t was via my dad that I was first drawn into wine when I was introduced to its diversity and flavors. He was the one who showed me the different nuances and flavors of everything taste-centric. From all the different Chinese cuisines, Japanese, Indian, French and so on. This included the world of wines and of their terroirs

My wife and I spent time traveling to explore new cultures and meet local people, which inevitably led to sharing memories with them over food and wine. It was fascinating to see how food and wine were at the core of society across the globe.

Living for many years overseas, we also got into learning more about the wine regions and unique terroirs where these wines were from. Most importantly we felt how wine always managed to bring people together and help to bring to the festivities.

In particular we were drawn to the genuine and kind people who worked in the regions in Europe. Namely Burgundy, Piemonte and West Germany. These friendships formed, pushed us to go deeper into appreciating wine.

Collecting was an inadvertent result as one was always trying to find and source wines to be shared and enjoyed with friends. For us and many collectors, the joy comes not just from owning rare and valuable bottles but also from sharing our passion with others and experiencing the unique pleasures that each wine has to offer.

cuturi gallery

Cuturi Gallery is a next generation art gallery founded on the belief that art should be empowering and meaningful for everyone. A curator of change and a custodian of artistic diversity, Cuturi Gallery is a challenger of vested interests and of the status quo, pushing the boundaries of how galleries operate. The gallery connects broad audiences to high-quality art by diverse talents that speaks to the heart and tells the story of an undiscovered generation of aspiring artists that will have the art world aching for more. Diminishing aristocratic traditions and providing transparency in an art world that is at times daunting, Cuturi Gallery presents an inclusive and democratised art ecosystem which fosters greater collaboration, understanding and appreciation of art amongst artists, collectors and the industry at large. 61 Aliwal Street, Singapore 199937

guide for bidders

bidding in person

If you would like to experience the live excitement of an auction first hand and attend the auction room, you will need to register for a paddle in advance of the sale by filling out and submitting the dedicated Bidder Pre-Registration Form at your disposal on our website or upon request at office@bagherawines.com

online live bidding

Place your bids in real time through our online live bidding platform. Please register ahead of the date and connect to www.bagherawines.com on the day of the sale and follow the guide. B/Live, Baghera/wines’ live auction platform, will relay your bids and give you the opportunity to live the sale as if you were attending it in person. Feel the atmosphere in the room, follow the auction’s excitement and place your bids at your convenience – your bids will be instantly relayed to the auctioneer. B/Live is accessible from computers and mobile devices, all you need is to ensure that your connection is sufficient to support live video streaming. If not, you will still be able to bid live (without the video) as the current bid and next increment will be visible on the screen. You will need to register at least 48h prior to the sale on www.bagherawines.com to ensure registration is complete before the sale, and confirmed. You will be able to enter the sale and place your bids at your convenience. Please note that credit controls apply on these bids.

absentee bids

Leave your absentee bids ahead of the sale on our website and online-catalogue. Connect to www.bagherawines.com. You will need to register at least 48h prior to the sale on www.bagherawines.com to ensure registration is complete and your absentee bids are confirmed.

You may also give Baghera/wines instructions to bid on your behalf by writing to office@bagherawines.com. Our staff members will then try to purchase the lot(s) of your choice for the lower price possible. Please note this service is free, totally confidential and offered as a convenience to clients. Although our representative will make every effort, Baghera/wines will not be responsible for error or failure to execute bids.

telephone bidding

As an alternative service to bidders, Baghera/wines also offers the possibility to submit a telephone bids request. We will contact you during the sale, and a member of our team will bid live with you over the phone. Contact: office@bagherawines.com.

buyer’s premium

The maximum bid price that you provide during your bidding process is the hammer price only. If you are successful on a lot, a buyer’s premium of 22% will be added to the hammer price for each lot you buy. An additional GST tax of 8% will be levied on the hammer price AND buyer’s premium.

successful bids

Successful bidders will be notified and invoiced within a few days of the sale.
