hua hin, THAILAND It is still a couple of months away but the news this week that once again two of the world’s top female tennis stars will be playing an exhibition match in Hua Hin will already have local tennis fans drooling. Serena Williams and Victoria Azarenka will face off in the Hua Hin World Tennis Invitation on Saturday 29th December at Centennial Park. This will be the second year running for world number one Azarenka, who beat then number one Caroline Wozniacki last year in Hua Hin. She has won 14 titles in her career with six of them coming in 2012, including the Australian Open. Williams is currently ranked third in the world, and this will be her first match on Thai soil. She has won an astonishing 45 singles titles, including 15 Grand Slam titles and the Olympic gold. She also has 12 Grand Slam doubles titles and three Grand Slam mixed doubles titles. Serena has won six titles in 2012, including Wimbledon, the US Open and the Olympic Games. In their five matches this year, Serena has won all of them, and the exhibition match will be in the format of two sets and a third set super-tiebreak. Lawn Tennis Association of Thailand Suwat Lipatapanlop president said, “Victoria and Serena are the biggest names in women’s tennis. We are absolutely delighted to welcome Vika back to Thailand again this year. She won the hearts of everyone who saw her last year. And it is a real pleasure to welcome Serena for the first time. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Thai fans to be able to watch Serena play,” Suwat added. united kingdom Farmer claims on phone insurance after iPhone ‘gets stuck inside a cow’ It may sound like a load of old bull but a farmer who claims to have lost his iPhone up a cow’s bottom tops a list of unusual mobile phone insurance claims. The agriculturalist from Barnstable in Devon, said he was using a torch app on his iPhone 3GS while assisting a cow giving birth before it disappeared out of sight. When the man in his 30s was eventually reunited with his smartphone it was too damaged to use, leading to his bizarre insurance claim. A close second on the strange list, revealed by MobileInsurance.co.uk, was from a Nottingham woman who said she accidentally baked her Nokia 6303i inside a Victoria Sponge cake. A woman in her 20s using her BlackBerry Bold as an adult toy and a couple dropping a phone in the ocean while re-enacting the a scene from Titanic also made the list. MobileInsurance.co.uk executive John Lamerton said he had seen a lot of ‘weird and wonderful claims’ from customers.
He added: ‘I’m not sure how some of them even came about, particularly in the case of the farmer and the cow. ‘Mobile phones are only going up in price now, so it pays to have them insured for as many scenarios as possible. ‘Judging by these claims, you really never know what you might need to claim for. ‘My advice would be to just use the phone as a phone and not as an ingredient in a cake or a firework for that matter.’ The top ten weirdest claims made: 1. Cock-a-hoop with Blount’s account is that he simply asserts it to be In a state of exuberant elation. This expression has one of the most Byzantine etymologies fact, without offering any evidence. People believed it of all the phrases in English. an insight into mc clubs The intent of this piece is to give you an overview of the structure and philosophy of the traditional motorcycle club (MC). If motorcycles influence your lifestyle, then you are part of the motorcycle community. Of all the types of organizations found within that community, the traditional motorcycle club stands apart. The general public does not distinguish between different club colours. In many cases, they simply can’t tell the difference: we’re all “Biker Scum” to

them. If one club causes a problem, the offending club’s identity is either confused or ignored and the heat comes down on all clubs. Because of this EVERYONE needs to be aware that no matter whether they are in a club or an independent rider, their actions reflect on all in the motorcycle community. The MC clubs tend to police themselves to avoid such incidents. There is not enough space here to cover all aspects of MC clubs, but the vast majority are not the demons the media make them out to be - they have codes of honour and respect, and the members have to earn the right to wear the club’s patch by showing the right attitude and respecting not just other club members but anyone they come into contact with. All MC clubs have their own ways of doing things, but normally the process of becoming a member is not just a question of who you know and sewing on a patch. london, england Chelsea players have accused referee Mark Clattenburg of talking to them as if he was a Chelsea player addressing a referee. Clattenburg is alleged to have attempted to use the footballers’ own language in an attempt to communicate with them during Chelsea’s loss to Manchester United on Sunday. A spokesperson for the West London side explained, “There is a very clear dynamic in professional football, and that is players giving officials dogs abuse, and officials just standing there impotently taking it.” “If a referee wanted to swear angrily at people on the pitch, then they should have become footballers themselves.” “These players train for years to reach the point where they can scream obscenities at officials in front of millions of people on television – yet he thinks he can just rock up and start giving it the verbals.
