Kentucky is lucky to have the support of Agriculture programs by Commissioner of Agriculture Ryan Quarles, his staff, the Kentucky Department of Agriculture, and the Kentucky Farm Bureau. As the Simmental sale manager I know the consignors are bringing their best and the sale is stacked with high quality animals. Please remember a big change that the schedule has been changed for the 2016 event to the third week of Feb to the 19th and 20th. We, along with the Kentucky Simmental Association find it very important to make sure the Simmental breed is well represented at the Beef Expo. The Simmental Show and Sale is always one of the largest and most successful at this event. With the strong purebred cattle prices and the great demand for Simmental and Sim Angus genetics this years event is loaded with high quality. One of the great things about the Beef Expo Simmental Sale is there is truly something for everyone. The offering includes opens; both purebred and percentage, breds, herd sires, and genetic lots. This is a great place to find exactly what you’ve been looking for! Take this opportunity to buy your junior heifer for the 2016 AJSA National Jr heifer show or the Eastern Regionals. Kentucky Department of Agriculture Dear friends, As your new Kentucky Commissioner of Agriculture, it’s my pleasure to welcome you to the 30th Annual Kentucky Farm Bureau Beef Expo at the Kentucky Exposition Center. The Beef Expo is recognized as one of the nation’s elite beef cattle exhibitions. Last year’s event set a record with sales of $1.39 million, marking the fourth consecutive year with sales in excess of $1 million. The 2015 show attracted 201 consignors from 18 states. Youth exhibitors can test their skills in the annual judging contest and junior show. The 2015 junior show saw 379 head pass through the show ring, including 154 Kentucky animals.

C046 is the first calf out of our up and coming donor, RP/MP Built to Love A025. Chan and Morgan could write a book on this cow family and their success both in the show ring and the pasture. A021, a flush mate shown by the Rocking P crew and Circle M, won a banner at almost every show she was exhibited at as both a heifer and as a cow/calf pair! Not to mention all the champions in the last 10 years with this cow family. With this background, we expect great things from A025 in the future. This bull calf sired by WLE Swagger is a great start for her production records. C046 is a moderate framed bull that puts a lot of good pieces together. He’s a structurally correct bull that when out on the move hits his tracks and has plenty of flex off his hocks and pasterns. We sampled Nashville on our Power Drive x Sazerac donor that we purchased out of the Family Traditions sale from Clearwater and the results are Wow. This heifer from week one has been a standout.
