Good afternoon everyone and welcome to Haywood Way for today’s league game against Flackwell Heath and trust they will enjoy there short stay with us. We are still striving to find some consistency with our performances and results and we need to work hard as a group to do that if we are to see the required improvement. I am still looking to add some new additions to the current squad as 3 or 4 have recently moved to pastures new and I thank them all for their efforts and wish them well in the future. Rebuilding the group will take a bit of time, effort and patience from all as we look to get the club moving forwards on the pitch again.

Dynamos HISTORY Aylesbury Vale Dynamos is an amalgamation of Aylesbury FC and Bedgrove Dynamos, two local clubs with a rich history in local football. Aylesbury FC enjoyed a long history in senior and junior football dating back to the 1930’s under the previous names of Aylesbury Vale, Haywood United, Belgrave, Stocklake and Negretti and Zambra FC, which was founded in the 1930’s by workers at the Negretti and Zambra company then based in London’s King Cross district. The company moved to the Stocklake Industrial Estate, Aylesbury. in 1949 and by the mid 50’s the premises had a bar, football, cricket and tennis facilities. The football club joined the Aylesbury District League in 1954. The social club changed its name to Stocklake when Negretti and Zambra sold the premises to the local council, who then leased the facilities; hence the different sections adopted the name Stocklake. Under the guidance of Chairman Mr Ernie Crotty, the club gained many honours including runners up in ADL’s top divisions, before gaining intermediate status in the Wycombe and District League first and senior divisions. Sadly Ernie was killed in a road accident just before the club moved premises to the present location at Haywood Way in 1987. After gaining senior status and promotion to the Chiltern League in 1988, Stocklake enjoyed many further successes including Division One runners up in 1991, Premier Division and League Cup runners up the following season and Wycombe Senior Cup success in 1995. Cup success was also followed on in the following season, this time the Berks and Bucks Intermediate Cup being added to the trophy cabinet. Belgrave FC was formed in 1983 by Jim Sullivan who lived in nearby Belgrave Road. Jim had two sons who were passionate about football but were limited to where they could play, so formed a team himself with the help of neighbours Lynne and David Hatcher. By 1990, under the guidance of Danny Martone, Belgrave had grown to five youth teams providing football for over ninety boys from the Quarrendon and Haydon Hill areas of Aylesbury. 1996 saw the forming of two senior teams under the Belgrave FC name and by the turn of the millennium teams were represented at all levels from Under 8’s through to seniors, At the start of the 2000/2001 season, the senior Belgrave FC team was renamed Haywood United following an amalgamation with Stocklake FC with Danny Martone voted in as chairman of the new club. Haywood United joined the Spartan South Midlands League and won promotion into Division One after two seasons. Notable achievements during the 2001/2002 season included league awards for the best kept and most improved ground; this included the erection of floodlights and perimeter fencing, which Danny and his hard working committee fought hard to establish. Season 2002/2003 saw a difficult start in Division One, but with the arrival of manager Jon Franklin and his assistant Keith Walker just after Christmas, the club eventually consolidated finishing in 9th place. Promotion was gained to the South Midlands Premier Division the following year after a campaign that saw 23 wins, 7 draws and only 4 losses. Haywood United proved themselves capable of staying in the Premier Division after finishing 3rd in the 2004/2005 season in a campaign that only include one loss in the twenty matches after Christmas. The club also entered the FA Cup and Vase for the first time and won the Buckingham Charity Cup in 2006. Season 2006/2007 began with Haywood United becoming Aylesbury Vale FC and saw Keith Walker and Steve Gleinster take over as joint managers and steadily build a squad. This was recognised in the 2008/2009 season, under the management of Mark Eaton, with a good cup run in the FA Cup and FA Vase, winning three rounds in the FA Cup losing to Level 4 side Gosport after a replay, and losing out in the 4th round of the FA Vase to Leiston Town. . After Christmas the side suffered due to long term injuries and finished mid table. May 2009 saw a major new development in a new semi professional side vote for a name change. Aylesbury Football Club was formed under the leadership of Chairman Roger Dance and assisted by Vice Chairman Danny Martone

