WeLCoMe Welcome to the club Leadership Summit 2016, supported by toro, e-Z-go, Golf Genius software, club inc. and Vitalizer Luxury. the summit gathers the industry’s leading professionals from europe, the middle east and asia and engages them in an innovative discussion revolving around a central theme. this year, at our fifth annual summit, the theme is “clubs Of the Future”. throughout the event we will be looking at innovations and ideas from the most successful business models and adapting them to the private club industry. the summit will provide attendees with an invaluable opportunity to learn from renowned industry experts from around the world and network with fellow managers from some of the most prestigious clubs in europe. it should prove to be a hugely motivating occasion with countless opportunities to address the unique challenges faced by private golf clubs, as well as share effective business solutions and strategies. every year we incorporate a fundraising initiative into the summit, raising money and awareness for causes that are close to our hearts. this year we will be campaigning on behalf of a charity called Golfing4life. We are thrilled to present an array of very special auction prizes, which will be available to both delegates, and a select number of invited non-delegates, to bid for during monday evening’s charity dinner. We would like to thank delegates, invited guests, auction providers and our partners for their combined support in making the club Leadership Summit a pioneering and standout industry event and look forward to welcoming you all to Lord’s cricket Ground in December. niall flanagan chairman club Leadership Summit

tom has worked in golf for almost 20 years, including almost 7 years at the european tour and briefer periods at various sports marketing agencies, including imG. During his time at the ‘tour’ he ran numerous tournaments throughout europe, including heading up the site team at the ryder cup in 2006. after leaving the ‘tour’ in 2007 he has continued to work primarily in golf developing strategy and running events for brands such as Sap, UpS, turkish airlines, Genworth, barclaycard and aberdeen asset management. tom grew up in a traditional golfing family but realised golf needs to modernise to compete with other sports in the future. this led him to create SpriNt6GOLF, which he launched in June 2016. SpriNt6GOLF is a new more dynamic golf format involving 6-hole games on a 30-second Shot clock, focused around a free phone app. tom and his team’s goal is to take SpriNt6GOLF to the professional tours around the world knowing it will spark a whole new wave of golf fans, and have a very positive impact on the sport.

chriStiNa FraNcO memberShip DirectOr, SOUth KeNSiNGtON cLUb the first thing i get asked is “why” i want to go to the North pole. the second is why i want to go on my own. there is never a good reason when explaining a passion. the North pole has been just that, a passion. ever since hearing the first stories of men who slipped into frozen sleeping bags at night exhausted after a long day of hauling, i wanted to go there, i wanted the privilege if travelling in one of the greatest wildernesses imaginable; challenging my body and mind to do so against the odds. i face a far greater comfort then they ever did and a certainty at least, that my journey will not end with a plunge into the molten core of the earth. a dream can only become reality when your belief and desire are coupled with the confidence that comes from experience. Working as a guide in italy and africa has given me a vast body of experiences as well as allow me to have chunks of time to dedicate to personal challenges climbing and racing in a variety of environments. it was not until a few years ago that after participating in, and winning, the polar race 2005 to the magnetic North pole with team mate Justin packshaw that i started to focus on growing that dormant dream of reaching the true North pole.
