ALBURY Council hopes to improve the Wonga Wetlands in a bid to attract tourists to the area. The council will undertake a study into the area and look at possible development opportunities for the natural attraction. Speaking at the official opening of upgrades to the visitor information centre at Albury station, council’s director of economic development and tourism Tracey Squire said work on a master plan could start around September. “We want to see what opportunities we can look at there to again raise the quality of the offer at Wonga Wetlands and what it offers to visitors when they come to town,� she said. “It’s very much a desktop analysis of what exists there at the moment and what opportunities there are to add value to that and to utilise the whole area of land that AlburyCity owns there.� Ms Squire said the master plan would take into account current uses at the wetlands and look at what was happening at other wetlands around Australia. “It could potentially take nine months to do depending on who we engage to do the work,� she said. “It won’t be rushed, put it that way.� Council can now focus on the Murray River experience following the upgrades to the visitor information centre, which were officially unveiled on Monday. “Construction of the Wagirra Trail continues for the next two years and that will be linked all the way to Wonga,� Ms Squire said. “Not only will you be able to ride your bike off road all the way to Wonga Wetlands, when you

get there, the idea is that there’s a better experience at the end, building on the good things that are already there.� Mayor Alice Glachan said the completion of the visitor upgrades, which added more parking, waste dump facilities and a new entry to the area, was positive for tourism. “It’s good for Albury and the region,�she said. “It offers an opportunity to enhance what is truly a beautiful historic precinct. “By being able to open this up, more people will be able to appreciate the wonderful opportunities that we have here and it will assist in enticing people passing through to stop and stay in Albury and our region. “This will be an opportunity to showcase what we can offer.� A council report recently found more people were visiting Albury on day trips, but visitor night stays have slightly declined. The report found most people visit for holidays, followed closely by those visiting friends and relatives, while about 20 percent visit for business.

AN ELDERLY Albury resident says he is devastated after losing almost everything in a house fire. Ronald Senior, 86, left an electric blanket on, sparking a blaze which gutted his uninsured David Street home. He had been using the blanket on a chair after being warned against using a faulty gas heater. In a lucky coincidence, Mr Senior was not at the home at the time of the blaze after suffering a fall and going to hospital the day before. His daughter Dayle Shields, who grew up in the home, said it contained the only photo of Mr Senior’s mother which had been destroyed. “He’s gone through the war, and now this happens,� she said. “It was lucky that he wasn’t there, because if he was then he wouldn’t be here. “It’s all gone.�

An extension on the back of the home, which contained Dayle’s wedding dress and valuable Star Wars memorabilia, was saved, but the home is now uninhabitable. Mr Senior had been staying with his daughter in the days following the fire and can’t afford to replace his belongings. “By the time he pays rates and food ‌ it’s hard for pensioners to survive,â€? Dayle said. The charred contents of the home have been sitting in Mr Senior’s front yard after friends and family helped clear out the house last weekend. It’s been tough for Mr Senior of late, having lost his wife Pauline around Christmas time. The grandfather was shocked when told of the fire, telling his daughter that she had “better be jokingâ€? and was visibly upset when surveying the damage. The home has been sealed off with tape warning against entering the site.

LAST week Wodonga council’s rates were in the spotlight. According to figures released residents pay more on average for their council rates than those in the ritzy Toorak suburb of Melbourne. Wodonga council responded with statements about the cost of growth in the city, including services, roads and other infrastructure such as the new Cube or pool. All these conveniences need to be created and maintained by council where the city suburbs don’t have such high-cost commitments. It all seems a little odd. Here we are hoping to attract city-dwellers looking for a tree change to grow our region but the costs in some areas can be somewhat higher. But take into account the added cost of buying a home, sometimes $300,000 extra or more in the city, the costs involved in transit to and from work, dropping the children at school or attending weekend sporting events or just the extra time it takes to move around the city and it all starts to sound a little more attractive here on the Border. We certainly aren’t short of facilities in this region, with quality sporting and entertainment venues and an abundance of shops and eateries with easy access, surely the envy of many city dwellers. To me it all comes down to where you want to raise a family and the convenience you desire in everyday living. I’ve raised two children through their teenage years on the Border and found the educational system to be up there with the best, job opportunities on par with other country regions and my children’s love of sport adequately catered for. Taking everything into account I feel certain extra costs of living in such a beautiful area are easily outweighed by the reduced costs and conveniences in other areas.

