Good Afternoon Id like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I am currently the chairman of the biggest Youth football club in the area, Bedgrove Dynamos. I have been Chairman of Dynamos for 4 years now (2 years vice chairman before that) and was voted in with my current committee to try and expand the outreach of youth football in the town and to offer the best standard of coaching possible. Over the past few years we have seen the club grow to over 450 members with 26 eams from u6s to adults in various leagues, and over 50 qualified coaches and managers. Over the years myself, my family and friends of Bedgrove Dynamos have been regular visitors to Haywood Way supporting the Moles and have built close friendships with the committee and the team. About 6 years ago as Vice Chairman of BDFC I met Danny Martone and was blown away by his passion and drive to bring youth football through to senior football to the town. Over the years we formed a friendship and Danny offered pitches to our youth section, something we had always struggled with due to lack of pitches in the town. This led to a much closer bond between the 2 clubs and we shared the same vision of inclusive football for all ages. Our bond has continued to strengthen and we have grown together over the past couple of years. We were aware of the importance of offering our youth teams the best standard of football we could once they step into u18s and senior football and were conscious that our Senior football set up was not enough for the amount of young players each season stepping up. Aylesbury FC had the knowledge and experience of senior football, and with their dedicated, passionate, hard working committee it was an easy conversation about how we could combine the 2 clubs and committees to become one big club for the town. We believe that what we can now offer to the players of the club is very special and will continue to grow for many years to come. We also can continue Danny's legacy and his wish of an integrated setup with players from 3 years old right through to senior teams. Taking the newly merged club to the next level will be a challenge, but we will do it together, and with the backing and support of both clubs families, followers and members we are really excited for what the future holds and I am honored to have been chosen as chairman, and look forward to the new chapter ahead of us.

Good evening, we welcome Joe Sweeney and all connected with Leighton Town to the SRD Stadium as we host the second leg of the Bucks Charity Cup. I’m sure its going to be a great game for the spectators, although we trail 2-1 from the first leg we are still much in this tie and we will be doing everything possible to get through to the final. Leighton are on a very good run and have made some great signings of late so will be a very tough test for the team. Having played them lately and having them watched we understand we will have to be at our very best again to get through this tie. Joe’s side is very well organised outfit and have great forward-thinking players so will be a constant threat. After Saturday’s great win against Bedford Town we hope to kick on and produce another great team performance, not only was it good to win the game but the most pleasing aspect of the game was the togetherness of the side, we looked like a side who would run through brick walls for each other. Bedford threw everything at us but we looked strong, organised and disciplined and were a real threat going forward and could have won the game by more than one goal. We will continue to take each game at a time and hope that we continue to perform at the level set on Saturday. Your support as always is greatly appreciated, so get behind the boys and cheer us on into the final – come on you moles!!

The club has enjoyed a long history in senior and junior football dating back to the 1930’s under the previous names of Aylesbury Vale, Haywood United, Belgrave, Stocklake and Negretti and Zambra FC, which was founded in the 1930’s by workers at the Negretti and Zambra company then based in London’s King Cross district. The company moved to the Stocklake Industrial Estate, Aylesbury. in 1949 and by the mid 50’s the premises had a bar, football, cricket and tennis facilities. The football club joined the Aylesbury District League in 1954. The social club changed its name to Stocklake when Negretti and Zambra sold the premises to the local council, who then leased the facilities; hence the different sections adopted the name Stocklake. Under the guidance of Chairman Mr Ernie Crotty, the club gained many honours including runners up in ADL’s top divisions, before gaining intermediate status in the Wycombe and District League first and senior divisions. Sadly Ernie was killed in a road accident just before the club moved premises to the present location at Haywood Way in 1987. After gaining senior status and promotion to the Chiltern League in 1988, Stocklake enjoyed many further successes including Division One runners up in 1991, Premier Division and League Cup runners up the following season and Wycombe Senior Cup success in 1995. Cup success was also followed on in the following season, this time the Berks and Bucks Intermediate Cup being added to the trophy cabinet. Belgrave FC was formed in 1983 by Jim Sullivan who lived in nearby Belgrave Road. Jim had two sons who were passionate about football but were limited to where they could play, so formed a team himself with the help of neighbours Lynne and David Hatcher. By 1990, under the guidance of Danny Martone, Belgrave had grown to five youth teams providing football for over ninety boys from the Quarrendon and Haydon Hill areas of Aylesbury. 1996 saw the forming of two senior teams under the Belgrave FC name and by the turn of the millennium teams were represented at all levels from Under 8’s through to seniors, some 200 players being registered, this also including Stocklake Ladies. In 2000 four youth teams won league and cup honours, whilst the senior team went on to win the Aylesbury District Cup, the Field Shield and ADL Premier Division runners up. At the start of the 2000/2001 season, the senior Belgrave FC team was renamed Haywood United following an amalgamation with Stocklake FC with Danny Martone voted in as chairman of the new club. Haywood United joined the Spartan South Midlands League and won promotion into Division One after two seasons. Notable achievements during the 2001/2002 season included league awards for the best kept and most improved ground; this included the erection of floodlights and perimeter fencing, which Danny and his hard working committee fought hard to establish. Another award was gained for the match day programme in recognition of how much the club was developing.

