HEROES
Time must be lived to the fullest. 2016
Reclaim your right to be your own owner, regain and store the time that so far has been taken or stolen from you, or that has simply slipped away. Persuade yourself that things work like this: a portion of our time is taken away from us, another portion is stolen, and another portion slips away. Yet the most shameful loss is the one that is due to our own neglect… a great part of life is missed by those who act improperly, the greatest part by those who do not do anything, the whole life by those who do something else… Embrace every hour; if today you keep your hold (on time) you will be less dependent on tomorrow. While we postpone, life goes by. Lucio Anneo Seneca

Elegance is that quality of conduct that transforms the maximum quality of self into appearance.
The brand is not a slogan, a logo to show off, it is rather a synthesis of spurs and sensations available only for those who choose to wear the garment.

Please do not smile if I say that some of De Chirico’s torments can be found in these compositions of time metaphysics. But contrary to that cold, intellectual and totally 20th-century style assembling process, Giovagnoli is sweet, available like a beach to the unceasing movement of the sea, showing a more intelligent trust in the movement of the world. Cortina d’Ampezzo, the Queen of the Dolomites. In Cortina time goes by in a different way. When you disconnect your mind from its boring routine, snowy valleys open up which allow you to keep on thinking for hours. The ideal beauty of this place is still in the sensitive hearts that have grasped its value. The Dolomite stones define the skyline in the horizon. Beauty is everywhere, light creates shapes, chooses the colours for the Autumn trees, where quietness is heard in the earth, in the crackling leaves shaken by the wind. The Ajal lake is like an oil painting with real colours, in the soft ripples created by the leaves and trunks in the water. Those who visit Cortina are looking for a dream of beauty, and this beauty must be experienced and observed in depth.
From the 1956 Winter Olympic Games to the 2019 Alpine Ski World Cup. The Queen of the Dolomites gives it another try and applies to host a new world championship. The connection with the past and the olimpic glory is ever-lasting. The ski slope that will be created on the South-Western side of the mountain Col Drusciè will be dedicated to Tony Sailer, the undisputed champion in the 1956 Olympic Games. The opening ceremony of the 2019 World Cup will be held at the Olympic Ice Stadium which hosted the opening ceremony of the 1956 Olympic Games.

It becomes a search for a piece of heaven among peaks that protect one from the existential vacuum of a less humane world. Cortina has the merit of making one happy both during the day and at the night, from the dawn that colours the mountains in pink to the rosecoloured rocks at sunset, with the downhill runs in the ski slope or the quiet hiking with snowshoes in the woods, the elegant clubs at night after enjoying a delicious dinner. Time in this magic place is worth a little joy and teaches how one can reason and appreciate what one maybe runs the risk of losing in everyday life.
Comfort and Glam. Sweet and elegant cuddling. That is the essence of this garment. A must-have from the Fall Winter 2016/2017 collection, this coat with a loose-fitting and charming design, was conceived to provide a modern and sophisticated woman with full comfort. It is made of a thick wool fabric combined with a jacket and detachable ultra-light down collar. The coat gives the maximum protection to those who wear it in freezing environments. The pockets made of soft Greenland fox provide the garment with a glam contemporary style which takes into account the importance of comfort and versatility. Precisely thanks to the detachable and separable lining, this model can be worn from the beginning of the spring season until the freezing cold days.
Porsche 911, the legend.
Only few cars have been in production for 53 years, and those very few ones which survive without any considerable alteration, neither in design nor in technical features, tend to look visibly outdated. That is not the case for Porsche 911, which has become one of the most coveted sports cars ever manufactured. So much so that its prestige has grown over time. This enviable fate is due to various improvements which have been made by a team of purists who took into account budgetary restraints and at the same time envisaged technical perfection as their goal, which is confirmed by the sports competitions won by this car. Porsche regards circuit races and rallies as an essential outcome for

