Bringing Pets to our Centres Pet Policy and Procedures
Pets are welcome At BaptistCare we support and encourage family and friends to bring their pets to our centres. Visiting pets are a fantastic way for residents to connect with friends, family and employees, while offering a source of comfort and enjoyment. We also encourage animal therapies and activities for our residents, to promote their well-being and enhance their quality of life. Pets belonging to family members, friends, employees and volunteers are welcome to visit our residents. Please supervise your pet at all times and also follow the safety guidelines in this brochure.
Why we encourage pets We love pets whether owned by the centre or visiting with family and friends. The benefits include: • Reduced anxiety • Providing emotional comfort • Stimulating memories • Assisting communication • Enabling residents to interact with each other and visitors
Bringing your pet for a visit Before bringing your pet to visit our centre, please consider the safety of our residents who may have limited mobility, or are unable to react quickly and may not enjoy the presence of animals. We ask that you speak with the Residential Manager to discuss if your pet is suitable for visiting. We also ask that you consider the safety guidelines to ensure you, your pet and our residents have a safe and happy visit.
