reetings cattle breeders, and welcome to the third edition of

the DreamWorks Elite Female Sale. Another unforgettable year in the cattle business has come and gone, and it is with great pleasure that we invite you back to Decorah to select from another outstanding sale offering. Up for your appraisal once again is a group of highly productive bred heifers, as well as open show prospects sorted from the very top end of our calf crop, highlighted by a pair of champions that have already proven themselves in the showring.

At NFF we firmly believe that surrounding yourself with quality

people will have a profound and positive impact on your level of success. For that reason we have enlisted the services of Graham Blagg and his team at Innovation AgMarketing. We feel that this new partnership with the nation’s premier seedstock marketing firm will not only add value to the investment our customers are making at DreamWorks, but will also help us reach out to new customers across the country so that their herds may benefit from our genetics as well.

Whether you’ve been following our story these last two years or

you’re looking through our salebook for the first time we hope that several principles make themselves immediately obvious. The first is uncompromising quality. In each of these three sales we have

Nelson Family Farms

made available to the public the very best stock our program has to offer. Nothing is held back. In keeping with that tradition this year

www.nelsoncattle.com

at DreamWorks the Reserve Champion Female from the MN State Fair Angus ROV Show as well as the Reserve Champion Simmental & Reserve Supreme Female from the MN Beef Expo will each walk through the sale ring and leave for new homes. Equally important are sensible management practices. These females have been raised with strict health protocols and quality nutrition. Furthermore they have been managed for longevity. Our top priority is that they go on to have long and productive careers for our customers.

As always we will be selling each and every female in her entirety.

It is our policy that when you purchase a female at DreamWorks you are getting full possession and every future embryo she carries, no strings attached. Lastly, there is nothing we take more seriously than customer service. We look forward to hearing from you. If we can be of assistance getting ready for a show, or with breeding, nutrition, or anything in between please do not hesitate to contact us.

Our cattle are always on display and you’re welcome to come

for a visit anytime. Over our many years in this business it has been a great privilege to watch our customers become friends, and for some of those friends to grow as close as family. That is a list we are very excited to add to tonight. Thank you for your interest in our program, and the DreamWorks Elite Female Sale .

What a way to start off the 2019 edition of the Dream Works offering with none other than NFF Snowball G251, the reigning Minnesota Beef Expo Reserve Grand Champion Simmental and Reserve Supreme Overall Breeds! Jass On The Mark 69D has evolved as one of the elite sons of the great W/C Loaded Up 119Y. The dam of this stunning March born Purebred female is the iconic NFF Snowball Y062 matron, the staple of our donor pen. Juliana Wise of Decorah, Iowa campaigned G251 to this coveted title where several hundred head of junior heifers walked through the ring at the Minnesota State Fair. Snowball Y062 continues to generate at the highest levels with unrivaled consistency. G251 is flawless in her basic build, smooth joined, tremendous in her angles, robust in her center body, and offers a bullet proof look of balance. Many that have been through the offering have agreed that G251 is one of the elite Simmental females to sell in North America this fall, and we are excited to offer this female for your appraisal on December 6, 2019 in Decorah, Iowa!

Sleek made, attractive, and futuristic in her basic build.

These are just a few of the ways we like to describe one of the most unique Purebred females in the entire offering. Red hided cattle of this quality are tough to create, and when the stars align and the perfect blaze face comes as an added bonus, the excitement is difficult to contain. NFF Snowball Y062 is the donor dam to this March show heifer prospect and is without question the foundation of our program. Be sure to have this red head on your short list sale day in Decorah!

NFF Snowball G129 comes to us from the hottest and most consistent sire group in the country. W/C Relentless 32C took the business by storm this summer during the AJSA Summer Classic in Louisville, Kentucky where he sired the Grand, Reserve Grand, and Fifth Overall Purebred Simmental females. He sired as many class winners, division and reserve division champions, and put more females in the top 20 then any other Purebred sire option. This female and her sister combine the influence of the great 8543U matron, producing in excess of $8 Million in progeny sales with the impact of NFF Snowball Y062. Cow power lines her pedigree!