IT WAS the blockbuster match that almost never happened. But after a slow start, the showdown between former AFL heavyweights Barry Hall and Brendan Fevola was hailed a success. Despite rolling his ankle early in the first term, Hall kicked four goals in his debut with the Wangaratta Rovers, and Fevola – initially suspended, then allowed to play – finished with the same number. Wangaratta Rovers vice president and football operations manager Barry Sullivan said between 4000 and 5000 fans had watched the game, which made front page news in Melbourne. “It was a historic game,” he said. “It was definitely the biggest home and away game, not just for the Ovens and Murray, but for country footy. “Barry started off a bit rusty but he came good and is already looking forward to the next game. “He’s a bit of a country boy at heart and he enjoys the cama-

Mr O’Connor said fans would have to wait to see if the exposure would lead more AFL players to join the league in future seasons. “Having the two or three players in the league with a lot of AFL experience gives that experience back to country footy,” he said. Hall said he hoped to “get rid of all that rust and hopefully have a bit more of an impact” in coming weeks. “But I enjoyed today, it was good,” he said. The garage of the unoccupied Kemp Street home was badly damaged in the crash, but the 17-year-old Brocklesby driver and his three passengers were uninjured. If you’re anything like me it’s something you put off, not because there’s any fear involved but simply because life’s commitments seem to take a higher priority. But a recent push by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists Eye Foundation, RANZCO spurred me into action. RANZCO is currently running its annual month-long JulEYE campaign, urging all Australians to have their eyes checked. According to the latest Newspoll statistics two out of five Australians don’t have their eyes checked on a regular basis, and that’s despite the fact that 75 percent of vision loss is treatable or preventable if

A NEW Quest Apartments and tavern development should be open for business by June 2013. Construction of the $25m project, on the old Wodonga Scout Hall site, started recently and will offer 48 apartments, function areas, a bistro and public bar when complete. Co-developer Colin Joss said the project will employ about 100 people at its peak and generate 80 new jobs. “I think it is probably the catalyst for more developments in Wodonga,” he said. “Right next to the rail precinct here, which we know will be moving along soon, I guess we’re the first one in. “It will take the eateries of this area to another level.” The 4.5 star Quest Wodonga will primarily cater for corporate travellers. Wodonga Mayor Mark Byatt said there was

around $500m in investments “in the pipeline” for the city over the next one to five years. “What we’ve been able to realise today is a great economic outcome and a great community outcome for our city,” he said. “This particular project alone is in the order of 80 to 100 new jobs in our city and we’ve seen three years of record residential and population growth in our city, and now we’re starting to see some commercial and industrial growth which creates employment. “This is a significant development.” The project is a joint venture between Mr Joss and Bill Perry. Mr Joss said a function room in the 1300m2 tavern could hold up to 200 people. “This is a great development for the region, number one, it’s also a great development for Joss,” he said. He said he was confident the project would be completed on time.

Tricks and stunts at family circus CIRCUS Ringbarkus is drawing to a close. The 90 minute show, which features dog stunts, performing chickens, comedy and magic tricks, is the creation of the Stantons, a travelling circus family. Paul and Ruth Stanton roam the country with their sons Michael, 18 and Steven, 14, performing the show under a big top tent. For their sons, it’s the only life they’ve ever known. “I’ve never had to do anything else with my life so I’m really not sure what else to compare it to, but I enjoy it greatly,” Michael said. “I hope to perform for the rest of my life.” Ruth and Paul have performed

together for two decades, and their current show started in 1998. “We went on the road when we were expecting Steven, he’s 14 now,” Ruth said. “We enjoy it most of the time, we’ve had our ups and downs with our truck getting set alight recently, but we’re hoping this stand in Albury is a fresh start.” Ruth said there had been strong interest in the performances at the Albury Showground. “A lot of them have sold out but there are still tickets remaining.” Circus Ringbarkus will run at the Albury Showground until Sunday with daily shows at 11am. Bakers make waves By BLAIR THOMSON IT WAS a small incident which created a big scene. Staff at Thurgoona Bakery set off a sprinkler system in the store on Saturday night, filling the shop with water which overflowed into Thurgoona Plaza. About a dozen firefighters and three fire trucks responded to the incident. “There wasn’t any damage, just a hell of a lot of a mess,â€? Albury Central station officer Glenn Kimpton said. “It’s rare for the sprinklers to go off ‌ I haven’t been to one for ages. “The good thing is the sprinklers have done their job, they’ve worked like they’re supposed to.â€? The two bakery staff were cooking at the time, with the incident setting back their bread production several hours.

