Dynamos HISTORY Aylesbury Vale Dynamos is an amalgamation of Aylesbury FC and Bedgrove Dynamos, two local clubs with a rich history in local football. Aylesbury FC enjoyed a long history in senior and junior football dating back to the 1930’s under the previous names of Aylesbury Vale, Haywood United, Belgrave, Stocklake and Negretti and Zambra FC, which was founded in the 1930’s by workers at the Negretti and Zambra company then based in London’s King Cross district. The company moved to the Stocklake Industrial Estate, Aylesbury. in 1949 and by the mid 50’s the premises had a bar, football, cricket and tennis facilities. The football club joined the Aylesbury District League in 1954. The social club changed its name to Stocklake when Negretti and Zambra sold the premises to the local council, who then leased the facilities; hence the different sections adopted the name Stocklake. Under the guidance of Chairman Mr Ernie Crotty, the club gained many honours including runners up in ADL’s top divisions, before gaining intermediate status in the Wycombe and District League first and senior divisions. Sadly Ernie was killed in a road accident just before the club moved premises to the present location at Haywood Way in 1987. After gaining senior status and promotion to the Chiltern League in 1988, Stocklake enjoyed many further successes including Division One runners up in 1991, Premier Division and League Cup runners up the following season and Wycombe Senior Cup success in 1995. Cup success was also followed on in the following season, this time the Berks and Bucks Intermediate Cup being added to the trophy cabinet. Belgrave FC was formed in 1983 by Jim Sullivan who lived in nearby Belgrave Road. Jim had two sons who were passionate about football but were limited to where they could play, so formed a team himself with the help of neighbours Lynne and David Hatcher. By 1990, under the guidance of Danny Martone, Belgrave had grown to five youth teams providing football for over ninety boys from the Quarrendon and Haydon Hill areas of Aylesbury. 1996 saw the forming of two senior teams under the Belgrave FC name and by the turn of the millennium teams were represented at all levels from Under 8’s through to seniors, At the start of the 2000/2001 season, the senior Belgrave FC team was renamed Haywood United following an amalgamation with Stocklake FC with Danny Martone voted in as chairman of the new club. Haywood United joined the Spartan South Midlands League and won promotion into Division One after two seasons. Notable achievements during the 2001/2002 season included league awards for the best kept and most improved ground; this included the erection of floodlights and perimeter fencing, which Danny and his hard working committee fought hard to establish. Season 2002/2003 saw a difficult start in Division One, but with the arrival of manager Jon Franklin and his assistant Keith Walker just after Christmas, the club eventually consolidated finishing in 9th place. Promotion was gained to the South Midlands Premier Division the following year after a campaign that saw 23 wins, 7 draws and only 4 losses. Haywood United proved themselves capable of staying in the Premier Division after finishing 3rd in the 2004/2005 season in a campaign that only include one loss in the twenty matches after Christmas. The club also entered the FA Cup and Vase for the first time and won the Buckingham Charity Cup in 2006. Season 2006/2007 began with Haywood United becoming Aylesbury Vale FC and saw Keith Walker and Steve Gleinster take over as joint managers and steadily build a squad. This was recognised in the 2008/2009 season, under the management of Mark Eaton, with a good cup run in the FA Cup and FA Vase, winning three rounds in the FA Cup losing to Level 4 side Gosport after a replay, and losing out in the 4th round of the FA Vase to Leiston Town. . After Christmas the side suffered due to long term injuries and finished mid table. May 2009 saw a major new development in a new semi professional side vote for a name change. Aylesbury Football Club was formed under the leadership of Chairman Roger Dance and assisted by Vice Chairman Danny Martone

