thousands to arrive in cha am for big bike rally
cha am, THAILAND Over three thousand motorbikes are expected to arrive in Cha Am during next week to attend the annual bike rally which will be held next to the Methavalai Hotel opposite the beach in Hua Hin’s near neighbour. According to local bikers, the rally is normally larger than the annual event in Hua Hin. The Diamond City MC is being held for the eighth time and motorbikes of all shapes and sizes will be on display as well as a huge array of food stalls, motorbike gear, parts, accessories, clothing and motorbike paraphernalia. The event is on Saturday 3rd November, and the festivities conclude with a night party of Live Music featuring superstar Thai entertainers and fireworks. Everyone is welcome, whether they are bikers or not, so take the family and and enjoy some Cha Am hospitality. One of AWOL’s partners, and official local contact in Cha Am, The Cha Am Pub and Restaurant is also offering a 10% discount off drinks to all MC Members on both Saturday and Sunday. san antonio, usa Woman ‘fakes own kidnapping to get day off work’ A woman in the US could be in hot water after being accused of faking her own kidnapping just to get a day off work. Sheila Bailey Eubank from San Antonio is believed to have gone to the rather extreme measure of kidnapping herself for a day off. However she claims that a man abducted her and forced her to drive him to various locations for what she says were drug deals. She also claims that the man assaulted her, tried to choke her with a rope, tied her up and left her in the car before a policeman on patrol eventually found her. However, officers have since found a lottery ticket that was purchased within the hours that she claims she was kidnapped, as well as CCTV footage buying it which shows her ‘healthy, unhurried, and pleasant with the clerk’. Police have also reviewed footage from the Security Service Federal Credit Union where Eubank claimed she was abducted. While it does show that she withdrew money from the ATM there, police say there were no signs that anyone else was with her. According to police, when Eubank was confronted
by investigators, she admitted to making up the story, saying she wanted attention and a day off work. oregon, usa Police take hamster into ‘protective custody’ after arresting owner Officers in Oregon, pulled over a car in the early hours of Tuesday morning because they believed the driver to be impaired, Beaverton police spokesman Mike Rowe said. After a chat with the driver, 27-year-old Nicole Huey, the policemen realised that she was harbouring a hamster on her lap. She got out of the vehicle, placing her pet on the dashboard, and was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants. The hamster, whose name is not known, was allowed to roam free inside the vehicle and it took three officers to capture the energetic rodent. Huey maintained that she had been taking a trip to the shop, although why she chose to take her furry friend along for the ride remains a mystery. However, it appears that Huey was not all that attached to her unorthodox driving companion. She told police that she did not have anyone who could come collect the hamster, so they should ‘just kill it’.

CHA AM NEWS The big recent news in Cha Am, other than the bike rally about to take place, is the construction taking place of Cha Am’s first shopping mall. Anyone who has been along the beach road in recent weeks will probably have wondered what was taking place - named The Harbor many people thought it might be something to do with a possible ferry that was rumoured to be coming from Pattaya, but the project will be hosting various internationally known retail and other businesses such as Starbucks, and if the artist impressions are to be believed TGI Fridays. The project will include picturesque outdoor dining areas overlooking the beautiful golden sandy beach’s that Cha Am is famous for.
