... We look forward in welcoming each and everyone to the 18th annual sale at the Head of Class sale. This year still continues to be challenging with the COVID virus and all the other struggles in agriculture however the Head of the Class still maintains their commitment and offer their best genetics. The sale has always been a breeder’s sale, meaning that whether you are looking for an elite show prospect, bred heifer, donor cow, cow/calf pair or genetic lot it can be found at the Head of the Class. We realize some of the participants have changed over the years however the Head of the Class does what is right and provides their best from the heart of their operations. This sale from the start was built on reputation. Many of the breeders involved have been doing the same for several years breeding consistent and proven genetics. We realize in the Simmental breed you have many choices and there is range of acceptability and each operation or junior program has different needs. Whether you are new comer to the breed or like many involved have come up thru the junior program and continue to fine tune your operation, we want you to consider in studying the genetics at the Head of Class. The Head of Class has been built of some of the breeds best cow families and should be still noticeable in this year’s sale catalog. The genetics included are known for the ability to be consistent and reliable. In the past sales there have been many success stories and shows champions come out of this sale event. Please call and check in with any or all the participants in the sale. If you have not been to Louisburg in several years, I would encourage you to be in the seats on September 26th. If you have any questions on any of the sale lots or any matters pertaining to the Head of the Class please call, text or email. If you are new and want to make sure you are on the catalog mailing list let us know as well. This sale is kid friendly so the Bramlet boys and Schick Chicks invite to the sale. On behalf of DP Sales Management we always look forward to the Head of the Class sale and enjoy witnessing the genetics unfold and work for the new owners. It has been going on for 18 years here in Louisburg and future of breed looks bright. If you are a new generation breeder look up the past history of the Head of the Class sale. All the participants are great about servicing their past customers and welcoming new ones with genetics to meet their needs for their program. As always we want to assist your needs so please call, text or email Drew, Holli or I.

• Conley is not very pleased with us for letting this pair leave the farm. Her Bred & Owned show heifer from last year had a good run in the ring, but more importantly has done everything right from a production standpoint. F420 bred on her very first service, she calved unassisted, she sports a beautiful udder with plenty of milk, and she has been good mannered and motherly. Unfortunately she did not give us a heifer, but even at a young age you can tell this little guy has all the right pieces. He is big legged and square built for a baby calf and definitely has a look that gets your attention. Genetically, this one is as stacked as we can build them.... Right to Love 015U, WLTR Lydia 39U, Alley 247Y, and Sheza Bonnie! Don’t pass up a female that’s already going above and beyond in just her first year. While it is a long race to run, we are certain this one will always be leading the pack.

• Choice for the embryos, take 3, 6 or all 9. All sell with the proper guarantees by Gateway Follow Me, Clarified and Something About Mary. Here is a special embryo lot that we feel has great things to offer as future genetics. Two years ago we offered a heifer in the Head of the Class and as a crowd favorite she ended commanding $24,000 going to long time supporter White Wing Simmental. This year at the AJSA Jr Nationals Conleys Bred and Owned Bull was out of Alley C420. We sold a daughter for $5500 in our fall born online sale. Alley has done great things for many programs and we only expect more great things to continue with the leading family and all its members.

• This Alley descendant is one you’re going to like. Long necked, great neck/shoulder junction, level hipped, and correct in all her angles.... H124 is going to be a handful in the showring but just like her mother and her grandmother, will be potent in production. A balanced EPD profile will also be a great tool to use when making mating selections on this one, as she is above breed average for 10 different EPD traits. Please join us September 26th in Louisburg, KS to evaluate this female and 50 others that make up the deepest and stoutest set this group has ever assembled!

• We thought we’d offer something just a little bit different here, and one we believe you will be very impressed with. This baldie stud is a high performing, stout made, rugged powerhouse. His Brilliance x Alley dam is one of my favorites and was the favorite of many at the HPF Dispersal where she was a $35,000 valuation high selling lot. She has been a little stingy making heifers for us, but 311C is transmitting quality just like we knew she would. Along with an impressive phenotype, his disposition is second to none. Shown by Paisley (who’s 11) at several shows this summer, he is extremely well mannered. Like many of you, we were saddened by the cancellation of this years Simmental Breeders Sweepstakes for many reasons, but one of the biggest was missing out on the opportunity to display this guy on a larger level. We believe he would have been very competitive there and gained several fans. Whether showing or working, G879 will be fun to watch and there will be no doubt in his ability to produce offspring that command a premium.

• “Sissy” has been a barn favorite to everyone that has came by this summer. She is a maternal sister to Luke Gilbert’s 7th overall Bred and Owned heifer that made a lot of friends in South Dakota. She is also a maternal sister to the high selling open heifer at this sale last year to Kevin Britton that has also went on to do a lot of winning. Sissy has the show ring look to keep the family tradition of winning going. The power of the Beautiful cow family runs deep in this female. Talk about one ready for the youngest of exhibitors, just ask our 3-year old, Harper. This one has a bright, bright future.

• Miss CCF Looking Ahead was our pick out of the Hudson Pines Dispersal. She had a baldie heifer calf on her side at the time that highlighted and topped our fall born online sale that following spring going to our good buddies over at Stoutenburough Farms and after having a successful show career, has moved her way into their donor pen. Shane Ryan purchased her 2nd baldie heifer calf from us the following year, and we have retained her red baldie heifer from last year to replace her in our herd. B42 averaged 15 embryos on 2 flushes for us, and with those embryos hitting the ground now and a few more in the tank, we have made the tough decision to let her roll. Typical of the C&C cattle, and the Bonnie family specifically, B42 transmits style, neck extension, eye appeal, and balance like it’s her job! B42 will calve before sale day to Mr CCF Clarified E3 (3275273).

