahead with confidence grounded in experience that for the next 75 years our school, as a beacon of Catholic education, will continue to develop and produce generations of impactful leaders.

Working together as a school community we can ensure the best is yet to come. So, let us commit to leading with the same courage, compassion, and conviction that the Sisters of Charity displayed so lovingly and so well back in 1949. We owe their endowment that much and more.

Thank you for being part of this wonderful journey.

With gratitude and blessings,

Meet Our Academic Hall of Fame Inductees

Heather Magliano Bates ’95

Heather Magliano Bates of the Class of 1995 was inducted into the AWHS Academic Hall of Fame in recognition of her outstanding performance at AWHS and for her important contributions to the field of education.

A dedicated student, Heather made the Dean’s List every term, and was inducted to the National Honor Society. She served on the Student Council and the Admissions Council, and was a Class Officer, a Peer Minister and a Service Committee team member. She also sang in the concert and liturgical choirs, and starred in musicals with the school’s theater program.

A three-sport athlete, Heather’s superior skill and achievements on the basketball court earned her both league all-star and local media all-scholastic recognition. At Commencement she received both the President’s Education Award and the prestigious Patricia Geary Smith Award for excellence in academics and athletics.

Heather graduated from St. Anselm College in 1999 with a Bachelor’s degree in English and a minor in education. She secured a faculty position at Silver Lake High School in Kingston, Massachusetts, and while teaching full-time, completed her Master’s Degree in Education and Integrated Studies from Cambridge College in 2003.

Now in her 25th year of teaching at Silver Lake, Heather has been fully involved with the school’s offerings. She teaches English, Film Studies and a Theater class, and is on numerous faculty committees, including the National Honor Society Induction Council and its Teacher Mentoring Program.

Heather’s passion for basketball continued at Silver Lake, where she coached their girls’ JV and Freshman basketball teams for several years.

She is also a volunteer head coach with Duxbury girls youth basketball. Her most cherished role, however, is coaching the Silver Lake Unified Basketball Team, which gives developmentallychallenged students access to the game of basketball.

Heather was inducted into our school’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 2015 for her outstanding basketball exploits. With this induction into our Academic Hall of Fame, she becomes only the second woman to be so honored.

John F. DiPersio, M.D., Ph.D. ’69

Dr. DiPersio, a member of the Class of 1969, was inducted into the AWHS Academic Hall of fame in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the fields of science and medicine.

John entered AWHS in the Fall of 1965. Inspired by his father’s work in the U.S. Air Force, he studied diligently in the hope of pursuing a career in aeronautics. He also honed his leadership skills serving on the Student Council, and was elected Senior Class President.

John was a four-year member of the Tennis team, which he captained as a senior. He played hockey all four years at AWHS and was a key contributor to three tournament teams, and to the school’s first South Shore League championship.

After graduation, John matriculated to Williams College and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Biology in 1973. He received his M.D. and a Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of Rochester in 1980 before doing his internship and residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Texas, where he became Chief Resident. He completed his fellowship in the Division of HematologyOncology, UCLA School of Medicine, where he became Assistant Professor. In 1990 he returned to the University of Rochester School of Medicine

as Assistant Professor of Oncology before moving to Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri four years later.

Today, Dr. DiPersio is the Chief of Oncology at Washington University School of Medicine, where he is the Virginia E. and Samuel J. Golman Professor of Medicine. He is also the Deputy Director of the Siteman Cancer Center and Director of the Washington University Center for Gene and Cellular Immunotherapy. His research focuses on leukemia and stem cell biology. Under his direction, Washington University has become one of the largest divisions of oncology in the world.

In addition to his work with Washington University, Dr. DiPersio has co-founded two biotechnology companies which, between them, have developed three FDA-approved drugs now being used to help people around the world.

It was an honor to induct Dr. DiPersio into the AWHS Academic Hall of Fame.

Ellen Kane Kelly, MSW, LICW ‘70

Ellen Kane Kelly was inducted into the AWHS Academic Hall of Fame in recognition of her significant work in the field of Psychotherapy and Clinical Social Work.

At AWHS, Ellen was regularly on the Dean’s List, was a member of the National Honor Society, wrote for the Touchstones literary magazine, was a general editor and copywriter for the Crosier yearbook, and was selected to the Homecoming court.

Graduating 5th in the Class of 1970, Ellen matriculated at Harvard University. While pursuing a double major, she also found time to work part-time. She graduated Harvard magna cum laude with a double major in English and Psychology in 1974.

