•AWOL • has commented on the changing face of Hua Hin before, but the current low season has brought hua hin
some of these changes into stark contrast, with very noticable numbers of businesses in many areas both closing and relocating, with a smaller number of new businesses starting up. The centre of the town, though, has seen the most significant change in recent years, and in particular the number of nightlife venues closing and relocating, with two streets in particular becoming new night time destinations for locals and tourists alike, namely sois 80 and 94. The reasons behind some of these moves will be unrelated to how the businesses are performing, but many will be because of the clear drop in trade that has been steadily occurring for some time now. This also presents problems for AWOL, not least in terms of maintaining and attracting advertisers, but more specifically with regard to where to deliver copies of the paper every week; to this end we are currently trying to find out both where readers are getting their copies, as well as which businesses are and are not receiving them. We are running a survey on Facebook to help us determine any alterations that need to be made, aimed at both readers and business owners, and we would like to encourage all readers and business owners to complete the survey so that we can deliver the paper where it is needed most. We are also looking for businesses that would be interested in assisting in the distribution of the paper, in return for discounted or possibly free advertising, depending on the amount of assistance. The survey is called ‘Finding AWOL’ and can be found at https://survey.fbapp.io/finding-awol and we hope you will take the short time to answer the questions; businesses interested in assisting distribution, or simply receiving copies can enter their details in the survey or email info@awolonline.net.