Season 2002/2003 saw a difficult start in Division One, but with the arrival of manager Jon Franklin and his assistant Keith Walker just after Christmas, the club eventually consolidated finishing in 9th place. Promotion was gained to the South Midlands Premier Division the following year after a campaign that saw 23 wins, 7 draws and only 4 losses. Haywood United proved themselves capable of staying in the Premier Division after finishing 3rd in the 2004/2005 season in a campaign that only include one loss in the twenty matches after Christmas. The club also entered the FA Cup and Vase for the first time and won the Buckingham Charity Cup in 2006. Season 2006/2007 began with Haywood United becoming Aylesbury Vale FC and saw Keith Walker and Steve Gleinster take over as joint managers and steadily build a squad. This was recognised in the 2008/2009 season with a good cup run in the FA Cup and FA Vase, winning three rounds in the FA Cup losing to Level 4 side Gosport after a replay, and losing out in the 4th round of the FA Vase to Leiston Town.

After Christmas the side suffered due to long term injuries and finished mid table. May 2009 saw a major new development in a new semi professional side. Aylesbury Football Club was formed under the leadership of Chairman Roger Dance and assisted by Vice Chairman Danny Martone. Former Chairman Bill Harrison was made President of the club. Great success on the field of play was to follow, with the team having a fantastic run in the F.A. Cup. We were the last 'level five' team in the country to remain in the competition and were rewarded with a visit to Haywood Way for the F.A. Cup trophy, allowing the team, supporters and local people to get their hands on this famous trophy and make the most of this memorable occasion. We were finally knocked out of the competition by Wealdstone in a close game. A brave and superb display was witnessed by a bumper crowd of 800 plus. Meanwhile, away from the midst of F.A. Cup drama, our success continued, becoming 'Double Winners' Winning both the Spartan South Midland League and League Cup capping an extraordinary season and gaining promotion to the Southern League Division 1 Central. Steve Bateman took over in 2013/14, steered the club to safety in his first 6 months in charge. Then in 2014/15 with Bateman at the helm FC has their most successful season to date most successful to date. Playing at the highest level in the clubâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s history, the team finished third in the League, having been pushing for promotion all season and narrowly lost out in the semi final to Bedworth United having already beaten them twice in the league the 2015/16 finished with a flourish as the club finished just outside the play off positions, but had the consolation of our first major Cup Final, beating Chesham United in the Berks & Bucks Cup at Windsor. Steve Bateman and his management team resigned at the end of the season and Danny Gordon & Gareth Risbridger took the helm , supported by Paul Bonham , Ryan Wiffin & Aaron Norman. Davis Haule took over from Gordon & Risbridger in December 2016, appointed brother Brian as his assistant and recruited former coaches Fraser McLachlan, Aaron Wiffin and added Ryan Collings to his back room staff for the 2017/18 season. 2017/18 was a difficult season for club finishing 21st and avoiding relegation due to the League re organisation. This season sees a new era with ex Leighton manager Scott Reynolds taking over the reigns assisted by Matt Moran, Lea Coulter and the returning Paul Bonham. Aylesbury Football Club prides itself on clear ambitions: to progress to higher league football and to achieve higher league status with squads from local talent. The club hopes to continue to work with other local community groups and enhance the clubs facilities to benefit the people within Aylesbury.

Paul Bonham - Manager Returning to the club, most recently employed by Oxford United as academy coach and studying his UEFA B license. Paul was Manager of the U18s, Development Side and part of the FC First Team set up in previous seasons and also has experience at Buckingham Athletic.

Paul Toms - Assistant Manager Paul joins us from Amptill Town where he was manager of the Spartan League Division One side. He was also Head Coach at Burnham and had two spells at Berkhamsted FC. Paul is currently also currently on his last block of the UEFA B coaching badge and has 9 years of coaching history at all levels from Sunday league to Ladies football

Pete Forssling – Head Coach Pete is an FA Level 1 coach and looking to take his FA Level 2 in the summer. His previous roles have been at Berkhamsted Development as Coach and more recently he was First Team Coach at Ampthill Town.