A RECENT nationwide report, the Westpac Lost Super Report has revealed Murray NSW has an estimated amount of $86,533,221 in lost super, a projected amount of $2,600 per person in the area. The findings coincide with the recent government announcement that the amount of lost super within Australia currently sits at $17.4 billion. Westpac retail state general manager New South Wales Sian Lewis said it should be a wakeup call for the community. “While their retirement might seem far away for many Australians, super is often the second largest investment in our lives,� she said. “Australians need to understand that lost super is real money that they are forgoing in retirement. “We know it’s quite easy to lose track of super when you change names, jobs or move house, however the benefits of tracking down your lost super are considerable.� Statistics suggest almost half of all Australians are likely to have lost super but only 5.6 percent know, and just over half who claim they have lost super have attempted to search for it. NSW drivers are now able to claim a 50 percent discount on their license renewals if they’ve had a good driving record for the last five years. “About 2.1 million motorists will be eligible for the cheaper licence out of 4.3 million unrestricted licence holders in NSW,� NSW Roads Minister Duncan Gay said. “Safe motorists, who obey the law, stick to the speed limits and do the right thing, should be rewarded for their contribution to road safety. THE RED Cross is helping older people remain connected with their community with a free daily phone call to check on their safety and well-being. The service enables older people to have the confidence to live in their own home knowing help is not far away in an emergency. It also provides a sense of security for family and friends. This Telecross program is run through a network of volunteers who make a daily morning phone call to socially isolated, medically dependent and older people living alone. If the phone call is not answered Red Cross initiates an emergency procedure and arranges assistance if required. From a small trial telephone club for a handful of home-bound residents in Adelaide, the Telecross service now provides a reassuring daily phone call to 5,000 isolated or elderly people in every state and territory. The service recently celebrated its 40th birthday.

Red Cross director of services and international operations, Michael Raper, says he is extremely grateful for all the support Telecross has received over the past 40 years. “I would like to extend a big thank you to every one of our thousands of Telecross volunteers around Australia and to the Commonwealth Bank for its very welcome support as we celebrate significant milestones for both organisations,” he said. “Volunteers are the backbone of Telecross programs, making 5,000 daily calls to people around Australia. The Commonwealth Bank’s general manager community, Trent Moy, said bank staff had been fully involved in the decision to support Telecross. FUNNY AS… Biddies is coming to Albury.

THERE will be no immediate increase in social housing rents due to the carbon tax according to Minister for Family and Community Services Pru Goward. But that will change in 2013 when the federal government’s clean energy payments, provided to offset the effects of the tax, will be taken into account for rental increases. The Clean Energy Supplement will provide regular assistance for low and middle income households to meet the impacts of carbon pricing on living expenses. The payment will be permanent and will increase over time. The NSW government says the carbon tax could cost social housing in NSW $50 million over a four year period and the rent increases will be required to help deliver maintenance and provide new properties. But research and policy officer for the Combined Pensioners and Superannuants Association of NSW, Amelia Christie said the inclusion of the pensioner carbon tax compensation in public housing rent calculations is a concerning move. “Pension supplements have always been quarantined from public and community housing rent calculations as they are paid for a specific purpose,” she said. “It is very concerning that the NSW Government has gone against this tradition, effectively robbing those in public housing of their entitlement. It’s a case of the federal government giving people a hand with the rising cost of living and the NSW government immediately snatching it away.”

Machines brought to life By BLAIR THOMSON A NEW exhibition opening at the Albury Art Gallery on Saturday (14 July) brings disused mechanical parts to life. Michael Laubli creates sculptures – some weighing up to 90kg – out of old car transmissions and engine parts, while Letizia Gavioli creates paintings which blend mechanical parts to form an image. “There’s a certain beauty in mechanical parts,” said Mr Laubli, who creates his works in his garage. “And it’s just a certain form, a certain shape that has a certain appeal. “You can have a lot of fun and find a lot of things, a lot of forms in mechanical parts.” Mr Laubli creates all manner of objects from the spare parts, from dragons through to large stands with polished wood. “We share a passion in mechanical