• Selling 3 embryos guaranteeing 1 pregnancy if work is performed by a certified embryologist. It would be understatement about the impact of Right to Love 015U in our program. The purchase of 015U out of the North American was more than a good decision. The next step was winning the American Royal, after working very well in embryo transplant a couple years later she went back to the North American sale and sold to Hudson Pines. In our herd we have 7 or 8 donors out of 015U. One of the favorites is Miss Lovely B57. Lovely was 9th overall at the 2016 AJSA Jr Nationals. This red baldie exhibits power, bone, thickness and style like her dam and family members. B57 has worked to many top bulls and we offer different genetics to fit your needs and your operation.

B27 is a full sister to B57 that was 9th overall at the AJSA Jr Nationals. With all the history, predictability, high sellers and banners this family is one of the best. The next factor is the sire we select to use is Gateway Follow Me. This wow factor Angus bull was on display at Denver and caught everyone’s attention. JS has got a great one in Follow Me. This Sim Angus pregnancy is due January 2021. We believe strongly in this mating and with the Right To Love daughters in our herd, we needed to share the love.

• Selling three or five embryos with the proper guarantee. The diversity of our breed is a strong point for many breeders. As breeders we know the positive traits we offer as breed. In the state of Iowa we have a lot diversity. Whether a commercial or club calf herd the influence of Simmental genetics is strong and it improves the end point. We have done 015U to two club calf bulls Monopoly and Who Made Who. Tim Schwab purchased Monopoly embryos and has a daughter in the Knopp herd doing a good job and has one of his best heifers. The Who Made Who is not for everyone however the Simmental influence is a huge benefit across our industry.

• Selling three embryos guarantee one pregnancy. Choice of the embryos sell on the baldie donor Charm. Select from Lover Boy the son of Right to Love 015U that was Denver champion and now the calving herd sire for Gib Yardley. High Road which is posting some great EPD and progeny that is very marketable. Innovator has already proven himself in his first calf crop. Select three, six or nine.
23A THSF Lover Boy B33 Proj. EPDs
• The baldie donor Schutte Charm A33 is a donor that is quite impressive. At the New Direction we selected this cow a couple reasons, her extreme quality, her impressive progeny and her dam being a half sister to the Wesner donor 770P. The 770P is one on the strong cows in the breed producing animals such as Uno Mas, Big Deal, Twang, Revolution , Swagger, Pay Up, Missy A407, Missy Z4293, Adele and many more. Also, in the 2018 Sloup sale I was contending bidders on her daughter which was one of the high sellers. We offer a flush to the bull of your choice. The mating opportunities are endless. An open to on this flush.

Get in on the ground floor while you still can and to top it off F816 is to calve by sale day to Relentless which makes this calf a sib to the top selling sisters in March. • Bred AI to W/C Relentless, ASA#304559, due by sale time

• Royal bred female here boys and girls. One we shouldn’t let leave, but want to bring our best. F879 has a ton of future; an own daughter of HPF Honey which has generated a tremendous amount of dollars and champions for Schaeffer. Sired by one of the best show cattle sires, Hot Rod, to boot. I could keep rattling about what this gem could do, but instead come see her and her baby in Louisburg. Proven easy decision to be made—our loss is your gain.

This Sazerac descendant has the look and pizzazz that P94 put on all her offspring, just like her dam that commanded $25,000 as an open a few years back for HPF. • I appreciate this group of breeders asking us to be involved in the Head of the Class sale. The sale always has been a top sale represented by hard working, dedicated, progressive breeders. With that being said, I wanted to put my best foot forward even on a short notice, so here is Gracie D12. This Long Haul is hard to fault being the right size and the right type and kind. D12 has a great overall design and the look for sure. Wait and see after she calves what an excellent udder. On the bottom side the genetics are superb and always seem to work big time, Sadie which is a Duff New Edition and NJC Lexus. Lexus sold in the Sunset View sale to the astute cattleman Don Boysel. Lexus herself has almost 100 progeny on her cow card. Several breeders have done with Lexus females over the years. Remember Rubys Wicked Woman, Miss Lexus T23 and Amazon. Family members have well for Chris Sweat, Rolling Hills, Griswold, Duello Cattle, Cow Camp, Kennedy Core, Ruby Cattle, Gabe Chase, ABC Simmental and many more. Donor material. Seller reserves the right to one future flush. • Pasture Exposed to Volk Direct Order, ASA#3282484 from 11/20/19 to 1/1/20. Safe in calf.

• Here’s another one that the girls are unanimous about me being wrong for taking to Kansas. This Pays to Dream daughter is as correct as you can make one... excellent on her feet and legs, monster ribbed, good spined, and long necked. Just several of the reasons Mabrey captured Reserve Grand Female banners with C72 at the Illinois State Fair, not once... BUT TWICE! That’s right, being successful as a calf and as a senior yearling is no easy task but when they’re built like C72 is it’s hard to go unnoticed. We have not flushed this one yet, but that is our mistake and your benefit. A future donor for sure, C72 has big time untapped potential. We had no intention to let this one leave so early in life, but the pressure to bring our very best to the Head of the Class on September 26th offers you enormous opportunity here. Due to calve 9/1/20 to Mr CCF Clarified E3 (3275273). • Bred AI to Mr. CCF Clarified E3, ASA#3275273 on 11/23/19, due 9/1/20
