LIVING fearlessly A B2B Exclusive by Brittany Winkfield
Get ready! Virtue is back and ready for more with a message of hope. This life is full of surprises, mostly good ones, but some very tough and hard things to go through. In order to survive this journey, you have got to be fearless, can’t be timid! Once we recognize our need for help, for a Savior, for Jesus, we can draw strength from His example and His experience while here on earth. Then we can truly live our lives on purpose, fearlessly.
O
ver the last few years, the Virtue sisters, Karima Kibble, Ebony Holland and Heather Martin, have taken time to be with their families. In that time the women all became mothers, one experienced divorce and the family mourned three deaths of a sister, their father and their grandmother. Several times they were approached to come back out with new music, but it was just not the right time. A friend from their hometown of New Orleans, Louisiana approached them to join an independent label in 2013. They agreed as a family after much prayer. “Our true inspiration came from real life experiences that have touched us and changed us in ways that we could never have expressed before.”

With the goal to minister and share the love of Christ first and foremost, Virtue has been commissioned to reach the world through song. For those that may not know God or those who once knew Him and lost their way, Virtue’s music is preparing people for His soon return. With more than 20 years of professional experience, you can hear how their music has matured lyrically and vocally. “God will allow what He wants to take place in our careers. We are ready for this new season!” Growing up with their mother, Rebecca, in a single parent home, she instilled the love of Christ in them early on. Now, 40 years later, the values that were taught by their mother will forever be a part of them. Ebony and Karima were already in college by the time Heather joined them at Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama. Their mother moved to Alabama to be with her girls. She continues to be hands-on and a true blessing in the raising up of her grandchildren and travels with the group as she can. Young people have always made such a difference. Heather teaches music at her children’s school in Birmingham, Alabama. For a black history month project, she researched the Children’s Crusade of 1963 where hundreds of children took off from school and decided that they wanted to be a part of a movement. “I believe that God uses young people and he is going to use our children even more because knowledge has increased and He is going to raise up some Daniels to finish the work here. We just claim that the sky is the limit.” As mothers, Virtue sees a direct influence of God working in their children because He is working in them. “If you’re living the right life in front of your kids, they will be directly affected by it.” The fact that their children know who God is and they know how to pray and worship excites the girls of Virtue and touches them. “Even when you try to be rebellious, you still can’t forget it. If it’s in you, it’s in you.” The worst criminals in the world who were brought up in a Christian home will always know right from wrong. “The process of salvation is a daily thing.”