The base model was 911 T (Touring) with power supply by carburettors and lighter engine and 110CV. Porsche 911 L still had the carburettor engine with 130CV, but also more refined finishing. Porsche 911 S also had weber carburettors and offered 160CV. The wheel base was extended by 6cm, from 221cm to 227cm. the work of the wonderful testing centre of the factory, since the evolution of both racing cars and custom-built models is carried out by the same engineers. The first 911 model was presented at the 1963 Frankfurt Motor Show. It was a car with a highly individual design, characterized by an engine with six horizontal cylinders and an air-cooling system, embossed in the back. The result is a practical car for everyday use and suitable for sport races, probably the most eclectic one ever driven in rallies and circuits all over the world. Both in the case of cars similar to the series or modified according to sports rules in force, Porsche 911 has in fact won at least once all sports cars competitions. It has proved at ease both on the snowy roads of the Monte Carlo Rally and on the desert tracks of the Paris-Dakar, in the streets of the Targa Florio Rally and on the Daytona circuit, and also on the 24 Hours of Le Mans, all the competitions which are now included in its record.

In the early 70s Heuer extended its line of automatic chronometers with the models Daytona, Montreal, Silverstone, Calculator, Monza and Jarama, all of them powered by Calibre 11. These iconic models included Monaco, which was worn in the film Le Mans by Steve McQueen.

Snow Polo, the elegance of horse riders on ice. Although it might appear as a hybrid riding, a bit English because of the saddle and the gear and a bit American because the horse is led with a single hand, the game of polo is actually a refined sport which requires a good athletic prepration both of rider and horse, strategy and respect for the rules. The first mentions of this game date back as early as 500 b.C. but the first rules were established in England in the 19th century. There are no precise data on the true origins of polo. It was probably born in the Middle East, where it was already practiced 2500 years ago in Persia and China. Polo then spread all through the East: Mongolia, Pakistan, Tibet, India, China and Japan. The riders played hitting a ball made of animal leather, and the game was called “pulu. The English army discovered polo in India in the 19th century. Polo was the national sport of the state of Manipur and English officials learnt it from local people, who had actually copied a game played in Tibet. General Robert Stewart founded the first polo club in 1859. In 1870 all over British India polo was played on the small local ponies. The first Western polo club was founded in Malta in 1868 by the British officials who made a stop on the island during their journeys to and from India, while the first official polo match was played in England in 1989 in Aldershot. It is impressive to see eight horse riders on the snow competing in one of the most fascinating disciplines in the sports field. Parka Montecore in ultra-light down, oversize line, in microfiber fabric contrasted with cashmere wool flannell totally trimmed with silver fox fur and details in Finn raccoon.
Either with the sun or the snowflakes, the weather does not stop them, since horse and riders are used to challenges on the white surface of a frozen lake in any weather conditions. All the surroundings are enchanted with the elegance and skill of the eight riders on the field. In the background the imposing skyline of the snowy mountains make the scene even more fascinating. The first events of Snow Polo were held in 1985 in Sant Moritz, and then in 1989 in Cortina. In the Italian resort matches were played in the first two years on the Lake Landro, below Mount Cristallo, then in 1991 the tournament moved to Lake Misurina, where it was held for more than two decades at the feet of the Three Peaks of Lavaredo and of Mount Sorapis. Today, since the ice field must comply with safety requirements, the Town of Cortina has offered to Polo Gold Cup Circuit, which hosts the event, the area of Fiames, an area which is highly appreciated especially by nordic skiers, located four kilometers north of the mountain resort. The charm of polo, whose origins date back to ancient times between Pakistan and Afghanistan, is mainly due to speed, team play and perfect symbiosis between horse and rider.

