Share your hobbies and interests with us so we can help you continue to enjoy them. We’re always open to new ideas and would love to accommodate your favourite pastimes.

You’re becoming part of our BaptistCare community, so you can look forward to a unique, stimulating and enjoyable future – one that will suit you perfectly.

A personalised approach

With 80 years of caring, we know it’s the small things in life that can make your day.

By choosing BaptistCare, you can be assured of receiving a personalised approach to all aspects of your care.

We understand that although moving is a big step, it is made a lot easier with the help of a supportive team that actually listens to what you need in order for you to feel at home.

From the moment you are warmly welcomed at BaptistCare, we will be putting your needs first. Our caring and compassionate team members will be looking for ways to help you feel comfortable and settle in to your new home.

Accommodation options

Our residential care provides accommodation and care so that you or your loved one can maintain health and wellbeing.

Before moving into residential care, an assessment by an Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) will need to be done. The outcome of the ACAT will advise what accommodation suits your needs.

BaptistCare can support with three different styles of residential care, each one there to support you or your loved one’s individual needs.

Respite care

Short term accommodation if you or your loved one need a place to stay while recovering from a hospital stay.

If you or your loved one are normally cared for at home, respite can also be used to give your carer a break.

Standard residential care

If you or your loved one are no longer able to live independently at home, we can provide permanent accommodation and support.

Our homes cater for all levels of care, so we can support you as care needs change over time.

Memory support/dementia care

Most of our homes offer dedicated rooms and areas that provide a safe, secure and comfortable setting to meet the specific needs of people living with dementia or cognitive impairment.

We provide therapeutic activities designed to enrich the lives of residents living with dementia, such as pet therapy, music therapy, arts and crafts, cooking classes and gardening.

Respite rooms are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed at all homes.

How we can support you

Our residential care includes a range of services that will meet your care, comfort and wellbeing needs.

Many of these services are personalised to meet your or your loved one’s specific needs. Although some services may vary across our homes, you can always be sure of:

24-hour quality healthcare

Ensuring your health needs are met is our number one priority. You will receive 24-hour care from our team of nurses, carers and support staff. We provide regular support from general practitioners, occupational therapists, physiotherapists and other health professionals.

You can also access your preferred medical practitioners, and we can support you with this.

Personal care

Our team of carers will assist with showering, getting dressed and going to the toilet (including incontinence aids). They will also help with eating, communication and moving around the home.

You can access hairdressing and beauty therapy services for an additional cost at on-site salons in all of our homes.

Delicious meals

Our chefs prepare tasty, quality meals on-site daily using fresh ingredients. Seasonal menus ensure there are lots of nutritious choices and allow us to meet any special dietary requirements.

Active social program

We embrace your interests and explore activities that give purpose and enjoyment to your day.

Enjoy bingo, arts and crafts, gardening and outings within the local community. If you prefer to relax with a book or watch TV, that’s okay too.

Chaplains

We take a holistic approach to care and look at the whole person: body, soul and spirit. Our chaplains and pastoral care services support our residents’ spiritual health.

While BaptistCare is a Christian organisation, we are inclusive and welcome everyone regardless of cultural, ethnic or religious background.

Our chaplains are open and approachable. They recognise and respect each person’s spirituality and strive to support your ongoing search for meaning, hope and purpose.

Access residential care

Having someone on hand to assist you through the process of accessing residential care can be a huge help.

At BaptistCare, we have a team of aged care experts who are trained to help families through the process.

They are knowledgeable across all aspects of the journey, from fees, waitlists and lifestyle activities, to Enduring Power of Attorney and Guardianship and other areas where you may need some independent advice.

A big part of their role is alleviating the stress and uncertainty that often comes with making decisions about aged care.

Taking the time to understand you and your loved one’s needs and preferences, our aged care experts offer one-on-one support, so you always feel respected, understood and listened to.

Preparing to move in

We understand the prospect of moving can be daunting.

We also recognise that such a change can impact family and friends, which is why we are here to help you and your loved ones prepare for the move into residential care.

A Welcome Handbook will include more information about your BaptistCare home, as well as a moving checklist of the things to consider.

You will also receive details about costs, your responsibilities as a resident, our responsibilities to you and much more.

We will then get ready for your arrival! You or your loved one will be warmly welcomed and supported as you settle into your new home.

The room will have all the essentials, including a comfortable bed and storage for clothes. We encourage you to personalise the room with your own special belongings.

There’s room for a favourite chair or bookshelf to display photos and other keepsakes. We want you to be comfortable and happy in your new home.

For more information about what is available at each home, please contact our Customer Centre on 1300 275 227 or visit baptistcare.org.au
