MS Society PGA TOUR Cycle to the Shore Event

Baptist Health has a team participating in the North

Florida Chapter National MS Society PGA TOUR Cycle to the Shore event, scheduled for September 28 – 29. The first 10 people to sign up for the Baptist Health Cycling Team will receive a free cycling jersey. This is a fully supported ride with SAG vehicles, motorcycle patrols, rest stops, medical volunteers, and bike shops along the route. There are four route options, including one-day and two-day routes. For more information or to register as part of the Baptist Health team, visit the Employee Intranet for a link to the MS cycling site. Then, click on “Baptist Health – Join Team” and type in “quality” for the password. If you are one of the first 10 cyclists to register on the Baptist Health team, you will be contacted with information about how to obtain your free jersey.

Preschool Scholarships Available

United Way of Northeast Florida is partnering with the Early Learning Coalition of Duval, the Early Learning Coalition of Clay, Nassau, Baker and Bradford and Episcopal Children’s Services to provide 2-year early learning grants for 3-year-olds to high-quality, accredited childcare centers. The grants provide free, day-long care for 3-year-olds from August 2013 through July 2015 at a high-quality early learning center. To be eligible, the child must be 3 years old on or before September 1, 2013, and the family must meet certain income limits. To learn more, call the number provided below. Baptist Nassau Kudos to Connie Barniak Congratulations to Connie Barniak for becoming a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS). Connie is a pioneer in echocardiography imaging and has exhibited great skill in that modality for many years. She is a valued member of the Baptist

Wolfson Children’s Specialty Center in Daytona Now Open On July 23, Wolfson Children’s Hospital conducted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially open the Wolfson Children’s Specialty Center in Daytona Beach, located within the Easter Seals Volusia/Flagler Counties building. The center now offers pediatric cardiology and pediatric infectious disease services, with plans to add other outpatient specialty services in the future. Easter Seals will continue to offer pediatric rehabilitation services. Taking part in the ribbon cutting were Hospital President Michael Aubin, Wolfson Children’s Outreach Medical Director Michael Gayle, MD, Chief Medical Officer Jerry A. Brigham, MD, Vice President of Operations Veronica Scott-Fulton, DNP, Outreach Manager Thabata Batchelor, MPH, and representatives from Easter Seals.

Physician Integration Walk With a Doc on August 17 Kiersten Prince, DO, of Baptist Primary Care Callahan invites patients, families and friends to join her at “Walk With a Doc” on August 17 at Ewing Park in Callahan.
