On behalf of the North Carolina Simmental Association and DP Sales Management, I would like to take this opportunity to invite each of you to the North Carolina “Fall Harvest” sale on Saturday, September 5th at 12:00 in Union Grove, North Carolina. The Fall Harvest will be a the Shuffler sale facility in Union Grove. Dr Shuffler has a excellent sale facility with a nice auction arena, grass lots, inside pens, and a great place for the other sale related events. The North Carolina Simmental Association sales have long time running with sales since 1974. The Association was formed in 1973 and the first sale in 1974, wow 41 years of sales. Come and visit about the past and help make plans for the future. Lets all show support of the state association and make Simmental one of the strongest breeds in North Carolina. This is the memberships sale so I encourage everyone to pull together to make this the best ever. Anyone will be impressed with the available genetics in this years sale. This year we have several new consignors and many which have been involved for several years. This year we have consignments from North Carolina and 5 other states. Each year we have a lot of new faces to the sale and this year we have had several new breeders inquire about the sale offering. I challenge each member to invite old members and new potential breeders to this enjoyable sale event. Anyone that has attended in the past remembers the great sale atmosphere and the solid group of sale cattle. If you have not attended in the past years, the dinner, annual meeting, and the fun auction please add it to your plans. Again, a special “Thank You” to Jennie Rucker, the executive secretary of North Carolina Simmental. This past January she received one of ASA highest honors the Golden Book award. We are proud of her and I know the North Carolina Association is as well. Call her for any details. Everyone is welcome, come you won’t be disappointed. This years sale offering probably is the best set ever. Just study the bred heifers in this catalog. The consignors are definitely offering their best. The offering includes a solid set of bred heifers, several top notch open purebreds and a great set of SimAngus. This year the offering includes a strong set of productive cows. The pairs and bred cows offered will put your program in the profit picture. The embryos offered in this years sale are some of the breeds best from some of the top programs in the country. The herd bulls are ready to go and are of top quality. The Simmental business is good with a strong demand for Simmental bulls and Simmental influenced feeder cattle. Come and view the offering and be a part of the North Carolina sale weekend. Please don’t hesitate to call any of the consignors involved in this sale. Also, if Drew Hatmaker, or myself can be of any assistance please feel free to call anytime. We encourage you to attend and be a part of this positive Simmental event. Remember to come the night before the sale for the activities and stay for the sale on Saturday. See you in the Hamptonville area and at the sale site in Union Grove. Last years sale cattle sold to North Carolina and eleven other states so if anyone needs trucking to any location it will be available. Also. if you cannot attend please utilize DV Auction on sale.

• BW: 73 • This direct daughter of Meyer 734 has been a outstanding foundation donor. She is big footed, massive through her center body, extremely sleek in her neck and shoulder design. We flushed her 2 times and averaged 18 embryos per flush. Since we have had this success we have decided to let her go in the prime of her life so someone else can reap the rewards of what she has to offer. Take a look at 2 of her daughters, Lots 1A and 1B in this sale to see what she can do. You don’t have to wait long to start making a profit off of her, she is due 9-30-2015 to SS Grandmaster. • Bred AI to SS Grandmaster, ASA#2281133 due 9/30/15

• Selling 3 embryos guaranteeing 1 pregnancy if work is performed by a certified embryologist. • We purchased STF Adamant “Addie” from the 2013 Silvertowne sale with the hopes of her making a donor cow. She has not disappointed us. Addie was crowned Grand Champion Female at the 2013 NC State Fair. As a wet 2 yr old she has exceeded our expectations raising a stout balanced heifer with a near perfect udder. She is sired by the EPD breed leading sire, WS Beef King and her dam STF Onyx. A cow that some have said to be one of the greatest cows in the breed. STF Onyx is the only NAILE two-time Grand Champion Female ever of any breed. Her mating to One Eyed Jack we feel is a slam dunk. Genetics like these are hard to come by so don’t get left behind on this one.

Sired by One Eyed Jack who is taking the breed by storm and out of Shesa Andrias, this mating could put you in the winner’s circle. 037R’s offspring has positively impacted many herds across the country with their marketable genetics, fleshing ability, fertility, and proven production. Projected EPDs put this mating in the upper 10% for API, TI, and Marb.