forms,” Mr Laubli said. “Letizia has worked with the gallery a lot of times before, but I’m very green, very new to this. “The gallery thought it would be a good idea for us to have an exhibition together. “The insights she’s given me and what she’s shown me through her work has just been amazing.” Ms Gavioli is an Italian native who moved to the Border earlier this year, and this is the first time the two artist have worked together. One of her works was presented to retired motorcycle racer Troy Bayliss, and the artwork at the upcoming exhibition was created over many years. Teddy bear movie will leave you bursting at seams By BLAIR THOMSON MOVIE: Ted (MA15+) DURATION: 106 minutes ANYONE who’s so much as glanced at Seth McFarlane’s cartoons will know exactly what to expect from his first feature film; politically incorrect jokes, pop culture and celebrity references, and quite a few laughs. Mark Wahlberg plays John Bennett, who starts the film as a lonely child who wishes his teddy bear would come to life. In a Christmas miracle, his wish is granted, and Ted springs to life as a cute, loveable companion, animated in the film using CGI. Jump forward almost thirty years and the guys are still best pals and still live together, and while they may have aged, they certainly haven’t grown up. Ted has turned into a bong smoking, beer swilling party animal (with a voice almost identical to Peter Griffin) and while John has a job and a girlfriend (Mila Kunis), he’s not exactly a high-achiever. Instead of looking at ways to better himself, John hangs out with Ted, talking rubbish and watching DVDs while his girlfriend waits patiently for him to sort his life out and pop the question. His unemployed teddy bear is holding him back and putting stress on his relationship. So to appease his housemates, Ted gets a job and moves into a flat but despite this, the two pals have a big falling out. While all this is happening, a middleaged creep played brilliantly by Giovanni Ribisi tries to lure Ted to his home to appease his demanding young son. Watching Ribisi swinging his hips to music videos is pure gold, while Patrick Warburton also raises a few laughs in his brief appearances. It does feel a bit too similar to Family Guy in parts, with McFarlane, Kunis, Warbuton and Patrick Stewart all featuring in both the cartoon and movie. But for the most part, Ted will leave you in stitches.

By BLAIR THOMSON THE WODONGA Brass Band is holding a fundraising concert as the group prepares to compete in the Victorian State Brass Band Championships next month. Formed around 1886, the band has close to 40 members ranging from teenagers to those in their 80s. Musical director Bruce Cook said Saturday’s gig at the Jazz Basement would put the pressure on the musicians. “It’s a warm up to the competition and gets them actually playing in public,” he said. “It’s part of their musical development and also reminds the people of Wodonga that they do actually have a brass band.” Mr Cook admits to being nervous ahead of his first outing as a conductor. “I’ve been around for a while and done a few things like theatre shows, but it’s a lot different to stand in front of 40 people and conduct them,” he said. “If you get it wrong, it goes very wrong. “But I think we’ll go okay. “We’re now rehearsing twice a week and on weekends in preparation.” The band will perform a range of Broadway tunes, a march, a hymn and various concert tunes. Mr Cook said the appeal of the

band was simple. “It’s just about making music,” he said. “I don’t take a lot of things seriously, but there are two things I do take seriously. “That’s music and family, and it’s kinda like a big family here. “It’s a big family of people that turn up once a week and we just play. “We want to raise a bit of money, raise some awareness, and we’d like to get a room full of people because the performers deserve it.” The band has been successful at the Victorian championships on four occasions since 1985, winning two D grade titles, once C grade title and a B grade title. “I played in three of those,” Mr Cook said, “ but this is my first go as conductor.” “We have policemen, land surveyors, people that work in the tax office, school teachers and a couple of young teenagers. “This will be their first outing to a pressure-filled contest so we’re really trying to get the standard up. “The better we get, the more we enjoy the music, so it feeds itself.” The band initiated the first Border Carols by Candlelight in 1976 and prides itself of catering for musicians from all walks of life. The study of 1500 Australians revealed only one in four (25%) couples is planning to tie the knot in a church, and the beach was the second most popular wedding location (20%). AMC president Keith Lammond said many couples felt uncomfortable pretending to have a religious belief in order to marry in a church. “Some even say they feel dishonest or hypocritical in considering a church wedding,” he said. “Instead, couples are seeing the appeal of having a personalised marriage in a location of their choice.” The result means the number of marriage celebrants across Australia has risen dramatically from 3,500 in 2003 to more than 10,000 in 2010. June rental market tightens THE REIV rental vacancy rate for the month of June showed that there has been a slight tightening of the rental market over the past six months. The vacancy rate recorded by the REIV for Victoria was two per cent in June and has averaged 2.1 percent over the first six months of the year compared to 2.6 percent in the last six months of last year. The vacancy rate recorded for Melbourne was 1.8 percent, down from 2.1 percent in May. The metropolitan rate also showed a slight decrease over the first six months of 2012 as the average vacancy rate was 2.1 percent compared to 2.8 percent in the last six months of last year. Using the most recent data on the number of rental homes in Mel-