Dynamos HISTORY Former Chairman Bill Harrison was made President of the club. Great success on the field of play was to follow, with the team having a fantastic run in the F.A. Cup. We were the last 'level five' team in the country to remain in the competition and were rewarded with a visit to Haywood Way for the F.A. Cup trophy, allowing the team, supporters and local people to get their hands on this famous trophy and make the most of this memorable occasion. We were finally knocked out of the competition by Wealdstone in a close game. A brave and superb display was witnessed by a bumper crowd of 800 plus. Meanwhile, away from the midst of F.A. Cup drama, our success continued, becoming 'Double Winners' Winning both the Spartan South Midland League and League Cup capping an extraordinary season and gaining promotion to the Southern League Division 1 Central. Steve Bateman took over in 2013/14, steered the club to safety in his first 6 months in charge. Then in 2014/15 with Bateman at the helm FC has their most successful season to date most successful to date. Playing at the highest level in the club’s history, the team finished third in the League, having been pushing for promotion all season and narrowly lost out in the semi final to Bedworth United having already beaten them twice in the league. the 2015/16 finished with a flourish as the club finished just outside the play off positions, but had the consolation of our first major Cup Final, beating Chesham United in the Berks & Bucks Cup at Windsor. Steve Bateman and his management team resigned at the end of the season and Danny Gordon & Gareth Risbridger took the helm , supported by Paul Bonham , Ryan Wiffin & Aaron Norman. Davis Haule took over from Gordon & Risbridger in December 2016, appointed brother Brian as his assistant and recruited former coaches Fraser McLachlan, Aaron Wiffin and added Ryan Collings to his back room staff for the 2017/18 season. In 2018/19 Scott Reynolds was appointed manager and when he resigned midway through the season it was left to Paul Bonham to take control but because of ground grading issues the Southern League made the decision to relegate the club and so after ten seasons in the Southern League. Phil Granville and Ben Gill were appointed midway through last season and will kick off the 2020/21 season again in the Spartan Premier Division. Steve Bateman was re appointed as manager in September 2021 Bedgrove Dynamos Alf Buckland, a resident of Finmere Crescent, formed Bedgrove Dynamos in 1968. It was created to fill a void in activities for boys within the Bedgrove area on the south side of Aylesbury. In 1980, Dave Bayliss became involved when he brought his Cub side to the Bedgrove Park. The teams amalgamated and Dave went on to be the chairman for 21 years, stepping down in the year 2000. Within two years and barely a full strip between them, they managed not only to win the Under 12's Aylesbury & District League (ADL), but went on to win the 13's & 14's league in consecutive years and, by which time, they now had four teams at various age groups. Over the years the club has grown and has won many tournaments and trophies, especially at county level. Many teams have toured abroad and the club has also entertained boys from Europe and America. We can boost that we are the only boys club to have a club pennant on display in Barcelona's trophy room. At the start of the season 2001/02 the club was the largest junior club in the Aylesbury area, running teams from under 8's through to under 18's. At the end of the season 2001/02 the club managed to win the coveted Berks and Bucks Cup at under 14's, the Mayor's Cup at under 12's, represented in two other cup finals, won 3 league titles, gained 6 promotions in total and all teams finished in the top 6 to the fairplay awards for their respective leagues. In the last 20 seasons across the age groups the club has won 25 divisional titles, and runners up 20 times. In 2019 two became one when the sides amalgamated with the intention of allowing the youth of the town to progress through junior football to youth and then adult football and play at the highest possible level.

Meet The MANAGEMENT Steve BATEMAN – Manager Bateman has enjoyed an illustrious non-league career, starting his playing days with Hemel Hempstead before joining Everton, where he went on to win the FA Youth Cup before later playing more than 300 games for both Chesham United and Slough Town. His managerial career started at Chesham but he also managed Berkhamsted Town, guiding them to a memorable FA Vase final at Villa Park, and local rivals Hemel Hempstead who he led to promotion to the Southern Premier League. Bateman was appointed Aylesbury boss in 2013, replacing Craig Faulconbridge, and spearhead a strong promotion push in 2014/15 finishing third to Royston and Kettering, Aylesbury's highest ever league position, before losing out in the play-offs to Bedworth. Bates then bought the biggest trophy back to Haywood Way when in 2016 Aylesbury defeated Chesham United 1-0 in the Berks and Bucks Cup Final at Windsor FC before departing the club at the end of that season. He then returned to Berkhamsted, this time gaining promotion from the Spartan South Midlands League in April 2018 before two succesful seasons in the the Southern League, helping them to a 6th place finish in his first season before ending season 19/20 in top place prior to the null and void decision due to Covid. Steve's then teamed up with Lee Bircham and Hemel Hempstead Town in the National League South before ending their tenure earlier this month.

