Erasmus+ Different Cultures On The Same Stage First Annual of Turkey Team
On 23-29 January 2015, we had the opening meeting in Fe’jer , Hungary.

For the project, we played our theatre , A Touch of Peace, and recorded it.
We made the second meeting on 12-17th April.
On 11-17 October we made our third meeting in Turkey.

Erasmus+ “Different Cultures On The Same Stage”
The Article of Our Headteacher Erasmus + projects are quite important in terms of our way to becoming a member of EU countries , for spreading past experinces of Turkey today, improving our life styles and cultures. Also these projects are effective in eliminating in the misunderstanding of other countries toward to our country mutually. From this point of view , it is important to understand each other correctly (for all partners ; Turkish , Italians,
Hunagrians and Romanians). And also it’s a requirement to utilize mutually accumulation both educational and cultural issues. Our project team has made observations about the functioning of educational activities in these countries. Since we are a vocational school , we have focused on the analysis of methods applied in educations. We have an opportunity to observe democracy and human rights in
European countries. During our study , we have a chance to explain Turkish culture and civilization , our society based on love and tolerance approach. We also share our work and our experiences with the public. We hope that an international project carried out in our school to contribute to understand each other correctly , to eliminate prejudices, to world peace and education activities.
We made a presentation of our Project to the District Protocol Dissemination activities within the scope of our project, we held an introductory meeting of the project with the participation of Mr.Ali Hamza PEHLİVAN , former District Governor, District Education Manager Halit DEMİRTAŞ, and district protocol , journalists, teachers and students. The school project coordinator , Murat YİĞİTTEKİN made a presentation of our project and he answered the question of participants. Governor Ali Hamza PEHLİVAN emphasized in his speech that Erasmus+ projects are quite effective in the success of students and their future perspectives.

The Opening Meeting of Project Was Held in Hungary The first meeting , project coordinators meeting , was held inFe’jer , Hungary amongs the dates of 23-29th January. Headmasters and coordianator teachers from Turkey , Italy and Romania were hosted warmly by the teachers of Szabolcs Vezer Gimnasium. Our headmaster , Ragıp Ekrem ERDOĞAN , Project Coordinator Murat YİĞİTTEKİN and English Language Teacher Kezban ASLAN participated in the meeting.

We discussed the general details of our project , financial sections of the project , made decisions about what should be done in the project, activities that must be done. We arranged the schedule and tasks that each country would have to do it. We determined the exact date of other meetings. After meeting we visited Budepest ,the capital city of Hungary, with the Hungarian colleagues.
Creating An Erasmus+ Corner At School We created an Erasmus +Corner which is so important for the announcement our project to students , parents and teachers. In Erasmus + Corner addition with our students
and teachers , one of our student’s parent helped to create the corner. Also we bought a LED TV to make announcement of the project t , the show works of the project to students. Parents of students helped us to create Erasmus+ corner.

Story Contest: “ A Story Of Tolerance” We must set a contest about “A Story of Tolerance” within the project. We made a jury from our teachers. And we announced the contest. Our Turkish Literature Teacher Musa KUNDAKÇI, Accounting Teacher Murat YİĞİTTEKİN and Mathematic Teacher Şeymanur ORÇAN took place in jury.
There are seven students in contest. They gave us their stories. And Jury chose the story was written by a student named Zeynep DANA. The Story’s name was Tolerance & Family. During the tourism week ceremony, the award of story contest winner was given by city council member Ali KIRAÇ to winner student.
The Winner of Story Contest
First story of Story Contest about “ A Story of Tolerance” TOLERANCE & FAMILY Ali lives in a small town with his father , mother , sisters and brothers, and his grandmother too. But his parents have difficulty in looking after his grandmother because she is too old to take care of herself. Besides , she is tortured by Ali’s parents. Even Ali has heard that his parents said to her we wish you were dead so we would get away from you. And Ali doesn’t realize the bad behaviours which his parents treat to his grandmother. Because he learns everything ,good or bad, by watching his parents. So he models his parents. He also thinks that elder people must die. One day , while he is walking in the village , an old man wants his help. But Ali doesn’t help him because he thinks that old people are useless in life and also they are obstacles to young people ,but he doesn’t know the truth that he will grow older one day. When Ali walks in the wood one day ,he get lost. He doesn’t know what to do and he continues to walk aimlessly without a direction. It is getting dark and Ali feels desparetly. The moment in which he thinks he is hopeless , he realizes someone coming to him and he will be so happy. But he is surprised after realizing that this is the old man who wanted to help from him, and he pulls himself back. The old man understands that Ali gets lost he tells the direction to him to go back home. Ali is so surprised because the old man helps him even though he doesn’t help the old man , so he is so embrassed and apologizes for his behaviour and tells to the old man the behaviour that his parent did to his grandmother. The old man begins to tell a story after that. ‘’Once upon a time , there is a too bad
tradition when people are grown older, they are taken to the woods and are left to wild animals. And therefore , young people have rights to get foods which are so scarce. It is forbidden to keep elders at home so no one can hide his old mother or father, they are afraid of being denounced to King. Anyway someone wants to take his old father to the woods and leave him there. It is the winter time. The man , his old father and his little son go to the woods together. When leaving the old father and returning to home , the little son realizes that he has forgatten his sledge with his grandfather. He says to his father to go back and take his sledge back, but his father doesn’t care this. And then the little son says ‘I must take my sledge , otherwise what will pick up you the woods when you get older.’ And he understands that his father’s fate is going to be his fate , too. So he goes to his father and they all come back home together . They hide his old father in the hayloft. After a while , there is a contagious disease between animals. Animals are beginning to die day by day. The old man says to his son : ‘ Seperate the sick animals and pepare medicine from some herbs.’ The son makes what his old father said to him. And the number of death is decreased between his animals. Most of his animals are survived in the end. When the Festival of Sacrifices comes , villagers start to sacrifice. The old man gives advice to his son : ’The number of animals in the village has been decreased recently and you don’t have so many animals. Do not sacrifice this year.’ Indeed , there are a few animals to work in a few months , but the man who listens to his old father’s advice has animals. When spring comes to closer , there is no
cereals to make bread. But the real problem is that, there is no cereals to be used for as seeds. Villagers don’t know what to crop to the field or how to prepare the crop of next year. The old man gives advices to his son , too : ‘ My son , the roof of the hayloft is full of straw. Take them out and re-use them. You can make use of them as seeds.’ This family is the one which the old man lives in has seeds. The whole villagers think that this young man is a wizard and they begin to watch out his home and finally they have learned that the old man is alive. Viilagers have complained the young man to the King. Firstly , the King is too angry because the young man doesn’t obey the rules. However after the King learns what’ s happening , he accepts that a good and vise advice can change everything and makes a difference. So the King make a new law regarding old people. From now on , children have to look after their old mothers and fathers. They have to behave respectfully, because We will learn a lot of things from their valuable experiences.’’ At the end of the story ; the old man gives another advice to Ali: ‘ Being tolerant does not lose anything to people , on the contary ; being tolerant has many advanteges which we can make use of. If we are tolearnt people , we will get a lot of people to our lives instead of losing them and being alone. The concept of tolerance has to be learned at an early age.people have to be tolerant and respect each other .’ After this story , Ali gets the message what must be learned and thanks to old man and goes on his way.

