AZUKA Telling the stories of outcasts and underdogs
2014 - 2015 SEASON & SUBSCRIPTIONS
THE (CURIOUS
CASE OF THE) INTELLIGENCE By Madeleine George Directed by Allison Heishman Philadelphia Premiere & 2014 Pulitzer Finalist!
NOVEMBER 5 – 23, 2014
A love triangle repeats through the ages in this time-shifting play. The connective tissue is Watson, four Watsons to be precise. The beloved side-kick of Sherlock Holmes, the loyal assistant to Alexander Graham-Bell, the Artificial Super Intelligence that took the Jeopardy! world by storm, and the preternaturally chill Josh Watson - a modern day IT guru for the local Dweeb Team. This play questions the way we communicate and connect with the world at large and the people who are right in front of us, and the many ways through history that technology has helped and hindered that cause. STARRING:

Do you LOVE Philadelphia? Do you LOVE its quirks, imperfections, idiosyncrasies, cute hipster baristas? Do you also kind of HATE things like SEPTA, the PPA, belligerent fixed gear bikers, pretentious hipster baristas? More than anything, do you LOVE laughing until it hurts? Then don’t miss the comedy event of the season. Philly’s phinest phunny actors give melodramatic readings of the funniest, weirdest, most ridiculous posts from the City Paper’s iconic I Love You, I Hate You column. Just in time for Valentine’s Day, this is the perfect alternative event sure to please both the romantics and the romantically challenged, Philly style!
