EMBROIDERY

We offer embroidery artwork design, embroidered samples and visual design boards showcasing products with embroidery.

TRIM, CORDING & BRAIDING

Adding trim to garments offers that individual touch for those wanting to stand out. Options we offer include bound, taped, corded edges and inserted braid trim in a huge array of colours.

STRIPES

Adding stripe trim in one or two stripe options to the neck, cuffs, welt and stolling of all our knitwear provides added personalisation which can either complement or contrast with blazer and jacket trims.

LINING

Jacquard lining adds the quality finishing touch to many of our tailored blazer and suiting jackets. For a complete bespoke look, we also offer bespoke coloured lining options to suit your requirements.

Sustainability at Banner

Since our journey began, we’ve had a clear vision. We want every garment we produce to make a positive impact on our planet, the people we work with and the students who ultimately wear our products every day.

Our sustainability journey began in 2019 when we set about embracing our responsibility to do the right thing for our planet and future generations. We decided to transform our approach to sustainability and put these challenges right at the heart of our business, starting with our products.

Our six sustainability pillars

To help us achieve our sustainability goals, we’ve developed a very clear and holistic sustainability strategy built on six key pillars.

Fast forward to today and we’re now proud to offer our customers the biggest and broadest range of schoolwear and sportswear that’s responsibly sourced and manufactured with sustainable materials.

Supply Chain

We ensure the overseas supplier factories producing our brochure stock are all Sedex members and audited to ensure compliance with Sedex 4 Pillar / SMETA Audits, which includes extended business ethics and environmental measures.

Environment

We’re focused on reducing our environmental footprint and maintaining our carbon-neutral status. We’re also working with our supplier factories to reduce water consumption, waste and conserve energy.

Product

We design and source the best products sustainably and have launched a full range of innovative eco products made from recycled polyester and biodegradable viscose.

In September 2021, we joined the Better Cotton initiative to improve global cotton production for people, the environment, and the industry’s future. Better Cotton aims to enhance cotton communities and preserve the environment, using a mass balance system for sourcing that isn’t directly traceable to end products.

Our goal is to source 50% of our cotton as Better Cotton by 2025. As of December 31, 2022, we’ve achieved 21.52% Better Cotton uptake, while also conserving 126,842,100 liters of water and preventing 77 kg of pesticides.

Community

We’re giving back to local community projects and charities with fundraising and our Gift of Time volunteering programme for employees.

We are also proud to launch our own charity - Banner Foundation. Inspiring projects that support children from all backgrounds to thrive and prosper. Visit bannerfoundation.org.uk for more information.

Customer

We actively engage with our customers to get their views on eco issues, as well as record and act on their feedback to shape our future strategy and green initiatives. We’re also supporting their sustainability journey and delivering a faultless service.

People

We ensure our employees’ voices are heard through an annual engagement survey and “pulse” surveys to ensure they feel “safe, supported and understood” and also through a structured programme of well-being, mental health support and engagement activities.

This coming year, 75% of our product range will be produced using sustainable fabrics, meaning we are even closer to our goal of offering a 100% Eco product range by 2025!