bourne, the vacancy rate in June equates to around 4,600 vacant homes. The vacancy rate is based on properties managed by REIV member agencies. Within Melbourne, the outer suburbs continued to have the lowest vacancy rate, with one percent recorded compared to 1.1 percent in May. In both the middle and inner suburbs the vacancy rate was 1.9 percent. If this trend continues, there may be some upwards pressure on rents following the stabilising that occurred in 2011. The regional Victorian vacancy rate eased from 1.8 to 2.7 percent. This is a significant shift and reflects increasing vacancy rates in Geelong, Bendigo and Mildura.

Bandits continue impressive season while Lady Bandits take first victory By TREVOR JACKSON

TIME turned back Sunday afternoon when SEABL basketball returned to Wodonga Sports and Leisure Centre after a 27 year hiatus. And the Bandits turned it on for the home crowd with an emphatic 92-63 drubbing of Canberra after a solid 8774 win over Frankston Blues the night before, consolidating their fourth position on the south conference ladder. The Lady Bandits pulled up short on home soil but had just come off their first win for the season, a tight 63-58 victory over Frankston on the road. Alex Duck was again impressive with 19 points and seven rebounds, Nya Mason chipped in with 13 points while Maddi Plunkett also reached double figures with 11 points. But Sunday at home the girls were out-gunned, going down 80-50 to a strong Canberra outfit. The men’s games saw some quality scores racked up across the weekend with Jazzmarr Ferguson top scoring against the Blues with 31 points. Alex Opacic and and Mohamed Ntumba also contributed well with 20 and 15 points respectively. And it was Ntumba who stood up at home to lead all scorers with a doubledouble of 23 points and 19 rebounds. Nick Payne contributed 19 points while Ferguson added 17, and an impressive 11 assists.

They are the opponents, the players, they are the game! Every football supporter has a favourite player not in their team, a player you would love wearing your colours, a guy that you would go and watch regardless. It’s perhaps not widely acceptable to idolise a player from the opposition but sometimes it’s hard not to. Being a part of the football media I don’t support a particular team, and if I did I’d keep that in house. So as a neutral on-looker I have decided to give you, the reader an insight on just who is “my favourite martianâ€? in your team. Albury: Gee, it could be any one of about ten players. If I had to single anyone out I would have to go with Shaun Daly. The reigning Morris Medalist does much of the hard team things in close, and such is his composure and decision making he is never caught with the ball. Corowa Rutherglen: Shaun Mooney’s maturity and leadership is outstanding for his age. The young coach has been an amazingly positive inuence on his junior Roos. He can play in any position and is modest and unassuming. Lavington: Can’t go past the workhorse who is Matt Pendergast. He is unrelenting in his in-andunder work and a smart ďŹ nisher around goals. The interleague coach is a genius at centre clearances and to cap it off a bit of a lad off the ground. Myrtleford: Got to admire Luke Chapman’s loyalty. In an era where players come and go “Chappieâ€? has stayed strong for his beloved Saints. He always gets the big forwards and always gives his all for his club. North Albury: 2AY football listeners won’t be surprised at my favourite Hopper, skipper Dan Leslie. Dan the Man is a regular in the highlights reel with his high ying pack marks and his long 60 metre goals. Dan is a pure match winner. Wangaratta Rovers: Ryan Stone (The Cowboy) is an exciting young talent that’s always in the game. The lively forward is incredibly strong

