Future development of Silversprings golf course
The Silver Springs Golf Course in North West Calgary is being converted into a long term care health facility. This booklet aims to investigate the feasibility of this conversion according to the site characteristics. The opportunities and constraints of the site for future development are analyzed. Physiographic features such as slope, aspect and hydrology indicate which areas are suitable for future development of the health care facility. Through the report, each aspect is demonstrated and at the end, we conclude by integrating all the information provided.
Silver Springs and the urban context
The Silver Springs Golf Course is located in the Varsity community. This community consists of single houses and some apartment complexes. Urban amenities are mostly located close to shopping centers. As a green space, this golf course is close to the bow river. There are other health care facilities including Childrens Hospital and Marketmall. The access to the golf course is well provided by the LRT and bus routes.
