Asian Masters Black Mountain hosts Asian Tour finale

HUA HIN, THAILAND Next Thursday, 16th December, sees the start of the second Black Mountain Golf Masters, which this year has the added prestige of EHLQJ WKH ÀQDO WRXUQDPHQW RI WKLV year’s Asian Tour. Last year’s event, won by Swede Johan Edfors, was a huge success, and this year’s promises to be an enthralling four days, which will feature 144 players, and the tournament winner will earn a two year exemption on the Asian Tour, widely regarded now as the third largest Tour in the world behind the PGA Tour and European Tour. The tournament will also be broadcast live over four rounds on the Asian Tour’s global television network which reaches to over 40 countries worldwide. The tournament’s prize fund has increased by US$100,000 to US$600,000, with this year’s

The inclusion of bulls to the list was rather misguided. Bulls don’t have the optical equipment to distinguish red from other colours, so the ‘red rag to a bull’ phrase gives the wrong impression. It is generally accepted that bulls are enraged by the waving of the cloth rather than its colour and that a green rag would work just as well.

Ashley At It Again Hughton replaced by 1972 Magpie annual

NEWCASTLE, ENGLAND NEWCASTLE United owner Mike Ashley yesterday predicted a new golden age for the club after replacing manager Chris Hughton with a battered copy of the 1972 Magpie annual (right).