Two students sang “O Sole Mio” When we were working on theatre, two students wanted to prepare a surprise to our partner schools. They wanted to sing Hungarian, Italian and Romanian songs. Fatma DAĞLI and her brother Cuma DAĞLI prepared themselves to sing. As their teachers we supported them.

Second Meeting of Project: We were at ROME The second meeting of Project was in Rome ( the capital city of Italy ). It was at 12-17 April 2015. There were five teacher at meeting from our school: headteacher Ekrem ERDOĞAN, Project coordinator and accounting teacher Murat YİĞİTTEKİN, Turkish Literature teacher Musa KUNDAKÇI, Biology Teacher Kenan İLERİ and English Teacher Kezban ASLAN. At first day in programme, there was a nice welcome ceremony from students of LICEO IMMANUEL KANT. After welcome ceremony and presentations of Italy, Students offered some special foods in Italy and they show around the school.
The second day, we went some cultural and historical places in Rome. Firstly we saw an amphitheater COLOSEUM. After Coloseum, we saw PALATINO HILL and some similar places. At lunch, we tried some specialities of Italy. In third day of programme, we were at school again for meeting. We had a presentation time about 3rd meeting in Turkey programme. And we showed our videos to other teachers. We discussed programme of 3rd meeting with other teacher friends. There were five teacher at meeting from our school: headteacher Ekrem ERDOĞAN, Project coordinator and accounting teacher Murat YİĞİTTEKİN, Turkish Literature teacher Musa KUNDAKÇI, Biology Teacher Kenan İLERİ and English Teacher Kezban ASLAN.
Last day of programme was wonderful. We went to VATIKAN. Vatikan is another country which is in countrry. We saw the biggest catholic church and museum.

We have guests: Our friends were in Göksun We had guests from Hungary, Romania and Italy between 11-16 October 2015. There were five teachers from each country. Our guests came at 11th of October. We waited them at Kahramanmaraş Airport. And they came their hotel in Göksun. At our guests’ second day in Turkey, there was a welcome ceremony from our students. Students in project team introduced our town, our city and our country. After presentation we made Project meeting. At third day, We went to sightseeing in NevşehirKapadokya. In this sightseeing, our guests had a chance to see our cultural heritage.

At fourth day, firstly we visited The Education Coordinator of Göksun Halit DEMİRTAŞ at his office. He gave some information about education system in Turkey to our guests. After this, we visited the governer of Göksun Cengiz AYHAN at governer office. After courtesy visits, we had a small picnic and Turkish Cultural Night. At last day, We visited city center of Kahramanmaraş. We explained history of Kahramanmaraş. They saw our national bazaar. They liked very much. With pride of representing our country successfully, we sent off our guests at 16th of October.

The Article of Turkish Literature Teacher Musa KUNDAKÇI People have some opportunities through their lives. Opportunities like improving themselves, gaining the concept of tolerance, getting to know new cultures and people , seeing the view of their culture from other cultures , exchanging ideas with colleagues from other countries … This project has been such an opportunity for me. Within this poject, we held our second visit to Italy, where is the one of the partner schools. After having a few meeting , we had chance to get to know the Italian cuture and people. We visited the historic city of Rome with the guidance of Italian colleagues, chatted with Italians , learned their food cultures and social lives. We watched the activities prepared by their students.As a result of this project I gained great values in terms of tolerance, cultural and professional sense as a teacher.