Dynamos HISTORY Former Chairman Bill Harrison was made President of the club. Great success on the field of play was to follow, with the team having a fantastic run in the F.A. Cup. We were the last 'level five' team in the country to remain in the competition and were rewarded with a visit to Haywood Way for the F.A. Cup trophy, allowing the team, supporters and local people to get their hands on this famous trophy and make the most of this memorable occasion. We were finally knocked out of the competition by Wealdstone in a close game. A brave and superb display was witnessed by a bumper crowd of 800 plus. Meanwhile, away from the midst of F.A. Cup drama, our success continued, becoming 'Double Winners' Winning both the Spartan South Midland League and League Cup capping an extraordinary season and gaining promotion to the Southern League Division 1 Central. Steve Bateman took over in 2013/14, steered the club to safety in his first 6 months in charge. Then in 2014/15 with Bateman at the helm FC has their most successful season to date most successful to date. Playing at the highest level in the club’s history, the team finished third in the League, having been pushing for promotion all season and narrowly lost out in the semi final to Bedworth United having already beaten them twice in the league. the 2015/16 finished with a flourish as the club finished just outside the play off positions, but had the consolation of our first major Cup Final, beating Chesham United in the Berks & Bucks Cup at Windsor. Steve Bateman and his management team resigned at the end of the season and Danny Gordon & Gareth Risbridger took the helm , supported by Paul Bonham , Ryan Wiffin & Aaron Norman. Davis Haule took over from Gordon & Risbridger in December 2016, appointed brother Brian as his assistant and recruited former coaches Fraser McLachlan, Aaron Wiffin and added Ryan Collings to his back room staff for the 2017/18 season. In 2018/19 Scott Reynolds was appointed manager and when he resigned midway through the season it was left to Paul Bonham to take control but because of ground grading issues the Southern League made the decision to relegate the club and so after ten seasons in the Southern League. Phil Granville and Ben Gill were appointed midway through last season and will kick off the 2020/21 season again in the Spartan Premier Division. Steve Bateman was re appointed as manager in September 2021 Bedgrove Dynamos Alf Buckland, a resident of Finmere Crescent, formed Bedgrove Dynamos in 1968. It was created to fill a void in activities for boys within the Bedgrove area on the south side of Aylesbury. In 1980, Dave Bayliss became involved when he brought his Cub side to the Bedgrove Park. The teams amalgamated and Dave went on to be the chairman for 21 years, stepping down in the year 2000. Within two years and barely a full strip between them, they managed not only to win the Under 12's Aylesbury & District League (ADL), but went on to win the 13's & 14's league in consecutive years and, by which time, they now had four teams at various age groups. Over the years the club has grown and has won many tournaments and trophies, especially at county level. Many teams have toured abroad and the club has also entertained boys from Europe and America. We can boost that we are the only boys club to have a club pennant on display in Barcelona's trophy room. At the start of the season 2001/02 the club was the largest junior club in the Aylesbury area, running teams from under 8's through to under 18's. At the end of the season 2001/02 the club managed to win the coveted Berks and Bucks Cup at under 14's, the Mayor's Cup at under 12's, represented in two other cup finals, won 3 league titles, gained 6 promotions in total and all teams finished in the top 6 to the fairplay awards for their respective leagues. In the last 20 seasons across the age groups the club has won 25 divisional titles, and runners up 20 times. In 2019 two became one when the sides amalgamated with the intention of allowing the youth of the town to progress through junior football to youth and then adult football and play at the highest possible level.

Meet The MANAGEMENT Steve BATEMAN – Manager Bateman has enjoyed an illustrious non-league career, starting his playing days with Hemel Hempstead before joining Everton, where he went on to win the FA Youth Cup before later playing more than 300 games for both Chesham United and Slough Town. His managerial career started at Chesham but he also managed Berkhamsted Town, guiding them to a memorable FA Vase final at Villa Park, and local rivals Hemel Hempstead who he led to promotion to the Southern Premier League. Bateman was appointed Aylesbury boss in 2013, replacing Craig Faulconbridge, and spearhead a strong promotion push in 2014/15 finishing third to Royston and Kettering, Aylesbury's highest ever league position, before losing out in the play-offs to Bedworth. Bates then bought the biggest trophy back to Haywood Way when in 2016 Aylesbury defeated Chesham United 1-0 in the Berks and Bucks Cup Final at Windsor FC before departing the club at the end of that season. He then returned to Berkhamsted, this time gaining promotion from the Spartan South Midlands League in April 2018 before two succesful seasons in the the Southern League, helping them to a 6th place finish in his first season before ending season 19/20 in top place prior to the null and void decision due to Covid. Steve's then teamed up with Lee Bircham and Hemel Hempstead Town in the National League South before ending their tenure earlier this month.

