vivere. E’ stato anche necessario decidere come realizzare questo particolare gioco con le videochiamate che inserivano i vari attori sul monitor. Poi ci siamo posti il problema di come usare la cinepresa che riprendeva sempre uno stesso soggetto: Emma sola in casa che corre sul tapis rulant tutto il giorno. Poteva esserci il rischio che il film risultasse noioso. Di qui la necessità di studiare inquadrature differenti, di incrociarle, di giocare con l’immagine riflessa.

In questi mesi su Cielo presenti una rassegna di film sull’amore che trattano storie diciamo non solo tradizionali, amori senza barriere. Come mai questo ruolo di “presentatrice”? Mi è piaciuto accompagnare il pubblico alla visione di questi film, una selezione molto varia che vuole sottolineare la totale libertà di amare in ogni tipo di relazione. E poi mi ha consentito di intervallare con diverse coreografie di ballo… Progetti? Di nuovo dietro la macchina da presa? Per ora sto accompagnando il lancio di Tapirulàn. Ma poiché ho anche un altro grande amore, il ballo appunto, mi piacerebbe fare un programma dove posso danzare. E perché no anche cantare.

We met the wonderful Claudia Gerini in Romagna, currently busy promoting her directorial debut, Tapirulàn. The Roman actress behind the camera also plays the role of the heroine, Emma, who is constantly seen running on the treadmill, exercising even while she works. Having confined herself to her home, Emma’s contact with the outside world is restricted to the internet and her job as an online counsellor. Through video calls, she is met with a hurting humanity that are confined to their homes; suffering individuals whose lives seem to be lived remotely. How did you start directing? When someone suggested I start directing, I instinctively declined. However, the idea stayed in my head and niggled away at me. I thought to myself, why not try? Of course, technically it was all new. I was used to being on the other side of the camera. But I would say that it was all very instinctive. As soon as I decided to do it, I found myself interested in all aspects of the set. The thing I loved the most was working with the actors. I really enjoyed playing around with their quirks. And I must say, they were incredibly generous. They were really themselves around me. I loved choosing everything. It was a 360° creative journey.
