A very warm welcome to the Axis Foundation Charity Ball 2024.

Thank you to everyone here tonight for coming to our charity ball and for your generosity and support for the Axis Foundation.

With your help, we really can change lives for the better, whether that be helping a seriously ill child and their family at Demelza, or donating to small, local and impactful causes via our Foundation.

You will see a great number of examples of how we all have helped many, many people less fortunate than we are in the pages of this programme.

My fellow Trustees and I are delighted and proud to say that this year (FY2023/4) we donated nearly £500,000 to 50+ good causes.

I believe that most of you already know about Demelza. They care for children facing serious or life-limiting conditions, providing support for all the family, from first diagnosis and for as long as they are needed.

This year, we we donated £137,500 to our wonderful charity partner and marked the fact with pride that Axis and the Axis Foundation have been friends with Demelza for 21 years. That’s something else to celebrate tonight!

All of them work very hard on behalf of the Foundation. None of what we achieve would be possible without them.

We are delighted that Steve Sutherland is once again our MC at the Axis Foundation Charity Ball – his 8th year in the role – and as always, we thank him for kindly donating his services to us at no charge to our charity.

Steve is now back at Charlton Athletic FC for the 3rd time in his career, as an adviser to the board on club commercial matters. Previously Steve spent 25 years at the top level of commercial management in professional football, including holding senior positions at The Football League (EFL), Swindon Town FC and in two earlier spells at Charlton.

He is an ambassador of the renowned Charlton Athletic Community Trust and is a published writer on Corporate Social Responsibility in Sport.

Axis and the Axis Foundation have supported our charity partner through donations and volunteering for over 21 years. Here Demelza’s CEO, Lavinia Jarrett, says thank you to all of you for your kind generosity.

Demelza supports over 2,500 children and family members. We work continually to extend our services to ensure we can reach even more children with serious or life-limiting conditions, and families that need us, whilst doing more for those we are already supporting.

As a charity, we rely almost entirely on the generosity of our supporters – without you, we wouldn’t exist. Demelza’s partnership with Axis has been going strong for 21 years now and your continued loyalty, passion, empathy and undaunted enthusiasm for throwing yourselves into fundraising initiatives never ceases to amaze us all!

UK Roofing Awards 2021 Winner

Church of the English Martyrs

Established in 2014 , initially working on smaller local works, Premier Roofing, on the back of a focus on a personal-touch approach to business, has developed into a company with national coverage.

We jointly work with the manufacturer s to put together a specification that will explain in detail our proposed solution along with details of the guarantee that our client will receive.

Along the way Premier Roofing identified a real need for a roofing contractor who put their client’s requirements at the forefront of the business model. After all, everyone knows the importance of word -ofmouth reputation and the value of repeat business.

This faith school in northwest London had long suffered from a leaking felt roof. Looking for a cold-applied system that could be fitted during term time, the client turned to Premier Property for a solution. The Polyroof Protec Warm Roof System was chosen for the job at hand, which was fully bonded to the existing coverings for a minimum disruption solution

A fully maintenance -free waterproofing solution, in the form of the Polyroof Protec System, was installed directly to a leaking terrace area. Premier Property then fitted in high performance composite decking, securely loose laid over the new waterproofing , to provide an attractive and long-lasting finish.

This pitched roof project required expert workmanship to form the intersections between the curved lead dormer roof sections. The completed effect meant that the dormers could naturally emerge from the slates to create an aesthetically pleasing finish.