NFF Wicked G177 is the donor prospect of the offering and there is simply no denying the mass, volume, capacity, and shear density that this red hided Purebred female offers. She is sired by the Steel Force x 770P stud known as Big Deal, the late herd sire for Mid Continent Farms, Oak Ridge, Bellar, and Wesner. Her dam

RCC-NFF Wicked - reference granddam

is from the potent NFF Wicked W9039 tribe that has contributed so much for outfits across the country. This is the same cow line that produced Wicked B125, a leading donor for Ruby and Shipwreck that continues to produce five-figure progeny and show ring champions, including the Reserve Grand Simmental Female at both the Houston and San Antonio Junior Heifer Shows. If a powerful, massive design Red head is what you’re hunting to campaign and then implement into your program as a foundation building breeding piece, then here is your girl on December 6!

Without question this trio of sisters may very well be from the most consistent and proven mating on the farm, and if one isn’t enough to convince you of this status, then three surely will! We are excited to introduce to you G295, G282, and G045 from the famed W/C Relentless 32C x NFF Lady A193 mating that produced the 2018 Wisconsin State Fair Supreme Champion Female Overall Breeds! In the inaugural sale this mating averaged just a shot under $10,000 a round and produced NFF Lady E134, the $16,000 female that cut a wide swath on the show circuit, being named Supreme Grand Champion or Reserve Supreme Grand Champion female 7 different times for the Walsh Brothers of Wisconsin. G295 is the first of these sisters and without a doubt one of the uniquely interesting three-quarter blood females we have ever raised. She is massive in her foot and bone work, wide based, big hipped, wide pinned, and when set in motion handles her spine and topline with comfort. Her presence is second to none, with a quality look of balance.

NFF Lady G311 is the fourth sister from the NFF Lady A193 matron. A193 is the dam of the 2018 Wisconsin State Fair Supreme and is a daughter of Ruby Yukon Y108, the Built Right x Rhythm 418P stud. This blaze faced beauty has “the look” that is necessary to be a force on the tan bark, yet still is backed by the potent cow family to offer consistent production success. If you’re in the market for a March Percentage show heifer prospect to haul to Grand Island for the 2020 AJSA Summer Classic, then this female deserves a hard look!

This January prospect is the one that we have admired since day one due to her overwhelming mass and capacity. She is big footed, stout boned, wind pinned, and offers the makings of a big-league brood cow. Sure, she may not be as refined and extended about her head, neck, and shoulder set, but what she offers past this point is second to none! A three-dimensional body type, with true hip and pin width has become a thing of yesteryear in winning show heifers, but in our opinion it takes this type of female with this type of dimension in order to create and generate the next generation of seedstock. A powerful Relentless daughter with unlimited upside!

When Kevin Benes of Gateway Genetics paraded Pay The Price onto the hill the second time at the National Western it was at that point we decided that he was a must use sire for A24. His flawless structural build, near perfect silhouette, and undeniable presence was hard to deny. He dominated the Purebred show, as many astute cattlemen claimed him as the best bull at the 2018 National Western Stock Show, regardless of breed. This female resembles her sires structural build in the way she sets down on her lower joints, operated out of her front skeleton, and handles her hip and hind leg with true authority. Her density and body mass is to be accredited to her dominant donor dam. This female is one of the favorites of early visitors and we certainly can’t argue with that sort of logic! One that we believe will be on many short lists Friday night in Decorah!

With great enthusiasm and pleasure we welcome you to the 2019 edition of Dream Works! The

www.InnovationAgMarketing.com

opportunity to do business with one of the truly great beef cattle families is yours for the taking on December 6th.

The Nelson Family is, has been, and will be doing business in the beef industry for many more

years and generations. To say they have skin in the game would be an understatement. They feed, hedge, background, breed, trade, and commission cattle daily. They have had success in all aspects of the commercial and seedstock business, they KNOW the entire business and there would be a minimal and exclusive crowd that do what the Nelsons do.

Their most recent

accomplishments in the seedstock/show heifer world would be raising the 2019 NWSS Grand Champion Angus female, T/R NFF Princess E307, that was campaigned by the Nowatzke family, as well as, NFF T/R Ellen F181, the division Champion female at the 2019 National Junior Angus show this summer for the Mayer family, as well as several repeat customers with multiple successes at every level of competition!