After graduation, Ellen had a short stint in Washington, DC working for U.S. Representative James O’Hara before joining her husband on an assignment in West Virginia where he worked in the U.S. Mining Enforcement and Safety Administration. The experiences of the mining families around her fueled her lifelong interest in social and economic justice, environmental issues, and advocacy for human rights.

Ellen returned to graduate school at Simmons College where she completed a degree in Clinical Social Work in 1981. She eventually settled at Harvard University Health Services as a senior staff psychotherapist. There, for 31 years, Ellen provided diagnostic, emergency and ongoing treatment to undergraduates, graduate students, faculty and staff in the on-campus health center. She was also Co-Director of the University’s Post-Graduate Social Work Fellowship Training Program. Ellen was honored with three “Harvard Heroes Service Awards” during her tenure.

We were honored to recognize Ellen’s accomplishments with her induction into the AWHS Academic Hall of Fame.

Hung J. Lam ’02

Hung Lam, a member of the Class of 2002, was inducted into the AWHS Academic Hall of Fame in recognition of his high academic achievements at Archbishop Williams and for his remarkable work in the fields of marketing, pharmaceuticals, and entrepreneurship.

Hung was born and raised in Dorchester, where his parents immigrated to in 1984. Ever mindful of the hardships his family had endured, Hung was driven to make the most of the opportunity to attend AWHS. He regularly made the Honor Roll and was a rare, two-year member of the National Honor Society. He was also active in the Student Council and Admissions Council, the Rally Committee and the Theater Program’s tech

crew. Hung’s peers voted him Student Council Secretary as a Senior, and voted him the Senior Superlative “Most Social.”

A three-sport athlete, Hung played football and basketball, and ran track all four years. He was named captain of the Football and Track teams as a senior.

Hung achieved a 4.14 GPA as a Senior and graduated in the top 10% of his class. His exemplary high school record earned him a full scholarship to Boston College, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Marketing in 2006.

Hung’s professional career has focused on the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries, where he specializes in sales and marketing. For the past six years Hung has been with Sanofi Corporation, one of the world’s leading healthcare companies. His superior expertise and accomplishments in the field of marketing have been recognized with a Circle of Excellence Award, a Marketing Excellence Award, and the prestigious Ascender Award.

In addition to his marketing role at Sanofi, in 2019 he teamed up with three BC friends and began the process of developing and franchising a quick service restaurant which they named “Playa Bowls.” What began as a side job with one restaurant strategically placed near the BC campus morphed in a few short years into nine locations and a plan to expand to 20 restaurants.

Ever grateful for his AWHS education, Hung continues to give back to the school, serving as a member of the AWHS Board of Trustees. It was our great honor to induct Hung into the AWHS Academic Hall of Fame.

Meet Our Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees

Kevin Morris ’91

Kevin Morris, a member of the Class of 1991, was inducted into the AWHS Athletic Hall of fame in recognition of his outstanding performance on the school’s Cross Country and Track and Field teams.

During his freshman year at AWHS, Kevin got hooked on long-distance running. In all, Kevin would go on to win 10 varsity letters at AWHS, four in Outdoor (Spring Track) and three each in Cross Country and Indoor (Winter) Track.

During his sophomore year, Kevin literally and figuratively “hit his stride” when he won the Catholic Central League (CCL) freshman/ sophomore 2-Mile championship. That year, he was also part of a historic trifecta—the Cross Country, Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field teams all went undefeated. That accomplishment has never been matched.

Kevin was a dominant runner his junior and senior years. He was named captain of both the Cross Country and Track teams as a senior. In Cross Country he was a two-time CCL All-Star and Patriot Ledger All-Scholastic, and finished first or second in all team dual meets. He set course records at Arlington Catholic, Cardinal Spellman and Matignon, and finished in the top five at the CCL championship. He then competed successfully at both the State Class 4 Meet and the All-State Meet.

In Track and Field, Kevin’s primary events were the 1-Mile and the 2-Mile runs. He was a Greater Lynn League All-Star and 1-Mile champion. He held records in both the 1 and 2-Mile events, competed at the State Class Meet, and was an All-State qualifier.

After graduating from AWHS in 1991, Kevin went to Fitchburg State College, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Human Services in 1995. He went on to receive his master’s degree in Business Administration from Suffolk University in 2006. Over the following years he rose to high-level leadership positions in the life and

senior care industry. Today he is the President and CEO of BaneCare Management. As such, he is responsible for the daily operations of ten skilled nursing facilities and two assisted-living facilities employing approximately 2,000 employees. He is also a Board member of the South Shore Health System and the Massachusetts Senior Care Association.

We were honored to induct Kevin into our Athletic Hall of Fame.

