Welcome to the Mid-America Simmental Sale!
Though we are only two months into 2019 it is beginning to be full swing on expo time across the Midwest. Expos are a great way to start the New Year because they truly showcase all of the variations between beef breeds and what each has to offer. In the end we all are the same providing nutritious meat for the consumer. The Simmental breed has loads to offer and it is evident this year at the Mid America sale. Not to mention it is a great opportunity to get new and old Simmental breeders involved in the breed and in their state associations. The Illinois Beef Expo is a special event as it truly showcases all the great aspects of the cattle industry in the state. The Simmental breeders from Illinois are very supportive of this event, and of their state association. These consignors who are involved in the Mid-America Simmental Sale have hand selected the cream of the crop genetics from their operations to be on display in Springfield. We realize as a sale management team the work that has been put into the cattle consigned and the efforts of the breeders involved. The sale offering is strong no doubt. We invite you to be a part of your state association and come and meet the long time faithful consignors and the new ones as well. We invite you to look through the catalog and visit with the consignors concerning their individual lots. These breeders know their animals, genetics, and their operations, and are proud to share them with potential buyers. As always, the selection is one of the top groups you will find all spring. If you are looking for Simmental genetics, take a hard look at the offering in the Mid-America Simmental Sale, and see how they could bring value to your program. The breeders in Illinois assemble some of the finest genetics in the Simmental breed so all of the opens, breds, bulls, and genetic lots are of the highest quality and some are past state fair champions. Don’t forget this year as Illinois breeders and Simmental supporters the AJSA Junior Nationals and Sweepstakes will be held together in Louisville, Ky. The Mid America sale is a great place to select your next show prospect. So study all the information included in the catalog, the sale lots, the upcoming events and become more involved in your association and the exciting times in the Simmental breed. We hope that you will join the Illinois Simmental Association on Friday night for their annual meeting and banquet as well as all of the festivities of the Illinois Beef Expo. Bring the whole family and take in the expanded trade show as well as the junior show on Sunday. We look forward to seeing you at the Illinois Beef Expo at the Mid-America Simmental Sale! We will see you Saturday morning while the Simmental sale cattle will be on display. Look us up or call Drew, Holli, or I if any questions.
P.S. Watch our facebook page and/or website for sale updates, videos, interviews, sale orders and such.

First genetics to sell out of one of the most dominant cows to show in the past few years. LAA Diamond Girl won numerous shows as a heifer including the IL State Fair, but she was even more dominant as a cow/calf pair being named champion at North Central Regionals, Junior Nationals, and the North American Supreme Champion at World Beef Expo. We flushed her for the first time to one of the hottest bulls of 2018 in Rubys Currency 7134E and couldn’t be more excited for these eggs to come. Here is the first chance to get in on the ground floor of our up and coming donor TBA Forever Lady Hannah. We knew this one would produce but she has proved her value in her first flush! If you traveled the show circuit this past year it would have been hard to miss her fancy daughter LPC High Class shown by Mady Frederick. This heifer made more friends over the summer than the most popular girl in school and claimed honors at the national level on multiple occasions including Champion % Female at the World Beef Expo. Offering choice of embryo packages, full sibs to High Class or sample what we think could be a home run with embryos out of GSC/GCCO Dew North102C.

Selling 3 embryos guaranteeing 1 pregnancy if work is performed by a certified embryologist. Good cow families never let you down and the “Alley” family tree has been as consistent and profitable as any. These embryos are maternal sibs to the high selling female out of the 2018 Head of the Class sale at $24,000 going to our good friends at White Wing Simmentals in AR. Prior to the HOC, that female was campaigned very successfully by Conley, claiming such honors as 4th Overall Bred and Owned Female at the Junior Nationals, Division Champion at Breeders Sweepstakes, and Reserve Grand Female at the Illinois State Fair. We now anxiously wait to see the impact she will have on the White Wing Program as she begins her donor career. These embryos offered are sired by Mr CCF Clarified, a 20-20 son with extra style, enormous rib shape, and impeccable running gear.

Offering 3 embryos by Mr HOC Broker or 3 embryos by CNS/HFS Payload, guaranteeing 1 pregnancy if work is performed by a certified embryologist. As one of the high selling “Future Donors” at $15,000, Miss Looking Ahead B42 was our selection out of the Legendary Hudson Pines Dispersal and we could not be more pleased with what she has already accomplished in just her short time here in IL. Her natural calf last year, E102, was our featured “Lot 1” female in our online sale last spring going to our good friends down the road at Stoutenborough Simmentals. Kalee and E102 had quite a run together and we look forward to watching her impact on the SF program. B42’s natural calf this year is sired by our full brother to Quantum Leap and we can not wait to get this brokle faced bombshell to the show barn and prepped for her “Lot 1” spot in our sale this spring. B42 is a full sister to the popular Hadden Champion, Sheza Bonnie C153, and is a direct daughter of the Louisville and Denver Champion, Sheza Bonnie Y61. B42 has proven she will pass on all the traits that made her mother and sister such a dominant champions; style to burn, perfect leg structure, soft and loose made, and overall balance that can not be replicated. This family produces champions and high sellers like no other and both sires offered here should compliment B42 extremely well.