Gabe and Kayla Chase, oversee the registered side of the Nelson operation. Both had much

success during their youth and are passionate about the exhibition of their product. They maintain relationships with each of their families and provide assistance whenever called upon to do so. When you buy one for your child or invest in a bred female at Dream Works, you invest in a program and your future. The Chase family understands this as well as anybody and want to provide the best possible experience for everyone.

Consider this your open invitation to join us Friday evening for an exciting offering from a great

family and operation. If you are unable to attend in person, CCI.Live will provide a live broadcast with real-time bidding. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact any of the sale staff to visit about the offering!

Enjoy the cattle,

This female has the capabilities to be a big-league Angus show heifer and has already proven her capabilities this summer at the Minnesota State Fair, where she was crowned Reserve Grand Champion Angus Female of the open show. Her sire, Colburn Primo 5153 needs no introduction as one of the dominant AI sires the breed has ever known, and without a doubt the most impactful First Class son available to the public. The dam of this female is sired by SCC First-N-Goal GAF 114 and has made her mark as a dominant producer of elite Angus cattle. The Mayer family does a tremendous job in preparing cattle for show and have been loyal customers and even better friends for several years. Caroline has campaigned several females over the years that have gone onto find great success at every level of competition, yet we believe that this female may rank among the very elite that have ever been led by this young lady. A proven show Champion already with a bright future on the horizon‌the guess work is done, here is your fast track to success in the Angus show ring!

G057 is the full sister to G046, the 2019 Minnesota State Fair Reserve Grand Champion Angus Female for the Mayer family. This flush sister offer similar characteristics from the standpoint of her basic build, body shape, and show ring look. As an individual this powerful January prospect is massive in her rib shape, stout boned, wide based, and offers the look of not only a high class show heifer, but most importantly a productive, foundation building Angus donor prospect. This pair of females comes to Decorah from a potent flush from the RTM Diamond Duchess A308 matron that was a many time champion on the tan bark for Caroline Mayer, and we believe they will have no issue following in her footsteps!

NFF WB Frontier Gal G244 is a captivating Angus female that we believe has the credential to be a big-league show heifer and donor when her time at the end of a leather lead comes to an end. Her pedigree is lined with Angus matrons of great significance within the business and her phenotype suggests she will one day join that list. Her dam is the $40,000 sale feature from the Express Ranches Honor Role sale in 2015 that traces to the great WCC Frontier Gal 39, argued as one of the most important females in the Express Ranches program. Sired by Rountable and influenced by sires such as PVF Insight, and Dameron First Class there is simply no denying the elite pedigree that supports G244. A true sale feature and an absolute must see on December 6th if you’re a serious Angus enthusiast!

RTM/C-F Juana Penney F001 is a powerful bred heifer by the late WLE Big Deal A617 and backed by the RTM Juana Penney C507 matron that was a past Champion Angus Female at the Minnesota State Fair. This female offers unparalleled body mass, shear dimension, and a balanced brood cow look from every angle. Her pin width, stoutness of hip, and upper rib cage is second to none, while still maintaining a strong maternal look of fleshing ease and practicality. Her teat structure and udder development indicate that this female will freshen with an unbelievable udder design. She is safe in calf to the calving ease super star for the Griswold Cattle Company program, GSC GCCO Dew North, with a heifer calf baby on the way!

This striking baldy female represents a mating that has been proven time after time within the beef cattle industry. The Triple Crown winning MR HOC Broker has become one of the most consistent and dominant sires the breed has EVER known, and when mated to productive Angus cows the results never cease to amaze. F182 is backed by an Ochsner bred dam that is big centered, sound build, and always brings a big calf to the weaning pen. This baldy female is elegant in her basic design through her front third, big footed, stout boned, and balanced with a three-dimensional look. She sells with a heifer calf on board by the popular Dew North stud. There are no guarantees in life, but we’d sure bet on this calf being a baldy!

