DESIGN - Auto Fabrica

Founded in 2013 by brothers Bujar and Gazmend Muharremi, Auto Fabrica is a company specialising in the hand making and coach building of bespoke motorcycles.

With all disciplines under one roof, based in Southend-on-Sea near London, the Auto Fabrica workshop is setup to design, prototype and manufacture a build from concept to final product.

The principles of Auto Fabrica are to harmoniously balance function and form while delivering outstanding and unique products. A meticulous eye for detail and high levels of craftsmanship are key to its foundations.

Auto Fabrica have already produced several one-off motorcycles for clients and the following three caught my eye, but please check out their website for a full run down of their work.

Type 1: The first motorcycle created by Auto Fabrica. The project started as one of passion and a desire to create a motorcycle that both perfectly realised the production of a concept sketch and was able to be ridden. It was always the intention to be creative, learn new processes and prove concepts can become a reality if designed and built in harmony.

This motorcycle is still in Auto Fabrica’s ownership and displayed as a bookmark of the company’s history in the AF Headquarters.

Type 6: One of Auto Fabrica’s flagship models, the Type 6 was a self driven project to push the boundaries of the established skills and in-house capabilities; taking a refined version of the Auto Fabrica design language and truly creating a motorcycle that epitomised the company’s DNA. The Type 6 was eventually sold and still resides in London, UK.

Type 24: The guys took this commission from friends and previous workshop neighbours Safwat Cars. Sharif approached them to undertake a small but usable, clean build for his low milage Yamaha XJ600 Pre Diversion. This wasn’t a bike they would normally tackle but they took ton he challenge and managed to achieve something they are justifiably proud of.
