Welcome to the Midwest Sale, On behalf of the JS Simmentals crew and DP Sales Management, I would like to welcome you to the 2016 Midwest Made Sale. It is always exciting to work with the Steenhoek and Grass families, and I mean all of them! It is a true family event for JS Simmentals, and they dedicate a lot of hard work, time, and dedication in to breeding exceptional Simmental cattle and presenting them to you. JS Simmental genetics are always well received by Simmental breeders, and I think you can see that as a testament by some of their guest consignors. Several guest consignors’ consignments go back to JS genetics that have worked well for them in their operation. Of course, the recent success in the show ring of JS Black Satin continues to be received with great significance across the breed. We hope that you will join us inside the Hansen Center at Iowa State for this event. No matter the weather Claudia always has the hospitality and décor ready, and Scott, Jay, Amy, and the kids have the cattle ready for your inspection. If you can’t be with us, please contact the guest consignors, sale staff, or watch online at DVAuctions. This year might be the deepest set of cattle to sell at the Midwest Made and we don’t want you to miss it.

Outstanding Journey x Flirty 1/2 blood fall female. Here at JS we are a big fan of Journey & he continues to produce the kind of sound, easy keeping, show ring look females that we like. She is a 1/2 blood female that has the extra bone & foot size to produce those awesome percentage calves. Her future is very bright!!

OL TWANGER Coy’s 2015-16 show heifer. This heifer gave Coy a tremendous opportunity to learn, grow, and excel with. I can’t begin to guess how many times Chesney, Coy & Grady went out to the pasture, haltered her, and brought her up to the show barn just to have a heifer to practice clipping & fitting on. To say YES she has a great disposition is an understatement- as Coy says “She is BEAST!!!” She is the full sister to our 2016 high selling bull JS Revolver 20C that was purchased by Clearwater Simmental & Accelerated Genetics. A direct daughter of 14P. This baldy has made quite a few friends this fall. She is hard to fault from the ground up. Sound, stout, easy fleshing and good looking. Guess that describes this outcross beauty. Whether you’re in the hunt for some purple, or need one for the donor pen, this female will take you in the right direction. Retaining a flush.

These two heifers are full sisters to the popular Uprising heifer shown by Chesney Steenhoek this year. These heifers were purposely lelf over to calve next winter as we don’t have a lot of room for fall calvers. These heifers are each different in their type and kind. 107 is more moderate and softer middles while 104 is a little bigger and stouter, cleaner in her lines with a long front end in her. Both heifers were called safe to their AI dates.

We combined a Genetic package full of Southern style with a touch of Northern delicacy. With genetics going back to Randy Daniels, Partisover Ranch, GA with the great Partisover Burgess 786 cow family on the maternal side, adding in a strong flare on the paternal family going back to history maker Dream On. It’s obvious this heifer brings a strong genetics package chocked full of legends with her. She is a balanced attractive individual with tons of rib and capacity. With unsurpassed style and exciting feminine design, you’ll appreciate the extra body, and smooth curves. She has the high efficiency look of her dam and grand dam.

We just had to put a Revival daughter in the Made Midwest sale. This star head female is super long neck and has great convection to her rib cage. If you look at 11D pedigree you will find the old cornerstone donor Maid to Order, as many people know this cow family has brought us much success time and time again throughout Lone Tree Simmental history. It is because of a successful flush that we are able to share these genetics. This little lady has so much future and outcome that we fell she will make a killer breed next year.

If you are looking for a heifer backed by a proven donor dam, here she is. We could write a book on Champion Hill Lady 2652. 2652 raised SCC Echo Dell Nellie 6005, who won the National Jr Angus owned show and also Won supreme champion female at the 2008 National Western. She is also the mother to, Younge Grieman Hotz Lady 322, who was the Supreme Champion Female at the 2014 Iowa Beef Expo. Last year we sold two heifers in the Maternal Legend’s sale out of 2652 and they brought $10,000 and $20,000 respectively. We could go on and on. The point is, no matter what we mate 2652 too, she consistently kicks out good ones. 105D is just another example.

Even the embryo Remington Secret Weapon Hook’s Broadway 11B - ref sire - ref sire customers are having success like Brandon Luebbue with his red heifer he exhibited at the Iowa State Fair, which will sell at the New Direction sale.