Phil Cave – Goalkeeping Coach Phil is a UEFA B licensed outfield and UEFA B licensed goalkeeper coach. His previous experiences include Academy goalkeeper coach at both Brentford and QPR. Phil has recently moved to Aylesbury and is joining the club as specific goalkeeper coach.

Phil Duffy – Kit Manager Phil worked with Scott and his team at Leighton Town. Phil is an integral part of match day preparation and responsible for ensuring all kit and equipment is ready prior to player and staff arrival on match day and training nights. Phil will also take over as club photographer and work closely with the media team to enhance the match day experience at Haywood Way

Aylesbury FC 1 Bedford Town 0 â&#x20AC;&#x201C; Sat Feb 2019 â&#x20AC;&#x201C; Evo-Stik Division One South With suspensions, injury and non availability FC really were down to the bear bones at Haywood Way this afternoon, not the start to a Saturday afternoon that Paul Bonham and his management team would have wanted going into a game with promotion chasing Bedford Town. Hayden Clack came in at left back with Craig Carby partnering Jordan Jenkins in the centre of defence, Ben Stevens playing as a holding midfielder and Elliot Amadieu playing on the right of a front three. On a heavy Haywood Way pitch it was the visitors who were immediately on the front foot and with just a minute gone a corner fell to Brett Longden who was unmarked at the far post and smashed a volley first time which was deflected behind by Jordan Jenkins Jenkins. Two minutes later and another Bedford attack down the right saw Callum Donnelly gets the better of Haydon Clack, he fed a ball through to NelsonAddy who was making a run from midfield - he reached the byline but his low cross was easily gathered by Nick Bennion at the front post. The away side though weren't having it all their own way and Clack was causing all sorts of problems with his long throw, both Ty Deacon and Elliot Amadieu contested for a ball thrown into the 6-yard box, but keeper Ashlee Jones was brave and dived down on the bouncing ball as the chance came to nothing. Although Bedford were having all the possession the back four of Aylesbury were standing firm and the away side were not being allowed to create any real clear cut chances, Ben Stevens, playing in front of the defence, was ensuring they were protected and when Bedford did manage to get passed Jordan Jenkins and Craig Carby were equal to everything being thrown at them. Bedford had their best chance on thirty four minutes Longden delayed his run towards the back post from a cross, the ball reached him and he headed towards goal from just six yards, the ball ricocheted off the post and pinballed back onto his head and then back onto the post for a second time! a let off for FC.

Ben Ford then had an effort from 25 yards, the ball was moving all over the place, but Bennion was equal to it and got down low to his right to parry out for a throw. Bedford were showing signs of opening the scoring, but FC were continuing to frustrate them. Service was resumed into the second half with Aylesbury frustrating the Bedford side who as the half went on started to argue amongst each other and get on each others backs when anything went wrong, a sure sign that the harrying, hustling and determination of the home side was starting to get to the Bedford players. Aylesbury were camped in their own half as Bedford were now pushing too hard for the opening goal and they always looked like they might be able to get something on the break. On one of these opportunities Ty Deacon collected the ball in his own half sprinted over the halfway line showing both pace and power to pull clear of a cluster of defenders, as he bore down on goal his final touch just took the ball away from him, and he poked the ball wide. The last three minutes proved to throw up the best FC opportunities and also the winning goal. On eighty eight minutes there was a huge opportunity for Ryan Young who found himself one on one with the keeper but his weak shot was fired directly at Jones who smothered the ball.

Aylesbury FC 1 Bedford Town 0 â&#x20AC;&#x201C; Sat Feb 2019 â&#x20AC;&#x201C; Evo-Stik Division One South The clock was running down, with the faithful Moles fans desperate for the referee to blow the final whistle, but on ninety minutes Deacon tricked his way past Watkins-Clark who hacked him down for a stonewall penalty. Deacon himself stepped up and smashed the ball to Ashlee Jones' left but the big keeper somehow managed to push the ball away. Surely that was going to be the end of the action? but unbelievably three minutes into stoppage time Paul Field's low cross into the box was met by young full back Stephens-Abbey and his miscued clearance screwed agonizingly and very slowly past the rooted keeper and just made it across the line for a goal. There wasn't even time to restart the game as both players and supporters celebrated an excellent victory and three points.

