Dedicated in Loving Memory of

Saul E. Ashkenazi AH

Throughout his life, our Grandfather, Mr. Saul E. Ashkenazi AH, truly dedicated himself to his family, business, and community organizations.

Our Grandfather was involved in numerous charities and Jewish institutions, including the donation of the land where Hillel Yeshiva stands and flourishes, being a key donor to launch Yeshiva University’s scholarship fund, a coFounder of the Jewish Communal Fund, a true supporter and advocate of the UJA and Israeli Bonds, and the architect of the Ohel Yaakov Synagogue and Shaare Zion building expansion. We will always remember our Grandfather in our hearts and minds and will never forget the many life-lessons we’ve learned from him such as honesty, integrity, hard work, community service, and family values. - Saul E. & Joyce Ashkenazi Albert, Isaac and Jack Ashkenazi My grandfather taught me to always be positive and to see the glass half full. He taught me the power of my mind and how positivity can change my life. Every single day I think about that and try to live like that. I’ll never forget the day I wasn’t feeling myself and I was complaining and my grandfather looked me in the eyes and told me “Sally, you must be positive, do you know how powerful your mind is! You can accomplish anything and overcome challenges if you stay strong and always see the glass as half full!” I really try to be like he was and sometimes I feel my grandfather’s energy inside of me reminding me to be thankful and appreciative and strong and that makes me feel so grateful. - Sally & Joey Betesh

Grandpa Saul was a great source of strength and inspiration to me and my family. With his life long lessons he has taught us to be generous and love your fellow man. He will always be in our hearts forever. - Sally & Allen Smouha My Grandfather was always my hero and my role model. I learned so much about life, love, education, and religion from him. I am truly blessed to have had such a special person in my life. - Sally & Michael Franco My Grandfather was my superhero, my protector, and my teacher. As my role model, my Grandpa Saul inspired my business work ethic and philanthropic character. For as long as I can remember, Saul E. Ashkenazi A’’H emphasized the importance of honesty, passion, commitment, diligence, and charity work to my siblings and me. I consider the example set by his actions, and not simply his instructions, the prime inspiration for my developing perspective, character, and work ethic towards both business and philanthropy. - Isaac J. Kassin
