PRESIDENT’S REPORT TO THE PROPRIETARY MEMBERS’ ANNUAL MEETING ON NOVEMBER 11, 2015
DECEMBER 2015
OUTSTANDING FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE The Club's impressive financial results in terms of gross revenues and overall operating efficiencies have been one for the books. Our consolidated revenues grew to a historical Php 249.71 Million, higher than last year's Php 208.72 Million. The trajectory growth of revenues complemented by good cost management and efficiency initiatives resulted in a record comprehensive income of Php 33.33 Million versus last year's Php 8.74 Million. This is the highest figure reported in the last 110 years the Club has been in operation. The patronage of Club members and their active sponsorship of guests in the Club continue to be the main driver of the Club's continued growth. Better accessibility to Baguio via SCTEX and TPLEX, reduced travel times to less than 4 hours. Add to that the image of prestige and exclusivity, excellent service and upgraded facilities and you have this year's excellent performance. The change in the academic calendar and school cycle has likewise hailed the return of business travel and family staycations. A SUPERCENTENARY CELEBRATION INDEED Please allow me to thank all of you for taking part in the Club's successful Super Centennial Celebration with the following highlights: Ÿ The Release of 110 doves last February 18, participated by members and their families, BCC employees and caddies, sealed our vow to preserve our environment and renew our relationship with Mother Nature. The dramatic and synchronized presentation as 193 employees marched on to form the acronym “BCC” and the number “110” symbolizes our joint commitment towards a vision for a greener world. To date, we were able to plant 1,453 trees along the fairways of the golf course as part of our project “110 TREES IN EVERY FAIRWAY.” With your support, we must be able to achieve the targeted 1,980 trees before the end of 2015. To take this
PRESIDENT’S REPORT TO THE PROPRIETARY MEMBERS’ ANNUAL MEETING ON NOVEMBER 11, 2015
environmental advocacy to the next level, we would like to encourage all members to take part in this endeavour which we plan to become a yearly undertaking. Thank you, too for your overwhelming support and participation in the 110TH MEMBER AND GUEST GOLF TOURNAMENT last February 4 to 6, 2015. One hundred sixteen (116) par busters teed off for the Super Centennial Golf Tournament and we are inspired to make it an annual tradition during the Club's founding anniversary every 18th of February.
Ÿ “THE SUPERCENTENARY MURAL,” which depicts some of the historical highlights of the Club, is now on display at the Ambassador Francisco V. Del Rosario Hall. It will be transferred to the MultiPurpose Hall upon its completion. Thanks to contemporary artists, Mr. Alladin Antiqueño and Azor Pazcoguin for rendering their time and talent to complete this elegant art piece. It is also at the Ambassador Francisco V Del Rosario Hall, that we are able to showcase a visual timeline of our Club's history through a Photo Exhibit/Gallery from the Club's own collection and contributions of photos from various members. Do not miss your chance to see the montage of the Club's and Baguio City's early beginnings on your next visit. We would like to thank Mr. Noel Kramer and various members for their contributions to the exhibit.
Ÿ We wish to thank the generous sponsors, donors, employees, volunteers and participants in the last Medical and Dental Mission, particularly, the Rotary Club of Baguio District 3790. This was held last March 21, 2015 at the MPH. Your generosity has helped provide complimentary primary dental, medical and optical care to 350 dependents of Club employees and caddies.
Ÿ Your Club has likewise hosted the complimentary distribution of wheel chairs and prosthetics to different barangays and families of BCC Employees. The assessment began last May 10 and the eventual distribution of assistive devices was completed last August 28. The Project was concluded in joint coordination with the Offices of Councilor Richard Cariño, the City of Baguio through Mayor Mauricio Domogan, Mr. Manuel Agcaoili of the Party-list group AKAPIN and the Church of the Latter Day Saints headed by Dr. Josephine Robredo-Bundoc. To the sponsors, donors, employees, volunteers and participants, we cannot thank you enough for your generosity and kindness. We really do rise by uplifting others. PREPARING THE CLUB FOR EMERGENCIES, CALAMITIES AND DISASTERS The Club commemorated the 25th year on July 16, 1990 of the Deadly Quake that hit Baguio and the Club, by holding a Full Simulation Drill last July 16, 2015. The Drill was spearheaded by the Club's Management, Health and Safety Department and trained BCC employees, in collaboration with partners and stakeholders in the private and local government sector. As a follow through, the Management is coming out this year with a full documentation of the Club's preparedness and response. Aside from the catastrophic 1990 Killer Quake, it will cover Emergency Preparedness during Calamities and Disasters. Equipping and enabling our people in times of crises will ensure BCC's readiness and response if and when emergencies and disasters strike. ENERGY AND WATER CONSERVATION PROGRAMS Managing our power and water resources will continue to be our primordial concern in attaining longterm sustainability of the Club for the succeeding years. Hence, the perpetuation of our best environmental practices and conservation efforts. Management has put on the front burner the rehabilitation of deep well number 1, as well as, the initiation of a strategic water reserve program. Part of this undertaking includes georesistivity testing for this year, and further studies to be explored on catching rainwater for use in operations, golf and irrigation through short-term and long-term projects. We will continue to work on improving our water resource management. This is imperative to ensure supply storage efficiency and water sustainability for the Club and to mitigate our single reliance on deep wells. BCC IS RATED “5STARS” IN THE LATEST DEPARTMENT OF TOURISM (DOT) ACCREDITATION I am happy to inform the general membership of the Club's recent 5-star accreditation by the Department of Tourism. Your patronage and unbridled support continues to fuel our mission to provide personalized and dedicated service and memorable and unique experiences for your family and guests.

