what is the future of Hua Hin city FC?

hua hin, THAILAND Rumours have been circulating for several weeks now that big changes are on the way for the town’s professional football team, Hua Hin City FC. We must stress however that nothing has been officially confirmed, but the indications are that some form of alliance has been formed with the TOT Sports Club team, which presently plays in the top level of Thai football, the Thai Premier League, although currently bottom of the league and battling hard against relegation. Some of the rumours are backed by facts, in that the coach of Hua Hin City is now also the coach of TOT, and several of Hua Hin’s leading players have been appearing for TOT in some kind of loan agreement, and this has upset many of the local team’s followers, as this has coincided with a marked loss of team form that has ended their hopes of reaching the ‘Champions League’ playoffs for a second consecutive season. The most controversial rumour by far though, is that there is going to be a merger of the two teams at the end of the season, with the Hua Hin name being attached to the team in the higher division, and relocating to our town. Clearly, if this rumour turns out to be true, this would help explain the efforts being made to support the TOT team at the expense of the Hua Hin team, but at the potential cost of supporter backing from either set of fans, who are the lifeblood of any professional sports team. In many ways we hope that the rumours are just that, and the two respective teams succeed or fail on their own, but football worldwide is a murky business where money has become the goal for both players and clubs alike, so it will be little surprise if they turn out to be true.
