Brought to You from the Adult Education Desk
5782 has been a year of fun and engaging programming! We’ve had programs to stimulate our minds and bodies. Our community continues to study Talmud, Torah, and the Hebrew langue. We’ve been meditating, walking, and practicing yoga. Member-led talks and activities celebrate Rosh H . odesh and the rabbis still teach us on Wednesday mornings as well at our Lunch & Learn and Dessert & Discussion groups.

We had robust attendance at the Hebrew College Meah Select program as well at the Lexington Institute of Jewish Studies, our partnership program with Temple Isaiah. This winter our successful three-part LiJS course was “Marital Sexual Intimacy” with Dr. Noam Zion.
Of course, we’re not done yet. Adult Ed has summer learning opportunities. Israeli Dance returns to Temple Emunah on Monday evenings and will continue through the summer, as will Meditation, Ivrit LaKol, Walking Group and Wednesday Morning Study Group.
Our Glatzer Memorial Weekend with Scholar-in-Residence Dr. Rachel Fish was a culmination of our Antisemitism Initiative. Dr. Fish taught at four lectures—plus one just for our teenagers—on “Understanding and Navigating Antisemitism in the 21st Century.” The many who attended raved about her talks. We owe a big thank you to the Glatzer Committee, which comprised Judi Canter, Susan Cook Fran Jacobs, Sandy Goldstein, Terri Swartz Russell,
Don’t forget: We want to hear from you! We’d love your programming ideas and to know what topics you want to learn about. Contact us if with your suggestions or if you’d like to join our committee. All are welcome.
Enjoy the sunshine! Terri Swartz Russell and Sandy Goldstein Co-chairs of Adult Education adulted@templeemunah.org.
Emunat haLev Meditation Institute
Please join us on Zoom for our Tuesday morning meditation group. We meet every Tuesday from 8:30 am-9:20 am. Barbara Neustadt begins our meditation with a guided meditation followed by 25 minutes of silent sitting. Cantor Louise Treitman ends our meditation with a niggun and Rabbi Lerner shares a teaching. The Zoom link can be found on the Emunah calendar.
Some of the meditations and teachings can be found on the Emunah website in the Emunat HaLev section.
Shabbat morning meditation, led by Paul Neustadt, meets once a month from 9:30-10:15 am on Zoom. The Zoom link can be found either in the Shabbat Shalom email or on the calendar.
All are welcome to the meditations regardless of meditation experience! Please contact Barbara Neustadt at barbneus7@ gmail.com if you like more information or have questions. Barbara Neustadt