Partenza Notturna, Luca Giovagnoli’s artistic icons. Luca Giovagnoli was born in Rimini in 1963. He began to draw early in his childhood. Following his passion for drawing, he enrolled at the Architecture Faculty in Florence, but he soon felt more attracted by art. He left university and began his career as an artist. He immediately proved extraordinarily successful and at the age of 27 he already set up his first exhibition. Since then he has regularly exhibited his works in Italy and abroad. In 2006 he created the new picture for the “Rimini Manifesto”. In 2009 he took part in “Contemplazioni” (“Contemplations”) curated by Alberto Agazzani. Two years later he exhibited his works at the 54th edition of the Venice Biennale at the Italian Pavillion curated by Vittorio Sgarbi. One can perceive that painting is a means, a tool to express his way of feeling, of existing. Faces, parts of human bodies, states of mind in the vortex of life, works with a strong energy and considerable emotional impact. Human sensitivity prevails here and colours now become rather “dark as earth”, merely through okra and light blue-grey shades. The works have an intimate, introspective personality. The dominant feature is the deformation of the subject and of some aspects of reality, which
emphasizes the emotional and expressive values of the painting. Messages become deep and personal, and colours enrich this feeling.
Light is feeble and shadows tower above the whole scene;
the representation of our living mixed with allusions to the past, the condemnation of the abyss in which man has fallen and all the icons of the past which represent the longing for values apparently lost.
It reveals itself as an exploding force, which bursts on the canvas almost as if it wanted to challenge and denounce its force in front of the world. Energetic strokes of brush on huge canvas like shouts. His art is definitely far-reaching. By shifting from sunny colours to darker ones, leaving the attention for details to search for the essence, tenaciously believing in art and using art to manifest his feeling, Giovagnoli has reached an important place in the world of contemporary art.

Because cigar has always meant passions and polemics, enchantment and intrigue, irony and subtle pleasures of life. It is not by chance that it is and has been smoked, over the centuries, by the main personalities of politics and show business, art and literature. Men, but also women. Writers, poets, journalists, commaders, statesmen find in the cigar a loyal companion, always ready to play each time the role it is required.

The culture of slow smoking often goes hand in hand with an ironic, joyful and light-hearted approach to life. Let us draw on the age of Enlightenment and listen to François de La Rochefoucauld, in charge of diplomatic relationships in the Americas for the French government, who wrote: “Cigar is a great resource. One needs to have roamed in the woods, alone, to understand this, because what the cigar lacks is the pleasure of smoking. Its benefit is merely moral. Are you inclined to boredom? The cigar keeps you busy and entertained. Are you inclined to bad mood? The cigar dissolves this inclination. Are you bothered by nonsense questions? The use of the cigar exempts you from answering without being too rude. Have you hardly found anything to eat at the hotel? The cigar staves off hunger. Are you haunted by sad ideas? The cigar leads you to delve into abstraction, into numbness instead of grievance. Finally, do you have any sweet memory, any comforting thought? The cigar allows you to linger over that. Sometimes it goes out, and a happy man is the one who does not feel the need to immediately light it again”. “Exactly, that is to exalt the pleasure before it fades away”. Lord Brummel said that, or rather, would say that. This dandy par excellence is one of the characters of the book “Around the world in 80 cigars” written by Paolo Brinis, with illustrations by Riccardo Dalisi. A trip on an imaginary hot-air balloon, which will host a series of famous past and present characters who get on board one by one to talk, among other things, about cigars. The author does not therefore merely philosophize on the ontology of the cigar, but he also analyzes the world that surrounds it.
Road to excellence. The company was born in the region of Marche at the beginning of 2005, as a mirror image of its founder Fabio Peroni who, after a long experience in the field of sartorial clothes, decided to create his own company and present in the collections of the brand Montecore the jackets and coats he had created in his career. Thanks to his experience, curiosity and wide knowledge of the product, he created a brand which represents the world, his world and his passions. The motorbike world, travelling, textiles, photography, art and design are some of the fields explored by the designer to fill each collection with concrete symbolic values. A Montecore garment has two souls. Its conceptual and philosophical side can be traced back to the passions of the designer himself, while the technological development and the ongoing research of innovative materials gives the collections that quality which has been the distinctive feature of the brand for eleven years. Each garment has an infinite life cycle. The evolution of some iconic models like Motom, which was first born in 1996 from the fusion of the male sartorial world with motorcycle jackets, has marked season after season some turning points in the history of the brand. The stylistic code of the brand is made unique by the versatility of its products, which can be worn at any time of the day and can support the body in each movement or physical activity. Montecore has set the record in the use of innovative materials and cutting-edge textile technologies. In 2011, for the first time, not only in the history of Montecore, but also in the history of clothing the bi-stretch fabric was used in the production of the winter collection. The model which marked this crucial step was jacket 244. Today this model has evolved to the point of including rain system technology, which makes it water-repellent, and is also padded with the feather injection technique.
