LEGACY GOLF CLUB
THINGS TO KNOW:
Legacy Golf Club’s championship course features lush fairways, forgiving rough and strategicallyplaced hazards. Dramatic elevation changes provide extensive views of nearby Camelback Mountain, Piestewa Peak and the Phoenix skyline. The resort itself features 328 suites with kitchens, a practice facility, pool, fitness center and tennis court, as well as a fully stocked pro shop and a golf academy. The course measures 6,966 yards from the back tees and carries a 125 slope rating, so it’s no pushover, but it’s nuanced enough to accommodate a range of skill levels.
DON’T MISS:
Legacy Golf Club was voted the No. 1 public golf course in Phoenix, is the site of the Golf Channel Academy and is known for hosting exceptional golf outings. Rich in heritage and history, it is an 18-hole par 71 championship course designed by renowned golf course architect Gary Panks. Located on what was once Dwight B. Heard’s 7,500-acre ranch, the original two grain silos, built in 1902, still remain along the 18th fairway and were once the tallest structures in Maricopa County. The Sierra Vista House, which marks the first tee, was visited in the early 1900s by Theodore Roosevelt and Pancho Villa.
