the third annual

Telluride Festival of Cars and Colors Welcome to the 3rd annual Telluride Festival of Cars and Colors. On behalf of our communities, we hope you enjoy all that Telluride has to offer, from our restaurants and hotels to our world class panoramic views. Telluride is unlike any place on earth, boasting the highest concentration of 14,000 ft peaks in North America. It is also the reason that USA TODAY has ranked us a People’s Choice Top 10 Automotive event in America; NAPA even ranking our community event as 8th. Telluride is rich in History and charm, its lore is as legendary as the characters that forged the mountain town known as To Hell U Ride. Today Telluride and Mountain Village combine to make a memorable experience for families year round with festivals ranging from music to hot air balloons. Cars and Colors is Telluride’s newest Festival, it’s unique in so many ways offering a medallion hunt, photo contest, music, road rally, great food tastings, entertainment and more. We offer golfing; fly fishing, rafting, mt biking, hiking, our Historical Museum and so much more!

This year we welcome Dennis Gage of “My Classic Car” to Telluride. In his 21st Season, Dennis has done over 450 episodes which are currently airing on Discovery’s Velocity Channel. Fans know Dennis by his handlebar mustache as well as his closing statement to each episode, 4

“Honor the Timeless Classics”. Thank you to Bill Jensen and Chuck Horning for making this happen, we could not ask for more generous partners who share in our vision of creating one of the most spectacular Automotive, Aviation, and Motorcycle Events on Earth. Our restaurant community will graciously provide Dennis and his crew their meals, Thank You to all owners; I believe 100% of you contributed to making his trip memorable. Our Mt Village Owners Association has been a financial Angel in the 3 years that we have grown this event.Your support is a huge reason for the recognition given to our fledgling Festival. Thank you for your continued support in fulfilling our vision. Thank you to the Telluride Regional Airport, the Town of Mountain Village, The Town of Telluride and the Telluride Tourism Board. All have put forth great time and expense to make your experience all it can be while visiting our communities. This year we would like to welcome NETJET to our Team. We look forward to a long relationship as we grow our event. We encourage attendees to take the opportunity to tour one of these great aircraft and talk to the NETJET crew about your family’s travel needs. One thing Anita and I have learned about Telluride is that its merchants provide synergy to the many great festivals that have become part of the fabric of Telluride. In our case we attracted the attention of DOLCE and OMI PRIVE. When you think of fine Jewelry, LA or NYC may come to mind. You need not look any further than DOLCE in Telluride and Denver. Beau and Manos are back this year, this time its 5 custom designed pieces, valued at $10,000 each. The design team will create these with the winners in each of the 5 categories, including the Road Rally. Thank you Gentlemen your contribution is truly world class at any event. In closing, Thanks to all of our volunteers and my core of friends who know who you are. Thanks to our partners Rob and Sindy, Happy Birthday to you both. Lastly, Thanks to Christine Gamage who makes our event what it is.You are a loyal partner, friend and champion of the cause we call ‘CARS & COLORS’ Enjoy our community, sincerely, Ray and Anita Cody Festival Founders 5

Telluride Smooth Jazz THU 7:30pm – 9pm

Welcome Reception in Heritage Plaza FRI: 5pm – 7pm

Cool Cars on Colorado in Telluride SAT: 12pm – 3pm

Heritage Plaza in Mountain Village SUN: 1pm – 3pm

Heritage Plaza in Mountain Village Telluride Smooth Jazz, out of the Denver area, provides a unique trademark blend of smooth jazz covers, jazz standards, and fusion jams. Live performances by Telluride Smooth Jazz include a powerful array of songs by artists such as Spyro Gyra, Richard Elliot, John Klemmer, Boney James, David Sanborn, Lee Ritenour, Eric Johnson, etc. Telluride Smooth Jazz has a way of re-arranging a song into a very loose format so as not to be limited by the song itself – but to give ample space for improvisation and fusion jams. The freedom to take musical detours into uncharted territory can make the music surprisingly unpredictable and extremely interesting as listeners try to anticipate what will happen next. Telluride Smooth Jazz lays down the funky smooth grooves that give people an irresistible urge to dance, while mixing in a touch of jazz/improv to keep it fresh.

Spinphony at the Hangar 29 Evening Event SAT 6pm – 9pm

The Telluride Airport

Spinphony is a cutting edge classical pop fusion group consisting of four virtuosic string players and a DJ. Spinphony writes their own arrangements and originals in a style they call ‘Pop Baroque’. While sticking to their classical roots by performing virtuosic classics like Vivaldi summer and Beethoven string quartets, Spinphony creates a fresh new take on the classics by mashing them up with rock and pop favorites such as Kashmir and Smooth Criminal and adding high energy orchestrated backing tracks from the DJ. They perform more in the style of a rock band than a traditional string quartet with choreographed dance moves and interaction with the audience. Spinphony’s unique style and high energy performances have taken them across the US and Mexico performing for both public and private events.

Cars & Colors Hostess Has Been A Busy Lady BY TEAGAN LONGTINE

Sierra Scott has always been known for trying new things like skydiving, driving exotic automobiles and even having a TV show called “It’s All Good” but only hard work and dedication could prepare her for what was about to come. Sierra decided on the “Miss Woman United States” competition. She chose this competition in specific because it was focused on giving back to the community and within the blink of an eye, she found herself standing on the stage of the Miss Woman United States competition. Sierra was thrilled to have made her dream come true as she moved on to the next competition. She never expected to make to the top 5, they named the fourth, third and second runner ups and she never heard her name called and thought “Did they forget I was here?” Next, they announced the 1st runner up, Miss Nevada and Sierra thought Miss Nevada was the winner! As she was hugging and congratulating Miss Nevada, Miss Nevada said, “No YOU’RE the winner!” Sierra walked over and accepted the crown. Always wanting to help in the best way, Sierra is focused on preventing bullying in our communities. Sierra will continue to be a role model for many people throughout the United States and all over the world as she travels.

in memoriam

Howard DeLozier On April 21, 2017 the DeLozier family lost a devoted father and husband and the automotive family lost an avid automotive enthusiast. Howard Delozier’s life graced all those who were lucky enough to know him and his vintage Auburn collection impressed all those who knew the value and history of his great vehicles. Howard was married to his lovely wife, Luanne, for 68 years and was the father to Festival friend and Telluride local, Jerry DeLozier. At 90 years old, Howard was heading out to go fishing the day he left us. He will be missed by the many lives he touched.

“What we have once loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes a part of us.” – Helen Keller 57
