Silverstone Auctions have had a busy start to 2021; at the end of last year the Silverstone Auctions Group were recognised as the new, UK market leading classic car auction house. The accolade is in response to the very successful year that they had in 2020, which also appears to be continuing into this year.

Their first auction of 2021 was the Race Retro Live Online Auction which took place over two days on Saturday 27 – Sunday 28 March. An incredible £8.7million worth of cars and automobilia were sold over the two-day auction, with 86% of classic cars and 62% of competition cars selling.

Their sister company, Classic Car Auctions (CCA), hosted their sale one day earlier (26 March) and sold an incredible 90% of their cars, equating to £1.7million in sales. The threeday extravaganza for the group was a resounding success, with all bidding taking place from home (online, by phone or via commission) and a combined value of over £10million in sales over the three days!

Furthermore, the group have just launched a third business which is an additional route to market for their customers. Automotive Auctions is an online only platform, with 7-day auctions and no sellers fees, it is option for those not wanting to wait for a traditional auction with a set date. The

platform is suitable for a diverse range of categories, not just classic cars but supercars, modern cars, electric & hybrid cars, competition cars, motorhomes, motorcycles, automobilia & number plates. For buyers, you’ll be charged just 5% +VAT and the first lots went live on Monday 12 April.