Kelsey McCarthy, a member of the Class of 2011, was inducted into the AWHS Athletic Hall of Fame in recognition of her outstanding performance as a soccer player at Archbishop Williams.

Coming from a long line of AWHS alumni, Kelsey made her family proud as a successful studentathlete and outstanding member of the school community. She made the Honor Roll consistently, and earned a coveted place in the National Honor Society. She was also a dedicated member of the school’s Peer Ministry program.

Sports were an outlet and a primary motivator for Kelsey in high school. Her senior classmates voted her “Most Athletic,” a well-earned honorific as she participated in track and field, basketball, softball and swimming. But it was on the soccer pitch where she shone most brightly. By the time she arrived at AWHS, Kelsey was already an experienced player and made the varsity team as a freshman.

Kelsey was a star midfielder at AWHS. She was the team’s MVP in 2008, 2009 and 2010, and was named team captain as a junior. She was a three-time Catholic Central League All-Star, a 3-time First Team Eastern Massachusetts All-Star, a three-time Massachusetts All-State Soccer Team selectee, and a three-time Patriot Ledger All-Scholastic.

Upon graduating from AWHS in 2011, Kelsey attended Northeastern University on a full

athletic scholarship, and played all four years in the Huskies’ D1 women’s soccer program. During her time as a Northeastern varsity athlete, Kelsey discovered her passion and talent for powerlifting. She would become a two-time National Collegiate Powerlifting Champion, the 2016 International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) University Cup Gold Medalist, and the NCAA record holder for squat and total weight.

Kelsey graduated from Northeastern with a degree in Physical Therapy and a minor in Psychology, and continued on to earn her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from NU. Today, she treats a wide variety of patient populations, working with athletes of all levels and helping them return to their area of athletic competition and day-to-day activities.

Kelsey has continued to pursue her passion for powerlifting. She is a four-time IPF Open World Champion, the 2022 World Games silver medalist, the 2021 IPF Open Worlds bronze medalist, a two-time world record holder, a four-time National Powerlifting Champion, four-time USA Open National Powerlifting Team member, and a two-time USVI Open National Powerlifting Team member.

It was our great honor to induct Kelsey into the AWHS Athletic Hall of Fame.

Meredith Coakley ’11

Meredith Coakley was inducted into the AWHS Athletic Hall of Fame in recognition of her outstanding performance coaching our girls varsity soccer team.

Meredith took to soccer at a young age and would eventually play at Marian High School, earning the respect of her teammates and coaches. She was named Assistant Captain her junior year, and a Co-Captain as a senior. A three-time Catholic Central League (CCL) All-Star, she was voted the number five player in the league as a junior, and the number three player her senior year. Moreover, her elite status was acknowledged

Kelsey E. McCarthy, DPT ’11

beyond the CCL. She was also a two-time EMASS All Star, and was named “All New England” as a senior.

Meredith matriculated to Sacred Heart University in 1993, where she was a four-year starter on the women’s soccer team. She captained the team her senior year and was selected to play in the New England Women’s Intercollegiate Soccer Association Senior Bowl. She finished her career number three all-time in number of games played for the Pioneers.

After graduating from Sacred Heart in 1997, Meredith was hired by AWHS to coach the school’s girls soccer team. She faced an uphill battle her first year at AWHS. The soccer program had only won two games the year before, and there were barely enough players to field a junior varsity team. Thanks to Meredith’s guidance, encouragement and persistence, within a couple of years the girls’ skill level had improved, the program had grown and the team was experiencing significant success.

In her 12 years at AWHS, Meredith had a coaching record of 118 wins, 94 losses and 30 ties, and her teams qualified for the state tournament in 9 of 12 seasons. They won the EMASS Division 3 South Sectional Championship, earning a spot in the state semifinals in 2002, ’03 and ’04.

Meredith was a member of the Eastern Massachusetts Soccer Coaches Association from 1998-2004 and from 2006-2009, and was the CCL at-large reporter from 2006-2009, compiling statistics for the League member schools. She was named EMASS Division 3 Coach of the Year in 2004.

Since leaving AWHS, Meredith has coached varsity soccer at Marian High School, volunteered as a soccer coach for the Special Olympics, and has coached for the Natick Soccer Club. She has also coached the “Spirit of Massachusetts” girls club soccer team, and is a volunteer board member for Natick Youth Football and Cheer.

We were honored to induct Meredith into the AWHS Athletic Hall of Fame.

Justin L. Harrington ’70

Justin Harrington, a member of the Class of 1970, was posthumously inducted into both the AWHS Athletic and Academic Halls of Fame in recognition of his superior academic achievements at Archbishop Williams and beyond, for his outstanding athletic accomplishments, and for his impressive career at the highest levels of the advertising industry.