How many champions have been from the family of Bramlet Beautiful Y100 and the donor S054 plus even back to the extended family. We have been watching this line of genetics for years and knew it would be a wise investment to get involved with Image D622. The answer to the question is many of this strong and predictable family has been in the winner’s circle and are working in many top programs around the country. Luke has been blessed with some good animals and when he started several years ago he wanted his show heifers to make cows in the end to assist in building his future herd. Select from the exciting Primo to produce a top Sim Angus or choose genetics from the Denver champion Hammer Time.

At the Illinois State Fair he won his division. Mady went on to show him at the 2018 World Beef Expo where he was Reserve Champion Purebred Bull. Payback finished out his first year in the ring at NAILE as Division III Champion Purebred Bull. His dam, HPF/PRS Empriss Z303 has really started to produce some top end offspring for us out of several different matings. Payback is free moving, big footed, and deep sided. Last year’s top selling heifer at this sale, offered by Vary & Adolph, is another material sib to these ladies. Both of these heifers are free moving, long sided, and deep ribbed. 20F is the thicker made, stouter boned heifer of the pair, however take nothing away from 21F. 21F is made more feminine and is longer fronted. She expresses the kind of muscle and dimension that defined the Simmental breed. As a mature cow this cow family is known for their fleshing ability, fertility, and sound foot. NXT Liberty United F804 is a big bodied, good profiling January 3/4 blood with a royal pedigree. Resulting from a flush purchase, sired by W/C United and out of the Liberty S600 donor of Foster Brothers she is a maternal sister to FBFS Exclamation (the 2011 NAILE champion, also pictured). With WW and YW EPDs in the top 5% of the breed, F804 will generate easy-doing, big topped cattle typical of United progeny that improve every day. Very few S600 daughters have left the Foster ranch, but they all generate. Tie into a predictable, powerful pedigree here!

We have always liked this heifer from birth. Here is one that is long necked with a pretty white face. She lays good in her angles and is true at the ground. Here sire adds value to this heifer right out of the gate being well respectful on EPDs side and phenotype, Executive Order had proven himself on Josie. Josie is very gentle and has been shown. Take her home and add value to your herd!

Fiona is a gorgeous black baldy sired by the immortal Uprising. Out of a hard working Built Right daughter, F271 is the complete package. She combines a killer look with a solid maternal pedigree. Many of the Uprising daughters are out producing themselves as cows. I don’t doubt that Fiona will join the list of top notch brood cows going forward.

I love F10’s look at the profile and cannot help but think about her natural brood cow appearance, long bodied, long necked, sweeping rib, and flat and flexible joints. F68 is one of the most unique percent females we have ever offered. She is stout and soft middle in her build, while maintaining her structurally correct design as she handles it with ease. My favorite part of F68 is that she is bold and yet extremely feminine in how her neck ties into her shoulder. F68 is sired by one of the most dominating sires in recent history, Mr Hoc Broker, back to our selection out of the 2014 Program Sale, Cardinal Camilla 406B. 406 is quickly making a name for herself in our program as she has raised a division winner at the 2017 Illinois Angus Futurity and a division winner at the 2018 Iowa State Fair FFA Show for the Brooks Family.

This little fall heifer is massive in her design and sound on her feet and legs. Out of the RS Whitney 34A donor, that is now deceased. F89 has a bright future. We admire this Revival daughter for her bold rib shape, ample fore rib, and smooth muscle design. Stack all of that on top of these cow families in the breed and you’ve got a recipe for success.

This October born female is sharp and fancy. She is long necked, clean made with loads of femininity. This young female is square hipped, soft, and good structured. We sold her full sitter in this sale last year and she went to some good friends of ours the Marcus Family. Who have shown her successfully quite a bit.

Here is one that will make your heard pound. This may heifer is as fancy as you can get one. She has all kinds of potential to be big time show heifer. Kisses is one of the coolest fronted PB Simmys you can find with really good feet and legs under her. She is really cool haired, made right, and as cool as they come. Kid broke ready to show.

This bull looks much like his Grand Sire WS Pilgrim gentle and easy going yet stout enough to hold his own. This bull could add to any breeding program. Be sure to study this pedigree and imagine what you could gain from this young man ready to go.

What’s not to love about a baldy bull that’s huge footed, big boned, and impeccable from the ground up? This Chopper sons eye appeal plus his strong top and depth of body is something you can’t ignore. His dam was a successful show heifer out of a Pays to Dream son that we purchased from Danner Farms. We liked this calf so much that we kept him around but because we have several Chopper daughters we can’t use him our self. He got a lot of attention at summer shows as a calf when my 6 year old nephew took him out showing. Great disposition!