Davis HAULE – Assistant Manager Davis is a Haywood Way legend and returns to Steve Bateman's management team as Assistant Manager. He will also be an important player in the middle of the park. Davis made nearly 200 appearances for Aylesbury between 2012 and 2019 and managed the side for a season and a half between 2016 and 2018. He brings with him an immense amount of knowledge of the non league game and will be an invaluable source of experience to the young players but also to the management team.

Last Time OUT Sat 6th November 2021 AVDFC 1 Flackwell Heath 3 Team: James Weatherill; Luke Nugent, Jake Baldwin, Jon Munday, Terry Griffiths; Dave Brown, Roy Byron, Davis Haule, Callum Shortt, Montel Brown; Chris Stapleton Subs: Davide Pobbe, Jack Aldridge, Joe Chott, Paolo Bagatti, Dan McAteer Steve Bateman is still searching for his preferred starting eleven and today Montel Brown was back in the starting line up and Davis Haule was also back in. On the bench, the impressive Development player, Jack Aldridge, was also hoping for his debut. The big news was that new signing, James Weatherill, was in goal for todays visit of Flackwell Heath. It was a nervy start for Dynamos as Flackwell were having the majority of possession in the early exchanges. Dave Brown managed to find some space on the right hand side and hit a low cross into the box but no-one was there to get on the end of it. Moments later Dynamos had their best effort as Chris Stapleton collected a ball from Roy Byron and hit a shot which was well saved. 12 minutes in and a long throw from Chris Stapleton was flicked on by Jon Munday but Montel Brown was just unable to connect. Quarter of an hour gone and James Weatherill was called into action as he saved well from a Flackwell shot. 21 minutes and Flackwell took the lead. A free kick was not cleared and after a couple of deflections, they put the ball past James Weatherill. 0-1 Flackwell. On the half hour Dave Brown battled well and managed to get a shot away which the keeper saved. 38 minutes and Jon Munday slips leaving the Flackwell attacker through on goal. Luckily Terry Griffiths was aware and made a superb tackle. 41 minutes and Flackwell made it 2 goals. A decent long range effort flew into the top corner of the net with James Weatherill no chance. Good goal to be fair. 0-2 Flackwell. Half time: AVDFC 0-2 Flackwell Heath With 50 minutes gone, another superb strike from Flackwell saw the score increase to 3-0 as Dynamos were struggling for possession as they wrapped up the points with just over half the match gone. 56 minutes and Flackwell will be disappointed not to make it 4 as James Weatherill made a great save, low to his left to stop a certain goal. Steve Bateman made a change on 62 minutes as Roy Byron was taken off and Davide Pobbe brought on. A few minutes later Callum Shortt picked up a ball from Jake Baldwin and took on the defence, hitting a decent shot which the keeper gathered. 74 minutes in and Dynamos had a goal back. Montel Brown battled well on the right and found Callum Shortt in space. He side-stepped his man and hit a decent shot which the keeper palmed away, but Davide Pobbe was first to react and smashed it past the keeper. 3-1 Flackwell. Dynamos battled for the next 10 minutes but couldn’t force their way through the Flackwell defence. 87 minutes and James Weatherill pulled off the save of the match as he saved a Flackwell shot onto the post and away for a corner. Jack Aldridge cleared the resulting corner. Montel Brown was replaced by Joe Chott in the final few minutes but there was no more action as Flackwell ran out comfortable winners.