Davis HAULE – Assistant Manager Davis is a Haywood Way legend and returns to Steve Bateman's management team as Assistant Manager. He will also be an important player in the middle of the park. Last Time OUT Tues 26th Oct 2021 Harefield Utd 2 AVDFC 2 Team: George Zammit; Danny Murphy, Will Mullarkey, Paolo Bagatti, Terry Griffiths; Dave Brown, Davis Haule, Roy Byron, Jake Baldwin, Davide Pobbe; Chris Stapleton Subs: Luke Nugent, Joe Chott, Callum Shortt, Marcus Rivers, Jon Munday After the disappointing defeat at Leighton, Manager Steve Bateman rang the changes for the visit to Harefield on a damp Tuesday evening. Dan McAteer was unavailable meaning a debut for George Zammit. There were 2 other debuts for the Dynamos this evening with Danny Murphy coming in at left back and former Dunstable Captain, Chris Stapleton, coming in up front. Will Mullarkey also played after impressing for the Development team of late. The first 10 minutes saw both teams trying to keep possession, but no real penetration into the respective defences. It was Harefield who had the first shot which went well over. Chris Stapleton did force the Harefield keeper into a save just after 10 minutes played. Harefield looked slightly stronger and a few minutes later a decent effort was well saved by George Zammit at his near post. The match had an edge to it which the Harefield No.5 lit a fuse as he slammed into George Zammit as he caught a ball in the area, sending him sprawling into the post. Bit naughty that but Zammit was up after treatment. 20 minutes in and the referee seemed to be giving strange decisions, but one in particular upset Davis Haule and he was sent for 10 minutes in the sin bin to reflect… Next up for the referee was Steve Bateman, who the referee decided needed a talking to as the match was not being allowed to run with the whistle happy referee. Harefield then had the better of the remaining half creating a few chances. 26 minutes in and Harefield hit a shot destined for the back of the net, but George Zammit somehow got a hand to it and tipped it wide. Superb save. 34 minutes and Dynamos cleared the ball off the line with Terry Griffiths and Will Mullarkey throwing themselves around to stop the shots. Five minutes later and George Zammit was back in action as another Harefield shot came in which he gathered well low to his right. Danny Murphy was having a good battle on the left, but one foul too many saw him in the referees book before half time. 44 minutes and as Dynamos looked to have settled for 0-0…Harefield struk. A well worked goal as they crossed in and no one was marking the striker as he slotted home. 1-0 Harefield. An early free kick from Dynamos in the second half saw Jake Baldwin swing the ball in and Davis Haule rose the highest but his header went over the bar. Another free kick moments later from Will Mullarkey is headed wide by Davide Pobbe. Dynamos were getting closer. 54 minutes and Chris Stapleton, who had been lively all night, was upended in the box. Referee looked and ran away, despite the protests from Dynamos players. Finally after 58 minutes Dynamos equalised. Good work from Davide Pobbe as he found Chris Stapleton, his quick feet found Jake Baldwin who side footed past the keeper and into the net. 1-1. Davide Pobbe then had a half chance but his shot was scuffed wide. At the other end Harefield were awarded a free kick in a dangerous position. Danny Murphy disagreed too much and was the second Dynamos player to hit the sin bin. Free kick hit the wall and cleared by Paolo Bagatti. 67 minutes and Roy Byron made a great tackle and came out with the ball, playing in Chris Stapleton he squared to Davide Pobbe and his shot went just over the bar. Dynamos could smell the victory. With 20 minutes remaining, Roy Byron was fouled and Jake Baldwin stood over the free kick. He hit a great effort which was just saved but no one following in and Harefield cleared.

