THE CRIMSON TIDE TRADITION The University Supply Store is proud to participate in the Official UA Ring tradition. Official UA Rings to be presented at the Spring Ceremony will spend 24 hours in Denny Chimes™, our beloved campus landmark erected in 1929 as an enduring symbol of Alabama’s first university. Rings will be placed in Denny Chimes™ at 6:31 p.m. the night prior to the ceremony and will be removed at 6:31 p.m. the following day to begin the ceremony. The time relates to 1831 in military time, the year of the University’s founding. At the ceremony, rings will be presented to students individually by University President Stuart R. Bell. A reception will follow the ceremony. The Official Ring is a time-honored tradition commemorating the University’s history, stories and symbols universally relevant to Alabama graduates. Rings are reserved exclusively for students who have achieved at least 60 credit hours in good standing. The Official Class ring marks this academic milestone and the ring ceremony provides students and their guests with the opportunity to celebrate this achievement. Students who order their Official UA Rings are eligible to participate in this inspiring and unique ceremony. For more information about the Official UA Ring, visit any location of the University Supply Store or refer to supestore.ua.edu or balfour.com/ua.