T U O e im T t s La e id S t n e m p Develo Saturday 13th November 2021 AVDFC Development 2 Flackwell Heath Reserves 0 Team: George Zammit; Will Mullarkey, Harvey Matthews, Jack Aldridge, Jack Elsey; Josh Edworthy, Jude GuestBrainch, Tom Shaw, Tafara Dube, Joe Chott; Marcus Rivers Subs: Connor Wagner, Matt Tagliarini, Rosh Patel, Shiraz Hussain, Rhys Edmonds After the very unlucky loss on penalties on Tuesday night and with only 1 point splitting the two teams, this was going to be a tough match for the Development team. Will Mullarkey was back from injury and Jack Elsey and Tafara Dube back in the starting 11 as Michael East and Damian Eatwell looked to continue their good league form. In the early exchanges, it was Dynamos looking the livelier as an early cross from Joe Chott found Marcus Rivers on the edge of the box and his quick shot went over the bar. On 10 minutes Dynamos got even closer to breaking the deadlock as a lovely through ball from Jude Guest-Brainch was collected by Marcus Rivers and his shot was palmed away. The ball came out to Tafara Dube on the left wing and he sent on a cross onto the head of Joe Chott, but his header went just over the bar. At the other end Flackwell had a couple of chances. The first was well saved by George Zammit and the second was blocked by the, ever-dependable, Will Mullarkey. 17 minutes in and George Zammit rolled the ball out to Will Mullarkey and he sent a fantastic ball down the line to Tafara Dube. He cut inside onto his right and his shot was blocked by the defender. Dynamos were playing well and were on top and another good save, this time from a Tom Shaw shot, after he was played in by Josh Edworthy. The pressure finally told a couple of minutes later as ball out from Will Mullarkey found Tafara Dube and he beat his man and curled a great ball to Tom Shaw. He beat his man and hit a low shot passed the keeper, into the net. 1-0 Dynamos. Tafara Dube was in the action again a few minutes later as a long ball from Jack Elsey found him free on the right. Another trademark cut in and his right footed shot was again blocked. Then on 26 minutes both teams thought they had scored. Dynamos were first as a ball in from Joe Chott found Tom Shaw who happily slotted the ball home…only to see the linesman’s flag raised. Within a few seconds, Flackwell were through on goal, but Harvey Matthews managed to do enough to put off the striker as he missed the target. Only a long range effort from Flackwell left as the first half ended with Dynamos 1-0 to the good. With only 2 minutes gone of the second half Connor Wagner was introduced and Tafara Dube was taken off with a slight knock. 49 minutes and it Dynamos back on the attack. Joe Chott was causing Flackwell issues and he played a lovely deft pass to Harvey Matthews who got forward but his shot was hit wide of the mark. Tom Shaw then won the ball in midfield and sent a ball to Marcus Rivers. He twisted and turned and got a shot off but the keeper held the ball. 58 minutes in and Marcus Rivers was again within shooting range, this time forcing the keeper into a fine save, tipping it for a corner. The referee gave a foul on the keeper from the corner and brandishing a Yellow Card to Jack Elsey in the process.Over the hour played and Flackwell were pressing higher, however, another good through ball from Jude Guest-Brainch to Marcus Rivers and he flicked it to Joe Chott who had another shot saved. Marcus Rivers was subbed off and Matt Tagliarini was on, back from injury. •20 minutes remaining and Dynamos needed a second goal. Another ball forward from Flackwell was controlled by Jack Elsey and then he went on a surging run through a few Flackwell players and found Joe Chott running

T U O e im T t s La e id S t n e m p Develo Marcus Rivers was subbed off and Matt Tagliarini was on, back from injury. 20 minutes remaining and Dynamos needed a second goal. Another ball forward from Flackwell was controlled by Jack Elsey and then he went on a surging run through a few Flackwell players and found Joe Chott running through. Some great skill and a nice shot was saved by the Flackwell keeper. Joe Chott was involved again as he combined well with Connor Wagner to open the pitch up for Matt Tagliarini to get a shot away, but it went harmlessly wide. 78 minutes and a late challenge from Connor Wagner resulted in a Yellow Card for the forward. From the resulting free kick, Joe Chott didn’t re Flackwell were still in the match and another warning came on 84 minutes as they raced down the Dynamos right but their shot was dealt with by George Zammit as he gathered well at the near post. 86 minute and Rosh Patel and Shiraz Hussain were introduced for Jude Guest-Brainch and Tom Shaw. A minute later and some great pressure from Shiraz Hussain saw the defence fail to clear the ball and it fell to Joe Chott. He controlled the ball and hit a shot passed the keeper, who got a touch, but it still went into the back of the net and Dynamos were looking comfortable at 2-0. There were no real chance in the final few minutes and Dynamos ran out 2-0 winners and stayed in 2nd place in the table.