Owning a donor of this caliber has been fun. R801 has been a great producer and has had many progeny that have done well in the sale and show ring. At the 2102 North American a daughter sold for $15,200 going to Hudson Pines. At the 2013 National Western that same bred heifer was crowned champion female in the junior show. The embryos are sired by one of the long time calving ease leaders, SS Goldmine. Goldmine has some of the best uddered females ever and his daughters never go out of style. TNT Dual Focus T249 - reference sire

• B7, B15 & B16 – This year at the Fall Harvest sale we wanted to consign three top notch open fall heifers ready to fit anyone program. All these opens are sired by TNT Dual Focus and will be ready to breed in November. We should be retaining these females because we know they will be exceptional future cows. Of course, all carry breed leading EPDs. B7 is in the top 1% for API at 160. B15 is out of the Nichols Onyx cow family with an API of 135. B16 is in the top 25% for MCE and API. I feel these heifers will be well received however it would be great to keep all these Dual Focus heifers all together and watch them develop into future breeding pieces.

• BW: 75 • BCIV Miss Ultra Steel is definitely an eye catcher, possibly a trait coming from her granddam KenCo Miley Cottontail. This massive made very docile girl is one that we kept for our replacement females but with the tight fall calving window we are trying to keep, we are forced to make very tough decisions. (The dam of this heifer was in our herd for several years and was sold last year because of her age. This being her last calf on our farm makes it even harder to make this decision.) She is bred to Connealy In Focus we purchased direct from the Connealy Ranch in NE. We had our 1st crop of calves from him last Fall and are very well pleased. They came small and grew fast. Some of our heaviest feeder calves were out of him even with our AI program. She was exposed between May 15 and July 15. More information on sale day!

• BW: 73 • BCIV Midas of Cottontail well represents her pedigree and should be a great mom as was her dam who never missed a beat (we sold last year due to age). We kept every female she had and they are all great performers. We chose for our replacement but with the tight fall calving window we are trying to keep, we must let her go. Her sire CAIS Hulk Hogan shows in her very docile personality. Many head turning females have come from this Cottontail son now bred to Connealy In Focus we purchased direct from the Connealy Ranch in NE, this calf should be quite a performer, from replacement to feedlot. She was exposed between May 15 and July 15. More information on sale day!

A8

• BW: 82 WW: 471 • A8 is a homozygous black, homozygous polled double half-blood female that is sure to catch the eye of the most astute cattlemen and women. She is a smooth made female that has all the internal dimension and ruggedness of bone need to excel either in producing powerful, performance bulls for commercial producers or flashy females that a herd could be built around. Her sire, TNT Tuition U238, is known for his high growth progeny and hard working daughters. The female side of her pedigree is as proven as any in my herd. The Dr. J Analyst and SS Joker’s Lady L6L progeny just plain get the job done. Her dam is a full sister to high selling females that have sold through past Fall Harvest Sales to Allen Heishman of VA and Greg Wyant of NC. To top it off A8’s maternal sister was a high selling bred in last year’s sale to the Hoffman’s of Kentucky. These Lady’s get it done! A8 will have a fall calf by the Accelerated Genetics standout sire IR Range Boss Y623. • Bred AI to IR Range Boss, ASA# 2648991 on 12/20/14

For starters, where else can you find a MATERNAL sister to Remington Lock-N-Load 53U sired by the proven JF Milestone 999W. The answer is easy, no where. Not only does A15 have a royal pedigree, she has the individual performance and EPDs that are second to none. Z2 is a high growth, powerhouse half blood son of the great Angus sire SAV Final Answer 0035 that is known throughout the beef industry for his outstanding progeny whether male or female. Z2 is also a natural son of my foundation donor, SS Joker’s Lady L6L. I’ve said it multiple times and I’ll say it again, this cow just does not miss and at 14 years of age is still a productive member of the herd. Talk about longevity and predictability! If you need a performance oriented older bull that can cover more cows and sire those in demand bulls or females that have made the SImAngus cross so popular then look closely here. As a final thought, he weaned off his dam at over 800 lbs without creep feed. Who couldn’t use genetics like those in their herd!

Like his sire he stands on a wide base with large feet and heavy legs. The added bonus to this bull is his disposition. He is very gentle and easy to work. Make some time to look at him on sale day. Like his sire, he has always been well behaved in and out of the shoot. His dam continues to be one of the most feminine cows in our herd. This being her 2nd off spring she has proven to be very easy kept. His sire CAJS Hulk Hogan is the most massive made and docile bull we have ever owned. One of our grandchildren’s favorite animals on the farm weighing in at 2450 pounds! The only problem we have with him is he is so long he needs hinges in the middle of him to turn around.
