Residential Aged Care

When it comes to Residential Aged Care, we’re people first.
At BaptistCare, we are committed to providing person-centred care that promotes independence, quality of life, and a sense of belonging. Our homes are strong and supportive communities, with caring, attentive staff who will welcome and support you as you settle in, and provide ongoing, tailored care to meet your individual needs and preferences.
We understand that when you move home it’s a big step and there’s a lot to talk about. So we want you to know that we will listen – it’s one of our greatest strengths.
We also know that everyone is different. We’re all individuals with our own needs and preferences. That’s why we make it our priority to listen to you and really get to know you beyond your immediate health needs.
You’re becoming part of our BaptistCare community, so you can look forward to a unique and enjoyable lifestyle – one that will suit you perfectly.
A personalised approach
With over 80 years of caring, we know it’s the small things in life that can make your day.
By choosing BaptistCare, you can be assured of receiving a personalised approach to all aspects of your care.
We understand that although moving is a big step, it is made a lot easier with the help of a supportive team that listens to what you need in order for you to feel at home.
From the moment you are warmly welcomed at BaptistCare, we will be putting your needs first. Our caring and compassionate team members will be looking for ways to help you feel comfortable and settle in to your new home.
Accommodation options
Our Residential Aged Care homes provide accommodation and care, enabling you to maintain your health and wellbeing.
Before moving into a Residential Aged Care home, an assessment by the My Aged Care assessors is required. The outcome of this assessment will recommend the type of services or accommodation that best suits your needs.
BaptistCare offers three different styles of residential care, each tailored to support the individual needs of you or your loved one.
Standard residential care
If you or your loved one can no longer live independently at home, we can provide permanent accommodation and support.
Our homes cater to all levels of care, allowing us to support you as your care needs change over time.
Respite care
Short-term accommodation for those who need a place to stay while recovering from a hospital visit.
If you or your loved one are usually cared for at home, respite can also be used to give your carer a break.
Memory support/dementia care
Most of our homes have dedicated rooms and spaces that offer a safe, secure, and comfortable environment to meet the specific needs of individuals living with dementia or cognitive impairment. We provide therapeutic activities designed to enrich the lives of residents living with dementia, including pet therapy, music therapy, arts and crafts, cooking classes, and gardening.
Respite rooms are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed at all homes.
Your life at BaptistCare
24-hour quality healthcare
Ensuring that your health needs are met is our number one priority. Your dedicated care team will meet with you and your family to plan how we can best support your choices, preferences and needs. You’ll have access to a range of health professionals on-site, including Registered Nurses on duty 24/7. Rest assured – we are here to provide the care you need, whenever you might need it.
Personal care
Our team of carers can assist with showering, getting dressed and going to the toilet (including incontinence aids). They can also assist with eating, communication, and mobility around the home.
You can access hairdressing and beauty therapy services at an additional cost at on-site salons located in all our homes.
Delicious meals
Our chefs prepare fresh meals onsite every day, using high-quality, seasonal ingredients that we know you’ll love. Enjoy these meals in our dining room with friends or in the comfort of your room. Whatever your preferences or dietary requirements may be, we’re here to support you.
Active social program
At any age, it’s important to have meaning and purpose, and to have fun.
Our Lifestyle Coordinators are dedicated to curating both physically and mentally engaging activity calendars that cater to your unique enjoyment, preferences, and abilities. Enjoy activities like bingo, painting, gardening, and community outings. If you prefer to relax with a book or watch TV, that’s perfectly fine too.

Accessing Residential Aged Care
Having someone to help you navigate the process of accessing Residential Aged Care can be very beneficial.
At BaptistCare, we have a team of aged care experts who are trained to help families through the process.
They are knowledgeable across all aspects of the journey, from fees and waitlists to lifestyle activities, Enduring Power of Attorney, Guardianship, and other areas where you may need independent advice.
A big part of their role is alleviating the stress and uncertainty that often comes with making decisions about aged care.
Taking the time to understand you and your loved one’s needs and preferences, our aged care experts offer one-on-one support, so you always feel respected, understood and listened to.

Preparing to move in
We understand the prospect of moving can be daunting. We also recognise that such a change can impact family and friends, which is why we are here to help you and your loved ones prepare for the transition to Residential Aged Care.
A welcome handbook will include more information about your BaptistCare home, as well as a moving checklist of the things to consider.
You will also receive details about costs, your responsibilities as a resident, our responsibilities to you and much more.
We will then prepare for your arrival. You or your loved one will be warmly welcomed and supported as you settle into your new home.
The room will have all the essentials, including a comfortable bed and storage for clothes.
There’s room for a favourite chair or bookshelf to display photos and other keepsakes. We want you to be comfortable and happy in your new home.
Talking aged care isn’t easy. Knowing where to start is.
There’s a lot to take in when it comes to residential care. A little help, however, can go a long way, as we break down the residential care process.
That’s why we’ve developed our FREE Demystifying Residential Care Guide. With all the latest information in the one guide, we cover everything from eligibility criteria to tips on how to apply.

Since 1944, BaptistCare has been caring for people.
We are proud of our centres, our grounds and our activities - but most of all, we are proud of our community. This is what makes BaptistCare truly special. We are a community of people who respect one another’s independence and individuality, while understanding the importance of support and friendship.
As a Christian not-for-profit organisation, our focus is outstanding care and a quest to truly make a difference.

This extends to our work in community housing, support for women and children escaping domestic violence, and commitment to assisting people in need throughout the community.
You can be sure we are passionate about life-transforming care because we practise it every day, in countless ways.
This is the BaptistCare difference. We’re here, Because we care.