overhead for his stature, and is a lively shark around goals. Wangaratta: Judd Porter is a ripper on and off the ďŹ eld. The Magpie mentor is one of the most reliable defenders in the game who reads the game like few others. This Rock of Gibraltar also brews his own beer ‌ SOLD! Wodonga: Pre-season I labelled Brett Doswell as the potential recruit of the year and he hasn’t let me down. Dos has been in everything for the Dogs, and his trademark foot skills are as good as any in the league. Wodonga Raiders: Ben Davies is a beauty. The former AFL player leaves you in awe when he takes on the game with his individual brilliance. His running goals have been a feature this season ‌ best described as WOW. Yarrawonga: It would be easy to go with Fev but something tells me he already has enough supporters. Tyler Bonat has taken all before him this season and is fantastic to watch. The hard running midďŹ elder is a great user of the ball, and such is his endurance that he is going as fast at the end of the game as he does at the start. This weekend’s selections: Whilst the ďŹ nal ďŹ ve appears to be set, we certainly have been educated this season to expect the unexpected. I am positive there will be an upset involving one of the Wangaratta teams ‌ but just which one I cant really say.

Local Sport A mixed bag but still in the top ten By TREVOR JACKSON

BRAD Jones Racing’s Fabian Coulthard has been prominent at the top end of the V8 Supercar field this season, currently sitting in ninth place in the driver’s championship despite a mixed weekend at the Townsville 400. A fourth place finish in Saturday’s race was the highlight of the weekend for the team after an average qualifying session. “We had a problem getting the tyres up to temperature for the one flying lap we got in qualifying, which we didn’t manage to do,” Coulthard said. “We qualified 13th, had good strategy and had the ability to pass a few cars.” While many of the other frontrunners in the field had made an early pit stop in the race and were in fuel-conservation mode, the strategy of the BJR team ensured its driver had power to spare towards the back end of the race. “When we pitted for the last stop I had to save a little bit of fuel so we chose to save the fuel early in the stint rather than at the end,” Coulthard said. “We got to a point and we knew we were okay and could make it to the end without a problem.” But of course the best laid plans

don’t necessarily evolve as such and Coulthard soon found Craig Lowndes closing fast in the dying laps of the race. Lowndes had pitted later than Coulthard and had superior grip and speed, but that didn’t bother the BJR driver. “You concentrate and you look forward; you don’t worry about what’s happening behind you,” he said. “He was about four seconds away so he wasn’t on my bumper. I knew I had a bit of breathing space and just had to hit my marks and do everything right. I was pretty confident he wouldn’t catch me.” Sunday’s race saw Coulthard taken out of contention after an incident involving Rick Kelly but his strong performances in the early part of the season have given him hope of better things to come. “I’m a bit disappointed … I think we could be sitting a lot more comfortable and a bit further up the field but ninth is not too bad,” he said. “Our first goals were to be in the top ten. Now we’re in the top ten, and quite comfortably and we’re looking for top fives and podiums. I think we’ve shown we’ve got the car speed so now we just need to have a little bit of luck on our side.”

Have fun, keep fit and learn to play By TREVOR JACKSON HITS and Giggles is a new phenomenon about to strike the Border. It’s designed to involve women in a healthy and fun fitness program through Squash Victoria and Wodonga Squash and Racquetball centre, whether they’ve previously played or not. With expert coaching on hand through program coordinator Elizabeth Lopes new women to the sports of squash and racquetball can be assured of receiving the best tuition to ensure they learn the fundamentals, but most of all enjoy the sports. Elizabeth said Hits and Giggles was as much about bringing women together and having fun as it was about overall fitness. “Vic Squash started this and I thought we

could come on board,” she said. “I met up with Fiona Young who is in charge of Vic Squash and she said they had a Hits and Giggles program and it sounded like my Tuesday morning comp. The ladies have got this real camaraderie … we come in and have a hit for about an hour, we play five games rather than the best of five and we have a laugh and have morning tea afterwards.” The Hits and Giggles program is all about social interaction but also to learn the games of squash and racquetball, maintain a level of fitness and a healthy lifestyle. The six-week program is run for those already involved in the games to beginners who may not know how to hit a ball. “We hope to get them up and running,” Elizabeth said.

“They have the basics for a couple of weeks, learning the stroke, holding a racquet and a few exercises. Hopefully after a few weeks they’ll be on board with our girls, having a hit and then they’re quite welcome to join our club.” Hits and Giggles begins Tuesday 24 July from 9.30am to 11.30am. The program runs for six weeks at a cost of $60 with morning tea supplied. Equipment is available to use or to purchase at competitive prices. For more information phone Elizabeth on 0428 299 036.
