Girls enjoyed paired reading, discussing questions about the text and acting out key scenes. They used the text to locate quotes in order to support their ideas about particular characters.

The Little Elephant Today, as I gazed at the beautiful river, I noticed a female elephant. It was all alone and it didn’t seem very happy.
