An exploration of the body and the self, focusing on toxic relationships within the physical body that bleeds into the emotional and spiritual. The Voices and Characters are a chorus of voices that go between incoherent mind-thoughts to memories from the past. Each scene is titled with a chapter number and name, going through multiples of four (i.e. Chapters 4, 8, 12, 16). The audience will be provided with a small program with the list of chapters, filling in the chapters that are not multiple of fours with “This is Not For Your Consumption,” illuminating on the fact that no one owes anyone their full story or their full Truths. Throughout the performance, the audience will be told when to flip to a certain chapter. 四 // 死: Body Betrayal, A Relationship Between the Self and the Body: A Memoir-Performance is an interactive experience for the audience.