PRESIDENT’S REPORT TO THE PROPRIETARY MEMBERS’ ANNUAL MEETING ON NOVEMBER 11, 2015
ONGOING PROJECTS TO ENHANCE MEMBER AND GUEST EXPERIENCE AND MAINTAIN THE VALUE OF THE CLUB'S SHARE As part of the Club's ongoing commitment to enhance the value of proprietary shares, and improve Members' and Guests' Experience, I am pleased to update you of the Club's ongoing projects. As we look forward to the opportunities for the next fiscal year 2015-2016 and beyond, we will continue to improve our services and facilities. Your Board has approved and is currently undertaking the renovation of the following projects: Ÿ Potenciano Ilusorio Wing (East) Verandah Ÿ Cotterman Dining Room Ÿ Repair of Hamada and Par 7’s exhaust system and restoration works Ÿ Multi-Purpose Hall The continuous upgrade of our facilities, complemented by the Club's remarkable and flagship products and unique brand of personalized service continue to differentiate us from other properties and Clubs OUTLOOK FOR 2016 While signs are pointing to indications of an improved occupancy and overall operations of the Club, we closed several outlets to pave the way for ongoing renovations to ultimately provide enhanced services and facilities to Members and guests. We will continue to maintain a conservative stance on operational costs and expenditures since majority of our resources will be channelled to fund the ongoing projects including the Multi-Purpose Hall (MPH) and in its conversion to a Convention Hall. While we are anticipating temporary setbacks, inconveniences and lost revenues due to the closures of outlets at the Potenciano Ilusorio Wing (East) Verandah including Par 7, Hamada Restaurant and the MPH for large family banquets and events, we will maintain the same level of service commitment that goes with the BCC's personalized brand of service delivery. Once these projects are completed, we are confident that it will bring our Club to a better growth trajectory and increased presence in the tourism map with stable and better financial performance while keeping itself anchored on its excellent service delivery and sound operations. I remain thankful for the steadfast commitment and indefatigable efforts of Management and the employees, the guidance of our Board, the Officers, the Committees, and the invaluable support and trust of our members and stakeholders. I wish to acknowledge as well our partners in the private and the local government sector. These stakeholders have all played a significant contribution to many of our milestones and programs which you will find in the succeeding pages and Committee Reports. We will continue to be guided by the basic tenets of the triple bottom line: To envision a Club that recognizes and strives to balance productive performance, service excellence with responsible corporate citizenship and environmental sustainability. This, I believe, will be the key formula to replicate the Club's continued success. As we march forward to our 111th year, our legacy of beauty and excellence continues and we are proud to be a part of this journey. “One Vision. One Direction. One Club.”

DECEMBER 2015
The Club’s campaign on carrying on a legacy of beauty and excellence set the tone for the Club’s operations this year. The unprecedented financial performance for fiscal year 2014-2015 and the strength of successful programming in dining, banquet, events, golf, fitness and recreation is a credit to the entire Board, the Committees, Management and employees that continuously strive to make the Club an ultimate staycation where members and guests choose to spend their leisure time with families and friends. Even as Typhoon Lando rampaged all of Luzon which left the Club with damages at its wake, we continue to do clearing and restoration. Renovation carries on at a challenging pace at the Multi-purpose Hall, the East Verandah and Cotterman Dining Room including repair and restoration at Par 7 and the Hamada Restaurant. We are also mobilizing for the rehabilitation of our deep wells as part of the Club’s development strategy and response to the water crisis. To date, we are undertaking migration of our Wi-Fi service from BayanTel to PLDT, to provide better connectivity and bandwidth. With all access roads to Baguio cleared and open for motorists, we enjoin you to come up and experience the cuddle weather in Baguio and take advantage of using your Complimentary Room Night privilege before they expire on December 23 of this year. Most weekdays of November are still open and our weekends are filling up fast. Join us as we unveil the transformation of the East Verandah and the Cotterman Room this November. Par 7 and the East Verandah Restrooms are getting a reboot. We are targeting its opening by the time we gear up for the 66th Annual Fil-Am Golf Tourney. To complement the upgrade of our dining outlets, we completed the training of the staff for 5-star service and fostering a culture of innovation at the Club. We hail the addition of two more talented chefs to our fold, whose specialty covers Italian and Spanish cuisine, which is sure to boost our buffet spreads and offer something new and flavorful for our members’ discriminating palate. It has been a truly rewarding year for the Club. Hamada Restaurant made it again to the roster of Philippine Tatler’s Top 100 Restaurants in the country. At the labor front, last September 7, 2015, the Management and Rank and File Union expeditiously and historically concluded the negotiation for the renewal of the Collective Bargaining Agreement covering a period of three years from July 01, 2015 to July 01, 2017. We successfully clinched the 5-star accreditation of the Club this year as a Resort vis-à-vis with recent honor of winning the ASEAN Green Hotel Award (valid for 2 years from 2016 to 2018) based on international standards for assessment. I thank the Management team and all employees for its cooperation, and contributions to the Club’s achievements and environmental advocacy. We will continue to undertake improvements that will stimulate member’s patronage and guest usage. Success brings its own set of challenges but with your constant feedback and evaluation of our services and facilities, we will continue to pursue innovation at the Club and look forward to another eventful year as we continue to develop and strengthen programs and services to exceed the expectations of our dynamic membership. As we march forward to our 111th year, In honor, we continue to SERVE.

Once again, the Employees Sportsfest was a successful avenue for team spirit, fun and relaxation, camaraderie and sportsmanship.
