Dear athletes, coaches, officials, spectators and BWF

Finally, Denmark can welcome the World of Badminton to Aarhus and the TotalEnergies BWF Thomas & Uber Cup Finals 2020. I have been looking forward to this too for a long time. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the tournament was postponed to October 2021.

Looking at the bright side, together with BWF, Badminton Danmark, the City of Aarhus, and Sport Event Denmark have had more time to plan a truly compelling tournament welcoming lots of sporting surprises. We hope to see new stars emerging on the world stage as well as seasoned competitors proving their endurance and longevity.

In the past years, Denmark has hosted a large number of major, international sporting events, especially World- and European Championships with much success. As an active member of the global sports community Sport Event Denmark thus hosts a wide variety of high-profile international events each year together with the national federations and host cities.

Denmark bids for and hosts major international sporting events to among other brand the country as a great sporting event nation and destination. TotalEnergies BWF Thomas and Uber Cup Finals 2020 is an event that builds on the legacy from the previous championships staged in Denmark.