Justin enrolled in AWHS as a ninth grader in 1966. He excelled academically, athletically and socially at AWHS. A regular member of the Honor Roll, he was a strong, all-around student, but especially enjoyed and excelled in English and History.

Justin was a member of the National Honor Society, sat on the Student Council and was a member of the Key Club. He was also a member of the Glee Club, and as a Senior was part of a small ensemble who sang at all school liturgies.

When he enrolled at AWHS, Justin was already known as a talented athlete in the city of Quincy where he had played football, basketball, and baseball at a high level. AWHS Coach Armond Colombo recognized Justin’s talent and invited him to try out for the varsity team as a freshman. He not only made the team, but also started every game at defensive back.

From his sophomore through his senior year, Justin started both ways (offense and defense) for AWHS. He was elected captain of the team as a junior and a senior, and was a multi-year Catholic Conference All-Star and a Patriot Ledger All-Scholastic.

The same strength and agility that Justin exhibited in football also translated well to track and field, and in particular to the shot put event. He quickly became a leading performer in that sport as well. The team won back-to-back State Class championships his junior and senior years, thanks in part to the high scores Justin was able to achieve.

Justin proudly enrolled in Harvard in the Fall of 1970 and played football four years for the Crimson, winning the distinguished Henry Lamar Award as a senior. He graduated cum laude from Harvard in 1974 with a bachelor’s degree in English, and earned his MBA in Marketing from Columbia in 1976.

From there, Justin embarked on a stellar, thirty six-year career in advertising. He spent the early years of his career honing his skills at firms such as Ogilvy & Mather, Hill Holliday, Saatchi and Saatchi, and Ted Bates. Later he assumed leadership roles at IPG New York, Saatchi and Saatchi Wellness, and Ogilvy CommonHealth Consumer Care, providing clients with strategic partnership and strong creative leadership.

The industry recognized his talent and achievements and awarded him multiple honors. With his beloved New York Times team Justin won the “Gold Lion at Cannes Award,”—the advertising industry’s highest honor. He was also the recipient of a Gold Effie Award, considered a global symbol of achievement.

Justin’s colleagues affectionately remember him as “the Professor” for his mentoring, team building and genuine interest in launching and guiding their careers. Perhaps even more importantly, they recall the importance he placed on time with family. He was a devoted husband and a proud, doting parent.

Justin passed away suddenly in March 2012. His wonderful legacy lives on today through his wife Mary, his children, their spouses, and his grandchildren, as well as through all those whose lives he touched and positively impacted.

We were honored to induct Justin into both our Athletic and Academic Halls of Fame. He is only the tenth alumnus to be so honored, and only the second (Jack McGrory ’67) to be inducted at the same ceremony.

Commencement 2024

Valedictorian Ethan Ridings (Norwell)

“ This school and community has taught me not to shy away from my problems, not to give up when things seem overwhelming, not to let life pass me by. My parting advice to my fellow graduates is to not be overwhelmed by the challenges and problems that we will face, but rather to have the courage to address them head on.”

Ethan is enrolled at the University of California (Berkeley) majoring in Environmental Science and Policy.

Salutatorian Noah Alverange (Brockton)

“ I want to encourage you all to be grateful for your everyday lives instead of just special occasions. What I am truly grateful for today are the new relationships I’ve formed, the learning experiences I’ve had inside and outside the classroom, and the personal growth I’ve undergone with the guidance of both the school and my peers over the past four years.”

Noah is enrolled at the University of Massachusetts (Amherst) majoring in Health Sciences.

Senior Class President

Eliana Jackson (East Bridgewater)

“ I hope when you look back on your time spent here at Archies, you remember everything you’ve accomplished. I hope you all find the same kind of unwavering support and motivation throughout your lives, and strive to achieve even more than what you believe is your best.”

is enrolled at Emmanuel College.

Commencement Speaker Leonard Pepe ‘71

“ Do what you do best and build upon it. Push hard within your talents. Recognize what they are and make them better!”

Alumnus Len Pepe’s Heartfelt Address to the Class of 2024

In an emotional and humorous commencement address, Archbishop Williams alumnus Len Pepe, Class of 1971, captivated graduates, families, and faculty with memories, personal advice, and enduring values that reflect the AWHS spirit. Pepe recounted his family’s deep ties to the school. His father, Nick Pepe, a WWII Air Corps navigator and long-time AWHS trusted financial advisor, played an instrumental role in the school’s growth. Len’s mother, Lee, originally from Louisiana, also became a committed community member, serving as the AWHS assistant librarian for over 20 years.