Tring Athletic HISTORY THE EARLY YEARS Tring Athletic Youth FC was formed in March 1958 by a group of local men who contributed towards the purchase of 3.4 acres at Miswell Lane. The cost of providing changing rooms, fencing, equipment and ownership of the ground was approximately £2,000, a lot of money in those days. Committee members, players and friends carried out most of the work, including the building of the changing rooms and during the early days the team had to play on another pitch in Tring. Originally the Club was formed to provide football for youngsters aged under 21 and despite playing against adult teams we won many trophies in the West Herts Saturday League during the early 1960's including the Division 1 title 3 times in 5 years. THE 70's/80's We then went through a lean spell and in 1971 decided to scrap the upper age limit and drop youth from our name. Many former players returned and we had another successful period during the early 1970's. Over the years many fine players appeared in our shirts and many went on to play for professional/senior clubs. In the mid-seventies the Miswell Lane ground was sold to the Council and we had a bad time and but for the efforts of a few loyal members would have certainly folded. The Reserves were disbanded and the First Team dropped down to Division 3. We decided to turn to youth again and gradually forced our way back up through the league and by 1986 we were competing in the Premier Division and running a Reserve side again. SOUTH MIDLANDS - THE 90's In 1988 we joined the South Midlands and as a result gained senior status with the Herts FA. In 1989 we entered into a 3 year ground sharing arrangement with Isthmian League side Tring Town moving back to Miswell Lane in 1992 where the Reserves had continued to play. We established ourselves in the South Midlands by gaining promotion to the newly formed Senior Division in 1993. In 1994/95 the First Team reached the final of the Senior Division Cup whilst the Reserves were finalists in the Apsley Junior Cup for the second year running. In 1996/97 we led the Senior Division throughout the season and looked favourites to win the title. However, some unlucky defeats in the last few games saw us drop down to 3rd place. In addition to our impressive league form we also had some terrific cup runs during that season, reaching the semi-final of the Herts Charity Shield and winning the prestigious St. Marys Cup, the first time we had ever achieved such heights. In 1997/98 we just missed out on the Senior Division title by the narrowest of margins to New Bradwell St Peter - a goal difference of just 2! We finished the season in fine style, suffering just 1 defeat in our last 21 league games which included a terrific run of 14 straight wins for which we won a special award from the League. The Reserves went one better by winning their league by a clear 10 points and in doing so achieved 100% success in their league games at home. In 1998/99 we picked up our first major South Midlands trophy when we won the Senior Division Cup. We also won the St Marys Cup for the 2nd time in 3 years. In the league a terrific run of just 1 defeat in our last 28 games saw us finish in 3rd place, 4 points behind champions Holmer Green. During this magnificent run we went 15 hours without conceding a goal. The Reserves also did well finishing 5th in their first season in the top division. The 1999/2000 season proved to be one to remember. During the summer we spent over ?50k on building new changing rooms and extending the social and bar area. That meant a total of over £90k had been spent on improving the facilities at Miswell Lane since 1993. To mark

