PROVIDENCE COLLEGE

COLLEGE SHANK B.S. / B.A.

OAK

These letters represent the degree that a Providence College student will earn after his/her four years: Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science.

The oak leaves are a symbol of the knowledge that we gain here at Providence College and carry on with us in all of our new endeavors.

VERITAS

1917

The Providence College motto, meaning “truth.” Hidden inside the flame of the torch is the number 16, representing the class of 2016.

In honor of the year that Providence College was founded.

LAUREL

The laurel leaves symbolize the accomplishment that we have completed by graduating, and how we will be a part of Providence College even after we graduate.

THE STONE

The black onyx is one of the predominant school colors and, furthermore, this stone continues to be an essential aspect to the traditional class rings.

CLASS SHANK PROVIDENCE SKYLINE

Incorporates both buildings on our campus as well as buildings in the surrounding city. Within the skyline is the moon at the phase it will be in on the night that we graduate.

HUXLEY AND EATON

Both of these streets are frequently referenced and important fixtures of our school. Huxley was acquired by the school during our time here at Providence College.

RUANE

The newest addition on campus during our sophomore year. Within this building we used state-of-the-art classrooms to take courses towards our unique development of western civilization program.

THE ROSARY BEADS These rosary beads represent the Dominican tradition that is an intricate part of our college community. There are sixteen beads which represent the year in which we graduate.

THE NEWPORT BRIDGE

Symbolizes our freshman year trip at the end of orientation. Our class was one of the last classes to have this tradition.

OUR LOGO

This symbol is unique to our class. It represents a sixteen as well as the letters P and C. We chose this symbol to carry on a theme through our premiere and Senior Ring Weekend.

SENIOR RING WEEKEND DEAR CLASS OF 2016, The 2016 Senior Ring Weekend Committee has worked diligently to make sure our class ring collection was special enough to represent the high quality of our 2016 class. We wanted to design rings that connected with our class and documented our experience here at PC. The committee along with Balfour spent hours hand designing the collection of rings that will be presented to you. Our hope is to commemorate our time at PC with a ring that can be worn forever. Being part of Friar Nation is something so unique that there should be constant reminder of how special it is to be part of the PC family and community. Along with the ring reveal our SRW committee is responsible for all the events and entertainment that will create a lasting and time-holding memory. Our ring is a timeless reminder of our SRW event and our time here as students. Investing in a ring is choosing to forever be a Friar. We are a family and this ring is a symbol of our never-ending friendships. With love, SRW Committee Class of 2016