Last Time OUT 67 minutes and Roy Byron made a great tackle and came out with the ball, playing in Chris Stapleton he squared to Davide Pobbe and his shot went just over the bar. Dynamos could smell the victory. With 20 minutes remaining, Roy Byron was fouled and Jake Baldwin stood over the free kick. He hit a great effort which was just saved but no one following in and Harefield cleared. 77 minutes and Davide Pobbe swung in a ball which landed at the feet of Chris Stapleton and he slammed it home to make it 2-1 to Dynamos. A debut goal!!! A couple of minutes later and Harefield won a corner which they crossed into the near post and Paquette scored for Harefield with a header to make it 2-2. 82 minutes and Will Mullarkey was injured after another bad tackle, Luke Nugent came on for the remainder of the match. With a couple of minutes remaining, Davide Pobbe was yellow carded and then subbed for another debutant, Joe Chott, also stepping up from the Development team. Sat 30th Oct 2021 AVDFC 0 Baldock Town 1 Team: George Zammit; Luke Nugent, Danny Murphy, Paolo Bagatti, Terry Griffiths; Dave Brown, Roy Byron, Callum Shortt, Davide Pobbe, Jake Baldwin; Chris Stapleton Subs: Joe Chott, Ben Hammond, Jude Guest-Brainch, Ollie Lemon, Jon Munday Four days after a great battle with Harefield and coming away with a draw, The Dynamos were at home against lowly Baldock. George Zammit was in goal again and new signing Ben Hammond was on the bench. Also, Development player Jude Guest-Brainch was hoping to make his debut for the first team. In the first minute Danny Murphy swung in a great cross finding Chris Stapleton in the middle, but the ball was inches away from his head. Baldock threatened at the other end as they send a header from a corner over the bar. Chris Stapleton got a shot on target on 10 minutes as he collected a ball out from Terry Griffiths and the keeper saved well. 17 minutes and Danny Murphy was the architect again as he curled a ball into Chris Stapleton and this time he controlled well, beat his man and hit a low shot which was saved again. Moments later Baldock thought they had broken the deadlock as a shot beat George Zammit, hit the cross-bar and Terry Griffiths cleared the ball as it bounced on the line. Lucky escape for the home side. Baldock were having the majority of possession and Zammit was on hand again to make a save as the Baldock shot deflected off Paolo Bagatti, but Zammit grabbed the ball. 33 minutes and Baldock worked the ball through but Paolo Bagatti fouled as they looked likely to score. Yellow Card for Bagatti as Terry Griffiths was back…could have been worse. A few minutes later a long range effort from Baldock saw Zammit needing to be on his toes as he tipped the ball over the bar. The resulting corner was cleared by Luke Nugent and finally whacked clear by Davide Pobbe Aylesbury did manage one more chance before the break as Roy Byron tackled well and win the ball playing a great ball through to Jake Baldwin, he hit a shot which the keeper saved at the second attempt. Steve Bateman made a sub at half time taking over Davide Pobbe and bringing on new signing Ben Hammond in the middle. Baldock were still the better team and they had a couple of shots went wide of the mark as they searched for the opening goal. 64 minutes and a Baldock cross is met by a good header which hits the cross bar and landed in Zammit’s hands. A few minutes later and another Baldock attack. They go through the defence and only a last ditch tackle from Terry Griffiths stops another shot on goal. 68 minutes and Joe Chott replaced Callum Shortt on the right wing.

Last Time OUT bar and landed in Zammit’s hands. A few minutes later and another Baldock attack. They go through the defence and only a last ditch tackle from Terry Griffiths stops another shot on goal. 68 minutes and Joe Chott replaced Callum Shortt on the right wing. Five minutes later as Baldock surged forward, Roy Byron fouled their midfielder and the referee decided this was worth a Yellow Card. Bateman made his final substitution as Jude Guest-Brainch came on for his debut for Roy Byron in the midfield. 82 minutes and the deadlock was finally broken. Baldock who had been the better team managed to work the ball into the centre of the Dynamos box and their player beat Zammit from close range. Baldock had at least 2 more chances to increase their lead in the final minutes but they couldn’t find the target.

