AUCHENHARVIE ACADEMY, ST MATTHEWS ACADEMY, ARDROSSAN ACADEMY AND LARGS ACADEMY WORK EXPERIENCE ROUND-UP

“Well done to pupils from Auchenharvie Academy, St Matthews Academy, Ardrossan Academy and Largs Academy who all participated in work experience with North Ayrshire Police.

During their placement they visited the Marine Unit, went on a sail using the police boat on the river Clyde. They visited Prestwick Airport to speak with airport police they also got to speak with firearms officers learning their role and they were lucky enough to be allowed on an American and Canadian military aircraft and meet the pilots.

The pupils got the chance to speak with CID detectives and learned about forensics and how the police investigate serious crime. They visited the Mountain Rescue Police and observed a demonstration of a rescue being conducted with all the safety equipment in a quarry.

All pupils were given certificates by Police Inspector Cameron for their work, they were all magnificent and done their respective schools proud”.
