Instinct is the highest performing Kelton son we have raised thus far. Simply put, he’s explosive. Graphite has been an eye-appealing bull since birth, providing ample performance in a moderately framed package (WW – 822; YW – 1238). He provides a very desirable phenotype without any holes in either his pedigree or his numbers. Graphite has an interesting spread between his mature weight and his carcass weight, with a high $W. The Granite / Kelton progeny are early maturing and have an undeniable maternal look. Graphite is a bull that projects strong weaning weights and good carcass weights while keeping mature weight in check, which should result in economical females that produce calves with heavy weaning weights and profitable carcass results. Magellan is reverse-line bred to Lady Kelton with the goal being to lock in her positive character traits. A full brother to Conquest (co-owned with Horsley Brothers from Illinois), Magellan is a long-spined bull who’s very attractive to look at. His rear feet land precisely in the footprints left by his front feet and he just has an athletic look to him, particularly when he moves. He’s our choice to breed back to our Waylon daughters. We’ve heard it over and over: “Bruce, I wish you could make a 386 bred bull with modern day numbers.” This Rampage/10X/386 package is just that: He’s in the top 1% of the breed in WW, YW, RADG, REA, Fat, $W, $F, $YG, and $B.