Leighton Town, who were known as Leighton United between 1922 and 1963, were formed in 1885. They were mainly involved in local leagues until the outbreak of the Great War, and were winners of the Leighton and District League on several occasions. Leighton were one of the original members of the South Midland League in 1922 – which at the time was known as the Bedfordshire County League. They were also members of the Spartan League between 1922/23 and 1951/52, but their only successes being the Spartan League Division 2 title in 1923/24 and 1927/28. They were Bedfordshire Senior Cup winners in 1926/27. In 1952, they became a founder member of the Hellenic League, but after two disappointing seasons, moved to the South Midlands League. . In 1965/66 season however, the Premier Championship sat in the Leighton Town Boardroom. The club then rejoined the Spartan League in 1967/68. Leighton proceeded to consolidate their League success by winning the Bedfordshire Senior Cup for three successive seasons in 1968, 1969 and 1970. Unfortunately, some of the successful players moved onto other clubs, and Leighton’s fortunes again declined. A move to the United Counties League proved disastrous and, after just two seasons, the club rejoined the South Midlands League. During the ‘70’s and ‘80’s, Leighton were unable to capture the success of the ‘60’s. In 1990/1991 the First Team won the South Midlands League Challenge Trophy and the O’Brien’s Premier Division Cup, both for the first time in the club’s history. The 1991/2 season was one of the club’s best ever. The South Midlands Premier Division title, which had eluded the club for so long, was won, and with it a place in the Isthmian League. 1992/3 saw the Club’s success continue when they won the Bedfordshire Senior Cup for the first time since 1970. The Club missed out on promotion in their first Isthmian League season by just a single point but the Youth Team retained the County Cup. 1995/6 saw the First Team win promotion to Division 2 of the Isthmian League, whilst at the same time retaining the Buckingham Charity Cup. In the 1996/7 season, Leighton won the Isthmian League Associated Members Trophy for the first time. 1998/99 saw the return of the Associated Members Trophy and the Buckingham Charity Cup. Season 2003/04 was arguably one of the Club’s best ever, as the First Team won the Ryman Isthmian Second Division title. The team was also named Ryman Division Two Team of the Year, and Paul Burgess was awarded Manager of the Year. They also reached the Fifth round of the FA Vase, and the final of the Beds Senior Cup, but lost to Andover and Arlesey respectively. The 2004-05 season saw the club placed in The Southern League East Division and finished in a creditable tenth place. They also won the Buckinghamshire Charity Cup. The Reserves won the Bedfordshire Intermediate Cup and the U18’s won the League Shield. The 05-06 Season saw the Club progress again, improving on the year before, as they finished 8th in The Southern League West Division. After a poor start,

League results improved and the side only suffered four defeats from the start of November until the end of March, a play-off place just eluding them. After three excellent victories, interest in the FA.Trophy competition ended with a single goal defeat to eventual semi-finalists, Borehamwood. The Club also reached the Beds Senior Cup Final, but sadly they finished as Runners Up. The Club were relocated to the Southern League, Midland Division for 06-07 season but only one League win in the first six games and early exits in the two FA Competitions cost Paul Burgess his job in September. He was replaced by former Wycombe, professional Keith Scott, results did improve but it was a disappointing season, although Town did win the Bucks Senior Charity Cup.

The 07-08 started brightly with the first League defeat not coming until mid-October. Three wins in the FA Cup saw the Club reach the 4th Qualifying Round for the first time in itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s history. A 3-0 defeat to Conference South, Havant and Waterlooville finally ended the run. Keith Scott left in December to join Windsor and Eton. In January 2008, Assistant Manager Sean Downey was appointed as First Team Manager and did a splendid job as the Club ended their League season in 9th place, winning the Bucks Charity Cup and reaching the final of the Beds Senior Cup once more. The 08/09 Season the First Team finished 8th in the Southern League, Midland Division, achieving their highest points total to date at that level. The 09/10 season saw Leighton once again finish in the top half of the table, when they finished in 9th place and they also lost the Bedfordshire Senior Cup Final to Southern League rivals, Arlesey Town after penalties. Season 2010/2011, saw Town finish in 7th place in the League, gaining 69 points, their best performance since joining the Southern Football League. The 2011/2012 saw Leighton finish in their lowest position for several years. 2012/13 was also very disappointing for the First Team as they finished in 20th place. However the Reserve Team finished near the top of their Suburban Division and reached the Semi-final of the Beds Intermediate Cup .

2015/2016. After 3 disappointing seasons Leighton finished the season in the bottom two of the Southern League Central Division and were relegated to the Spartan South Midlands League where they had last played in the 1991/92 season. 2016/2017 This was a disappointing season with the club struggling for much of the time after yet another Managerial Change. Things did pick up towards the end of the season and we eventually finished in 16th place. 2017/18 The club retained Scott Reynolds as Manager and finished 4th in the League and reached the quarter finals of the FA VASE. Gates improved and it was our best season for about 8 years. Scott Reynolds resigned at the end of the season. 2018/2019 The Club appointed experienced coach Danny Nicholls as the new Manager but he left in October and the club appointed Joe Sweeney and Paul Copson as the new Management Team . They won this League with London Colney and we hope they can do the same for us.