Tring Athletic HISTORY opening of the new changing rooms we played a Watford XI in front of a huge crowd of about 1,000 people. The game was Refereed by Graham Poll and Graham Barber. We also expanded on the playing side with a third team being set up to particularly attract young players, a veterans side for explayers and a Ladies side. The season turned out to be the most successful in the Club's history. In addition to winning the Senior Division title by 11 points we also reached 5 finals. We won the Herts Charity Shield (beating Potters Bar Town 2-1), Herts Senior Centenary Trophy (Wormley Rovers 2-0) and the Cherry Red Books Trophy in its inaugural year (Bedmond Sports & Social on penalties after a 1-1 draw). We were narrowly beaten 1-0 by Letchworth in the Senior Division Cup and although we also reached the St Marys Cup final it was never played because of the backlog of fixtures. Our achievements were recognised by the South Midlands who awarded us the Houghton Regis Cup for achievements in outside competitions and Mick Eldridge, Ray Brimson and Richard Vincent were voted Managers of the Season. In 60 games in all competitions we lost on only 6 occasions, a remarkable achievement. Our other teams also enjoyed success with the Reserves reaching the Final of the Herts Intermediate Cup and the A Team in their first season finishing runners up in the West Herts Division 3. THE NEW MILLENNIUM After finishing the old millennium in style we continued our success into the new one (2000/01) by retaining the Herts Senior Centenary Trophy (again beating Wormley Rovers 2-0) and the Cherry Red Books Trophy (Virginia Water 1-0). The Reserves won the League title and a newly formed B Team claimed the runners-up spot. The following season (2001/02) we won the Herts Charity Shield for the 2nd time beating Letchworth 4-1. The A Team reached the Apsley Junior Cup final and the B Team won the sporting award. SEASON 2002/03 - More success followed as we capture the Herts Senior Centenary Trophy for the 3rd time, to become the first club to do so. We finished 3rd in the table and won the League Cup for the 2nd time, to make 12 major trophies in 7 years. We were also finalists in the Cherry Red Books Trophy. The A Team finished runners up as did the Under 16's in their first season, the B Team won the sporting award for the 2nd year running and the Ladies had a great run in the Women's FA Cup. For the 3rd year running Darrel Bodimeade won an award for the best playing surface, which is just reward for the tremendous job he does for the club. SEASON 2003/04 - Following our failure to secure floodlights at Miswell Lane we entered into an historic alliance with Tring Town to play our first and reserve team football in season 2004/05 at Pendley where lights are already in place. The main focus was to be to raise the funds needed to build a new Clubhouse, the previous building burnt down in March 2003. Miswell Lane will be retained and will be used by our A, B, Under 18's and Ladies sides. This new arrangement with Tring Town secured senior level football in the town. SEASON 2004/05 - New season at a new ground in a new division with fantastic facilities. First team finished 6th in the Premier Division and also won the St Mary's Cup for the 3rd time defeating Hemel Hempstead in the Final. We were also Runners Up in the South Midlands Floodlit Cup Final losing on penalties to Oxhey Jets. Played in the F A Vase for the first time.

Tring Athletic HISTORY SEASON 2005/6 - The Club entered the F A Cup for the 1st time in its history but was defeated in the prelim round. In a disappointing season the highlight was a victory over Watford in the Herts Senior Trophy with a large crowd enjoying a 1-0 win. Defeat in this competition came at the hands of Stevenage Borough of the Conference league. SEASON 2007/8 - Winners of Herts Charity Shield - We defeated Weylwn Garden City in the final of this County Cup to win the trophy for the 3rd time in our history. Match played at The County Ground, Letchworth. This was the first trophy for the new management team of Manager, Phil Casserley, Assistant, Terry Nightingale and Coach Julian Robinson. SEASON 2008/9 - Treble Winners - SSMFL Challenge Trophy Winners - Athletic defeated Chalfont St Peter by 3-2 at Harefield United's ground to lift this trophy in their first appearance in