Pepe’s speech challenged graduates to prioritize their strengths, embrace technology, and start with small acts to make a positive impact in the world. He shared practical advice, including being indispensable in one’s profession, blending human connection with digital tools, and fostering happiness in the workplace. Emphasizing the importance of leadership, Pepe encouraged graduates to lead with integrity, humility, and a sense of purpose.

In closing, Pepe emphasized the irreplaceable role of family. He left graduates with one vital daily task: to reach out to their grandparents whenever possible, underscoring the legacy of family and love that defines the Archbishop Williams community.

The Williams Award

The 2024 Williams Award Winner Evan O’Brien

This Award, our most prestigious, goes to the graduating Senior who, in the judgment of the school’s Faculty and Administration, best exemplifies the “final product” of an Archbishop Williams education. The hallmarks of The Williams Award recipients include students who strive to reach their potential in the classroom and out; who recognize their strengths and challenges, capitalizing on the former and mitigating the latter; who are comfortable with themselves and desirous of learning all they can about the world of others; who give of themselves to those in need; who demonstrate loyalty to all those people, entities, and causes they hold valuable; and who are terrific representatives of Archbishop Williams throughout their time here.

The Class of 2024 recipient of The Williams Award was Evan O’Brien. Evan, a resident of Randolph, excelled in the classroom, on the Cross Country and Swim teams, in the Technical Theatre program, and as an Admissions Intern. He matriculated to San Diego State University to study Marketing. We know he will go on to do great things!

Calling All Alumni: Class

Agents and Class Notes

Interested in representing your class or connecting with your Class Agent? Class Agents are invaluable liaisons, collecting life updates and achievements from classmates. These dedicated agents keep your class connected, keep our community strong, and ensure that each milestone is celebrated with fellow alumni. If you have questions about submitting class notes, connecting with your Class Agent, or becoming an agent, contact Kathy Keefe at kkeefe@awhs.org or 781-843-3636 x 3013.

Use this QR Code to share your latest updates—whether it’s an engagement, wedding, new addition to the family, graduation, promotion, retirement, or any other exciting milestone. Class notes help capture the spirit of our AWHS community, strengthening the ties among all our Bishops.

Check Out Our New Website: AWHS at Your Fingertips

In September of 2024, AWHS launched a new and improved version of its website! Be sure to visit the new Alumni page under the “Community” tab of the main website (QR Code below) where you can read The Bishops Ledger online, find information about upcoming reunions, identify your class agent, view yearbooks online, see our Hall of Fame inductees, or request transcripts.

Fueling Our Future with the Power of Giving

Whether it’s a one-time gift, a matching gift through your employer, or a planned estate gift that leaves a lasting legacy, there are many ways to support Archbishop Williams High School. Every contribution, regardless of size, strengthens our community and directly impacts our students’ lives. If you’re considering a planned or endowed gift, or have questions about other ways to give, our dedicated advancement team is here to assist you in fulfilling your giving goals.

MAJOR GIFTS

Donations of $10,000 or more are critically important to funding capital improvement projects and/or establishing new academic, extra-curricular or athletic programs. Naming opportunities are available at specific levels.

THE WILLIAMS FUND

The Williams Fund, our annual fund, represents unrestricted dollars that directly support the school’s operating budget. These essential funds are used to meet current operating expenses, support student financial assistance, enhance student programs and services, and maintain the physical plant.

PLANNED GIVING

The Bishops Legacy Society

The future of Archbishop Williams can be significantly enhanced by alumni, parents, grandparents, and friends who include the school in their wills or trusts. Such “planned gifts” cost the donor nothing during their lifetime, yet can have a lasting impact at AWHS. The following are examples of planned gifts:

• Cash Bequest

• Property Bequest

• Life Insurance

• Real Estate

• Securities

• Trusts

Giving to one of our Named Scholarship funds at Archbishop Williams High School is a powerful way to support students while honoring a specific legacy.

Each named scholarship fund has its own unique mission and criteria, designed to celebrate students who excel in academics, athletics, leadership, service, or other areas meaningful to the scholarship’s purpose. By contributing to a named scholarship, you provide deserving students with financial support that enables them to access the exceptional opportunities AWHS offers.

Our Mission Statement Archbishop Williams High School is an independent, Catholic, college preparatory, grades 7-12 school. We endeavor to educate young men and women spiritually, intellectually, ethically, and physically. Driven by the love of Christ, in the tradition of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, we integrate learning with faith. We strive to graduate socially aware, morally responsible citizens prepared to succeed and to serve their local and global communities.