Flackwell Heath HISTORY Flackwell Heath FC was founded in 1907 and the club joined the High Wycombe and District League for its inaugural season. The Heathens proved to be a major force in local football, having won twelve Wycombe League championship titles and fourteen High Wycombe Senior Challenge Cup finals. In the 1950’s Flackwell joined the Great Western Combination League and won this league twice before returning to the Wycombe League. In 1956 the club moved to its current home, the new ground being donated by the Wilks family. Through the 60s and 70's the club continued their success on and off field and the new clubhouse was built in 1974 as the first stage of their rise into senior football. In 1975 The Heathens won the Berks and Bucks Intermediate Cup and the Reading Senior Cup. In 1977 the club achieved Senior status and moved up into the Hellenic League Division One. Promotion to the Premier Division was achieved at the first attempt. After five seasons in this league, during which time floodlights were installed at Wilks Park, Flackwell were elected into the Athenian League. In 1984 they joined the expanding Isthmian League. The clubs first season in this competition saw them playing in Division Two (North) and against some tough opposition they finished in a respectable eighth position. The following season Flackwell was switched to Division Two (South) where life turned out to be even tougher. At the end of season 1990-91, after finishing below midtable, The Heathens found themselves placed in the newly formed Ryman League Division Three. At this stage the club installed a 150 seater stand to stay in senior football, and new home changing rooms were built to comply with new ground gradings. For the next 10 years the club carried out further ground improvements and they established themselves in senior football. In 2002/03 for the first time in their history Flackwell reached the 4th qualifying round of the FA Cup losing 4-1 at home against Crawley and finished third in the newly formed Ryman League Division Two, the highest position achieved to date. In season 2004/05 The Heathens reached the 4th Qualifying Round of the FA Cup for the second time in three years, this time losing 3-0 at Ryman Premier Division Billericay Town and were runners-up in the Ryman League Associate Members Cup, losing 2-1 after extra time to Division Two champions Ilford on their own ground. Flackwell finished fourth in Ryman League Division Two in 2005/06, narrowly missing out on promotion. After the end of 2006/07 the FA reorganised the non-league pyramid and we were due to be relegated into the South Midlands Spartan League until Barking and East Ham United went out of business and we were given the opportunity to take their place in the Ryman Division One (North). Unfortunately we finished bottom of the league and were relegated into the Hellenic Premier Division for season 2008/09. The 2014/15 season saw us gain promotion into the Southern League Division 1. However, a late move by the Southern League of us from the Central Division into the South West Division meant FHFC were unable to accept promotion and we stayed in the Hellenic League Premier Division for season 2015-16. 2014-15 also saw us with places in the final of the Berks & Bucks Trophy (losing to Windsor FC) and the High Wycombe Senior Challenge Cup (winning against Penn & Tylers Green FC). Earlier that season we reached the fourth qualifying round of the FA Cup losing to Conference side Weston Supermare 4-1. For the first time in club history we also reached the last sixteen of the FA Vase losing 3-2 to Shaw Lane Aquaforce. 2015/16 season under the continued management of Graham Malcolm assisted by Paul Shone saw us finish 3rd in the Hellenic League also winning 3 cup finals – the Berks & Bucks Senior Trophy (against Newport Pagnell FC), the Uhlsport Challenge Cup (against Brackley Town Saints) and the Wycombe Senior Cup (against Pitstone and Ivinghoe FC). After Graham Malcolm's decision to move to Spain, Paul Shone took over the managerial role assisted by Sean Kelleher. Unfortunately, this combination did not work out and in November 2017 they were replaced by Marcus Richardson, formerly of Highmoor Ibis FC, assisted by Fabian Coultress. Marcus had to start rebuilding the team from scratch, bringing in lots of young players and former Youth team players. That season the team finished a respectable 5th, following with 8th position in 2018/19. The past 2 seasons have been limited by Covid-19 restrictions with our 2019/20 season finish of 9th, with games in hand, being declared null and void. The past season was similarly curtailed, leaving FHFC top of the Hellenic League having only lost one game. However, FA promotions and restructuring using a points per game system saw us finishing 4th over the previous 2 seasons, thereby missing out on promotion for 2021/22. The restructuring has seen us take up a place in the Spartan South Midlands League, Premier Division. This disappointment was tempered by a very successful run in the 2020/21 FA Vase. FHFC reached the Quarter Finals for the 1st time in their history finally losing to US Portsmouth FC 2-0.