ZKCC Easy Rider and Lo-Boy were our selections from

Kraenow Cattle Co. They are the Pilgrim influenced sons of the full sister to the legend, ZKCC Chopper. The maternal power and balance of pedigree, curb appeal, and longevity are all inclusive in the stock sired by these two full brothers. The 824 donor dam has as much impact in the entire offering as any one cow and when you line it up, it’s our opinion that it only gets better. The maternal granddam of this offering of bred cattle is one that was admired by many in her early years and brought the Kraenow program to the forefront. They NFF Cover Girl F061

Battle Cry is the most notable son of the Ruby power donor, Yetti 143Y. Nate and Leslie have established a program based on proven successful cow families that are exclusive and few in number. Yetti would be one of those primary cows that influences the lion share of the program along with 418P. Battle Cry was the lead bull in a Denver champion pen and sold for over $35,000 through The One. He has become the choice son of Broker that is homozygous black and homozygous polled. He makes them so stellar and cool in their head and neck and they are complete in rib shape and muscle. He continues to work year in and year out in Murray and across the country. Nelson Family Farms is proud to have partnered with the Ruby Family over the years and we feel that this sire group of breds offers a ton of future profitability and could improve any program. The influence of the great Blackstar and Rhythm 418P only ensures that statement to lead to truth. The longevity is stacked in this section’s favor without question.

The Legendary cattle have turned heads of many over the past couple of years. Early on, breeders treaded lightly with much hesitation. His near outcross pedigree brought folks to the table in the beginning and now, nearly three years later, he will be one of the heaviest used bulls in the 2019/2020 breeding seasons. His walking service influences the Moriondo Farms program of Missouri. His first breeding age sons will be highlights in their upcoming bull sale. Those cattle have extra shape, length, and tremendous post weaning gains. Legendary is the sire of the 2020 Embryos on Snow headliner, Berwick, that will in turn be one of the few, most sought after bulls in the breed, further proving the breeding value of his service. There will be more to come over the next few years from Legendary.

GNB Popeye would be another herdsire that has always done the job we thought he would do, maintaining quality, and balance that would be indicative of his pedigree. The Ranch Hand influence within the breed never really took off, but over time many have noticed that a lot of those daughters remained in a lot of programs for many years and have raised some top end cattle. The Dual Focus sire group is one in the same with udder quality, type and balance in mind. Popeye’s most significant positive might be the fact that he traces back to the once dominant Arnold Brothers program. Tim Ohlde rebuilt his Simmental influence with Arnold Brother cows and those daughters and descendants still work and look amazing today in production. Keep in mind the preferred influence of the Dew North sire group throughout this set of breds, with many carrying his service. NFF Snowball F262

This trio of females are full sisters to the 2018 High Selling Angus open heifer calf that was purchased a year ago for $20,000 by Julianna Wise of Decorah, Iowa. These females are supported by the influence of the great C&C Blackcap 4002, a massive bodied, good build, attractive daughter of EXAR Denver and backed by the potent Blackcap tribe. These females are attractive, big centered, powerful, and loaded with mass from end to end. We have always admired the basic build, three-dimensional look, and overall presence that this flush of sisters offers. F071 is a sensibly sized, big centered, good footed female that is balanced, stout, and modern in her look. F202 is big boned, stout pinned, wide bodied, and poses with a brood cow look. F185 is the attractive, refined featured, bold centered, easy keeping female that is hard to ignore. She is safe to the popular Eathington Sub Zero stud with a heifer calf pregnancy due in January. Rest assured of the productivity and longevity that these foundation Angus females will offer!

S&R Roundtable J328 has evolved as one of the most influential sires when utilized back on First Class daughters and that mating has been proven time after time by outfits like Express Ranches. The females by Roundtable in this year’s offering bring forth the right amount of body mass, dimension, and maternal capacity. They are backed by generations of proven, hardworking cow families that raise big calves, offer a quality look of balance, and added longevity. This set of Roundtable daughters all sell safe in calf to S S Great Northern H52, a proven heifer bull that is influenced by Hoover Dam and ranks among the elite 1% of the breed for CED with a +17 and among the top 1% of the breed for BW with a -4.7 BW EPD. He is a big spread bull that stretches to over 110 at a year, while charting top 2% for $G and top 1% $B. This herd sire has done an exceptional job in our program and we are confident in the convenience of his calving ease capabilities on first time heifers!
