ABOUT DESIGNING DESIRE

Designing Desire offered our participants the unique opportunity to work with experts from the field of fashion and design and speculate on real world demands and scenarios, ranging from handbag design to pop-up store speculations to urban interventions. Design and Craft talents from Louis Vuitton will be actively involved in the studio to inform these explorations. Through the investigation of current industrial processes in analogue and digital fabrication, AA Paris seeks out new nichĂŠs in design representing creative opportunities by addressing the rapidly growing gaps in terms of specific needs, demands and cultural desires.

THE STUDIO

Louis Vuitton collaboration AAtelier, Fall/ Winter 2012 Staying ahead cultural and technological innovations, Designing desire will leap forward an integration of a desire as the outset for design (on its purest hedonistic approach). Sensations have particular characteristics formally, including: presence, formal balance, refinement of features, surface and restrained opulence. We will refine and further develop the concept of designing desire via a repertoire and controlled technique of visual catalog, spatial coordination, and formal features all of them allowing gracefulness and movement. The main outcome to Designing Desire is that capability of creating a series of design species, each study will express explicit experiences, aesthetics and ergonomic criteria. Designing Desire pursues AA Paris School’ greater cultural content and context by the continuous exchange with other disciplines: visuals, tourism, biology, chemistry, fashion, landscape, etc.
