09 design strategy | insertion of ‘maker spaces’ into the generic office space
act LA B
Insertion of collaborative innovation hubs [maker spaces] into existing corporate structures. •
Large incumbents / corporations need a way to re-invent themselves -- maker space will provide a venue for innovators and planners to explore ideas within their existing workplace.
•
Maker spaces will be the device for innovation and rapid-prototyping for corporations to quickly test ideas, develop tech apps, create videos for quick dissemination of corporate messages to the public, conceptualize product through prototyping interface or physical objects.
•
Consumers are geared towards innovative and new products, and having a rapid pace of creativity, will be attuned to the new consumer’s pace. Creative ideas & wealth creation are kept within the corporation.
Corporations who invest in developing a nucleus within their corporation geared towards innovation (through tech, media and design) will have an opportunity speed up its consumer facing process.
