March 5, 2022 l 11:00 AM Kentucky Fair & Expo Center
New Market Hall, Louisville, Kentucky
We invite to the Kentucky Beef Expo which has been a long standing tradition of a well respected outlet for beef cattle producers through the east and southeast to market their animals. 2022 is the 36th year of the Kentucky Beef Expo. We are proud that the Simmental breed has continued to be one of the most successful events at the expo in respects to both the participation by breeders and the attendance and overall success. All of this is only capable because of the dedicated group of breeders who come back year after year or the first time breeders to showcase their operation’s genetics at the Kentucky Beef Expo. Most people involved in the expo are involved in the seed stock business however we know the end product is producing a nutritious product which provides a good eating experience. That product is Beef. I probably can speak for the expo and even all breeds offer a big thanks to KY Farm Bureau. We invite you to join us on Friday afternoon for the show where you will be able to visually appraise the animals as they walk through the show ring. This is a great opportunity to put your own eyes on the lots that have caught your attention as you were flipping through the catalog. The opens will show as purebreds and percentage followed by the breds and bulls. In appraising the cattle, decide what will fit your individual needs Then on Saturday morning, we will have opens, breds, bulls, and genetic lots for sale in New Market Hall. The offering is backed by some of the top cow families in the state and other states as well. Of course as you are looking through the catalog, we invite you to visit with any of the consignors of lots you might be interested in. Study the consignors page as well great breeders represented at this years event like always. As always we want to thank the Kentucky Department of Agriculture and the Kentucky Farm Bureau plus the Ky Beef Expo committee for their continued support of the expo. If you can’t be with us, join us online at DVAuction, or contact any of the sale staff. It’s always a great event in Kentucky and we hope to see you there. If you never have been to the expo I encourage you to attend and see what the Simmental breed has to offer. Call for a catalog or any other details. If Drew, Holli or I can assist please call or text. Join us live on Facebook on the DP Sales Management page for a live stream of the sale cattle show on Friday, March 5th.

Ebony Rose J110 is a flashy black baldy show heifer prospect backed by a tremendous amount of cow power that astute Simmental breeders will appreciate. Her dam is the result of an embryo purchase from Sloup Simmentals in Nebraska, being a Power Drive out of the Ebony Black Rose donor. The dam of J110 has been one of our most consistent producers and clicked with a variety of AI sires. All four of her previous calves were sold privately off the farm, or sale toppers, regardless of being a bull or heifer. J110 is sure to develop into a top-notch cow prospect that will be a wise investment for the new owner and make money for years to come.

Balance is a word that comes to mind when describing Addie. This solid black Steel My Heart daughter is feminine and complete. She has a quiet disposition and down the road will be a beautiful bred. I’ve noticed several Vantage Point cows do well in recent sales and I think Addie can hang with the best of them. Ready to breed to the bull of your choice!

We have high expectations out this Broker daughter, Macy. Macy is in the top of all the ones that carried the SBS prefix. We are in the seedstock business to produce this type and kind for our customers and our program. We don’t find much we would like to change in stout and complete female. We have always been pleased with the results on her Angus cows. Do you remember her maternal sister and her dam, Champion Hill Georgina. The best is yet to come on S B C Macy. Everyone has a favorite and this February born heifer seems to make the list. Joy ranks high in all the females that we have produced over the years. Take a look at all the good cows in her pedigree. 329J’s dam we purchased out of the New Direction from Brandon Luebbe. Her dam, a 20 20 x Red Jewel daughter is doing a great job and we even expect more good things. Joy is wide based, stout with a good hip, top and rear. Ft Knox worked here and we are anxious to bring her to the expo. 319J is homozygous polled. Take her home and take her to any show, she will get noticed.

Sassy is a full sister to the high seller about three years ago. The dam, Sazerac Z94D has done nothing but good for our program. 321J grand dam, Sazerac was North America champion for Holli Parke. The Sazerac family still flourishes across the breed for many operations. 321J is flashy, exhibiting style and balance with a great profile. Sassy sire Nashville has been overlooked in the breed however for our program all have been at the top.

Bank On Beauty is a female to look at on sale day. The pedigree and family history with all the predictability and consistency adds only good things such as genetic merit and revenue. Beauty’s dam, Image/Bramlet Royal B is a full sister to Bramlet’s Image D622.Also, A sib to Ryoal B was champion at the Ky Stste Fair. D622 produced the many time champion, Bramlet’s/DBGL Emmy G932. Emmy was the high seller at the Ground Up sale for $45,000 selling to Canadian Donors. According to many, Emmy is one of the top females to sell in several years according to several astute breeders. In the pedigree each generation has excelled big time especially Y100 ans S064.. Matter of fact several family members have been sold in past expo sales and that is where we purchased Beauty”s dam in the 2018 sale.

A young fall born by the champion, CCF The Duke. He was a champion however now he is a proven bull and that is the most important part. A broad range of breeders have been pleased with the outcome. The Duchess packs loads of femininity and looks plus smooth in her overall makeup. Duchess is out of Autumn Mist, a past Kentucky State Fair champion.

If you are looking for a female that will add a lot of performance, growth, and genetic merit to your program then this is the female to do it. Her EPD’s alone make her a great addition to any program looking to sell bulls or excellent replacement females. Out of Dividend, this female definitely brings something different to the party.

