Bar Tabac on Smith Street is probably my favorite restaurant. It is a little French bistro around the corner from my studio.

The Hoyt/Schermerhorn A/C subway stop is the station most frequently used for film and TV shoots, because there's an abandoned platform and tracks in the center of several working tracks. You never know what the station signs will say when you pull in!

The Whispering gallery in Grand Central Terminal, which has a unique acoustic property (when two people stand at diagonal arches and whisper, they can hear each other's voices "telegraphed" from across the way). Charles Mingus liked to play under the arches.

Hart Island. The largest publicly funded cemetery in the world, with approximately 850,000 bodies buried here. Hart Island is located just east of City Island, and is technically considered part of the Bronx. It once served as a prisoner of war camp and also housed a prison and women’s asylum. Burials here began taking place during the American Civil War.

Transport for London’s Lost Property Office - located at Baker Street since 1933 - receives up to 1,500 items per day. Other unlikely items include wedding dresses, a theatrical coffin, crutches & wheelchairs, a human skull, Rolex watches, a stuffed puffer fish, a park bench and a lawn mower.
