The Land of Lincoln sale just keeps improving year end and year out. This year

will be the 17th sale held by the Land of Lincoln group. We want to start off by welcoming breeders from Illinois and across the country to the Diamond A sale facility. The sale group continues to offer high quality Simmental and Sim Angus genetics that work for their customers. Whether you have been many years to the sale or this could be your first trip to Altamont, please consider this weekend and visit with a great group of breeders. Each year the bar seems to be raised with the offering of quality seed stock. The proof has been the many years of success stories and satisfied customers across the country. First off, we would like to thank the sale host Diamond A Farms and their families. They open the doors to their facility and farm with their gracious hospitality. On another note we want to acknowledge plus offer a huge congratulation to all the crew at Diamond A Farm which was awarded the Illinois Seed Stock Breeders of the Year. What an honor for their Simmental operation. The whole offering is strong from all breeders involved with a great set of bred heifers coming to you bred up early to some of the leading bulls in today’s industry. In the open heifer division, the 2016 opens are solid and of high quality. No matter what state you hail from, the Land of Lincoln will be a great place to offer consideration in selecting your next show prospect. Many show heifers from last year’s sale won banners and championships and are working for their new owners. We want to offer congratulations to the Sara Sullivan and the Sullivan families for their success on the two opens they purchased out of last year’s sale. Review the back cover with their photos. We hope much of the harvest is completed by sale week however we would encourage any interested parties to call or even stop by the respective farms prior to sale week. I also invite you to thumb thru the catalog and watch any videos online and if needed contact any of the breeders if you have any questions. The office and shop will be utilized on Friday for hospitality and the pre-sale lunch on Saturday plus the office area for the sale. The Land of Lincoln sale has been one of the strong and consistent sales year after year in the state and the quality is better than ever so please come and view the offering plus take in the great hospitality offered by the Land of Lincoln group of breeders. If Drew, Holli, or I can be of any assistance with your purchases or answers any questions don’t hesitate to call at anytime. Also, make note to the new motel Cobblestone Inn and Suites at the Altamont exit. We hope you can attend however if not utilize DV Auctions. See you there.

JMCB Babys Breathe 432X - reference dam • Elegant, feminine, balanced, standout are a few word that come to mind when I think about this April purebred. This female has simply been a standout since she hit the ground! D624 is exactly what we envisioned when we purchased a set of embryos from Darrin Smith and Kerry Travis out of their good Baby Breathe donor. A full sister to this female was top selling female at the NAILE Select sale for $21,000. We think this sister may even be more refined and attractive. We always want to offer our very best at the Land of Lincoln and this one should seriously turn some heads.

• Baby’s Breath strikes again... If you are at all familiar with Simmental genetics it shouldn’t take you long to realize the potential of this royally bred female. From the profile she is striking to look at with that ultra-feminine front end, her jet-black hair and beautiful baldy face. She also possesses a lot of rib shape and you will be sure to like her soundness when set in motion. D608 will be one that will go right from the showring to the donor pen as we know the success and consistency of Baby’s Breath genetics.

If the buyer would so choose, one could make full sibs to Maverick Dwengers 9th overall female from this summers AJSA National classic, man she had a lot of fans. We have a handful of heifers coming out of 5105 this spring. 5105 is due to calve early Oct and will be ready to flush shortly after the sale. Buyer will cover all flush, semen and shipping fees. We guarantee a minimum of 6 transferable embryos with an open top. Half money down on sale day.

• D34 and D118 – Broker 1/2 bloods are good property.

Blackbird 29 continues to impress us with her added shape and power. D34 possess the credentials required to turn heads with her huge rib cage and smokin’ good neck. Her sister is one that is super stout, big topped, and big boned. She will follow her mother’s trend of passing along added pounds at weaning time. If feed efficiency is on your checklist, you should consider some Rudow genetics.

We can write a book on what her mother has done in our program from banners to high dollar show heifers, two of which have sold through this sale. • We are really pulling the stops out with this deal! We wanted to offer something that was truly unique at this year’s Land of Lincoln. D641 is a September born calf out of CCR Santa Fe and the Hudson Pines and B&K Denver Champion Alley 247Y. The Alley progeny have simply been taking the breed by storm. In last year’s Living Legacy Sale top daughters sold for $33,000, $22,000 and $13,000 going to some of the breed’s finest stockmen. Another daughter was Supreme Champion female at the TN Beef Agribition for B&K and sold for $21,000 to JS Simmentals. Several other sisters headlined the Head of the Class sale this fall as well. In addition another powerful offering with be presented by the HPF and B&K crews throughout the fall. There is no better time than now to latch onto this royal line of genetics. As if the deal wasn’t “sweet” enough; the recipient dam is a 2014 model WS Step Up X SS Empriss 302Y. The Empriss donor has been one of the standouts recently for Hudson Pines and headlines their fall sale. The earning potential in this truly special genetic opportunity is limitless. She did not take the best picture because we just haven’t had the time to work with them with harvesting, but we are confident that she will be a sweetheart and cooperate for the junior enthusiast. More importantly, though, is she is a descendant of the great CNS Perfection R521. And even more important than that is she comes from a prolific cow family that always sticks on the first breeding and has calved the first part of January since we have owned her. • The Haley X086 donor just continues to crank out the right type and kind every calving season and her Pays to Believe daughter loves to show off and be on center stage. D626 possess that look at me attitude that will set her apart from the pack. Fancy females with the structure and pizzazz never go out of style and with the predictability of this cow family the bar is set high.

• This bred comes from a cow family out of our herd that goes back to a female that we selected out of the Cow Camp Ranch program. We have built upon the solid EPD set that she boasts as well as her moderate, broody phenotype by breeding her to the Genex bull, IR Fully Loaded B16. By our sampling of calves on the ground so far, we have seen him live up to his impressive set of numbers, especially delighting us with the growth he provides.

• A one of a kind type female. You don’t often find purebreds built like this. Clean and extended in her neck and ultra sound at the ground. C10 would be a 3/4 sister to J2 Promising Purple, our 2013 NWSS Jr Champion heifer. C10 was never beat in class during her show career and was Res. Division champion at the 2015 Hoosier Beef Congress. Her mating to Bismarck should compliment C10 very well. • Bred AI to S A V Bismarck 5682, ASA#2492333 on 5/12/16