We love the skeletal design of this senior yearling. She’s long and flexible in her spine with a beautiful hip. She’s sleek shouldered and extended through the neck. Ally Jo gladly brought some Miley Cottontail genetics back to Happy 6 Simmentals when she purchased Dory’s dam from Bill Sloup as a bred. Shortly after we got her home, she had this beautiful blaze faced heifer. This Miley granddaughter is eye catching and has been a favorite of visitors. She is bold sprung, good footed, and has that sharp Miley front end. Dory has been shown and is easy to work with.

There is so much about this girl that I like. You can see how nice she profiles for starters. She’s just pretty. I love her depth that she carries from front to back. Here is a bull that Riley has been showing at many different places. Jokers Knight has been champion bull at the KCA Fall Classic and the Ky State Fair and others. First off, you’re going to love his disposition and laid back attitude. This fall will ready to start his work as a breeding bull. He will add pounds and produce desirable calves each calf crop. I would encourage to retain all his heifers. H16 goes back to Oliva, Lucky Dice, and H25. The same that produced Broker.

Here is a bull that will do several things for a serious producer whether you have a commercial or purebred herd. High Stepper should produce many baldy calves, increase your pounds at weaning, increase hybrid vigor and add to your bottom line. If you retain your heifers, your cow herd well only benefit. J23 is smooth made and has that extra length of body. Quantum Leap’s are always good property. If you market your steers any market will love those coming off the trailer.

Z21 produces the largest calves in our herd every year. She continues to breed in the first part of the season while maintaining a perfect udder at ten years of age. CJAM Red Mark J01 will produce excellent heifer calves given his mother’s genetics while adding pounds and phenotype in all his calves. We never offered a potential herd sire at the Ky Beef Expo. Sorry wrong, he is going to be a herd sire with loads of potential. We are ever confident in Sudden Impact. Sudden Impact will impress with his overall design in his overall package. We like his feet, bone, rear legs, hip and overall completeness. Sudden Impact is smaller framed and offers many positives to any breeding scenarios. Backed by the long time production cow, Ebony’ Charm.

Lotsa Love B422 was a high seller at 25,000 at the 2019 Clearwater Clear Choice. In the 2020 we selected the bred heifer out of Lotsa Love sired by KBHR Sniper. She is the best ever to walk the pasture of Misty Meadows. After calving, she even looked more impressive still with her complete design and now add that perfect udder. When the decision for flushing was made, it was an easy choice to utilize Proclamation. I know it will click and feel good about the females and bulls. I always want to be involved in the Kentucky Beef Expo and this was the best offering of my top embryos. Selling three conventional embryos guaranteeing one pregnancy. Judy said this was my most exciting day in the cattle business when arriving back home with the best Sniper daughter in the country.

Selling 3 embryos guaranteeing one pregnancy if work is performed by a certified embryologist. We have sold many daughters and grand daughters out of the Roxie donor at the Ky Beef Expo and other sales. This Amazon x Crown Jewel x Black Jewel cow has been a great producer and seems to work on each bull. This time we got lucky and purchased some ES Right Time semen out of the South Dakota Source sale. Right Time semen was popular and pricey and now off the market. I am glad Roxie as usual works in fine fashion or the mating would not be available. This the only time we will ever offer any embryos by Right Time. A Kentucky thank you to Chris Effling for offering the limited semen and to Steve Eichacker for producing an outstanding son of Welsh Dew It Right.

Red Empire was the high selling bull at the Bar CK Ranch bull sale and was purchased by the Red Empire group. Red Empire is in the top 1% in the breed for CE, BW, MCE, Stay and API. In the top 3% for MB, top 10% for MM and TI. What a strong mating from a donor and family that does it time again.

Maybe one of the most consistent donors is Steel My Heart. She always matches up with whatever sire we mate her to. Her progeny always rise to the top at weaning time and just flat get it done in production. The mating to County O should produce an exciting show heifer or herd sire prospect.

Offering 3 conventional embryos guaranteeing one pregnancy by the bull many refer to as Saban. This is a young and upcoming donor so we advise to get involved on the front end. The Cheyenne donor has produced many top sellers for our program whether in Denver our online sale. I feel this is her best daughter and now a donor. It is hard to produce females this elegant with power, rib shape muscle and internal dimension. Two Step is semen is limited and the future embryos maybe as well.

Ellingson Fancy F805 - reference dam
We always have been impressed with the Red Jewel donor and the offspring. We finally purchased a daughter and we were even happier when she got unloaded here at the farm. Fancy F805 is a full sister to the high seller for $40,000 in North American sale. F805 is wide based, wide hipped with a broad square rump. She is just a good looking brood cow. This donor went to work and has been successfully flushed so offer the best of the matings, Something About Mary and the champion, Rocking P Private Stock. Selling three embryos guaranteeing one pregnancy. When you see the progeny hit the ground the word is Sweet. JSUL Something About Mary - ref. sire

Selling three IVF sexed embryos guaranteeing one pregnancy if work is performed by a certified embryologist. If you have not seen this donor in person well she does look just like her picture, picture perfect. Eye Candy is worth the investment on any of the sires. Candy is three dimensional and smooth from end to end. I don’t know how you can design any better. You can never get enough of a good thing and because of Dream On and Steel Force the consistency will always be in those genetics. I don’t have a degree in genetics, however I like good looking, sound, functional cows that have stayability. Stayability and consistency is number one. Selling choice of the sires, sexed heifer embryos. What is your favorite mating, Ft Knox, SAM or Hitman?
