Terms of Sale All cattle will sell under the Suggested Terms and Conditions of the American Simmental Association. All purchases are to be paid for by the purchaser during or immediately after the sale and will not be released until after settlement has been made. Sale Registration and Payment All buyer numbers will only be issued with a valid ID and payment is due day of sale. DP Sales Management, LLC accepts Visa, Mastercard, check, e-check, or cash. All purchases are expected to be paid for day of sale unless arrangements have been made with sale management. Cattle will not be transferred until paid for in full. Purchases made through internet bidding follow the same terms. Payment must be completed on day of sale by credit card or e-check. Registration Certificates Cattle will be transferred to the buyer at the seller’s expense. All calves born before the sale are to be registered by the seller; calves born after the sale are to be registered by the purchaser. Buyers must be sure to furnish the sale clerk complete information for transferring of registration certificates. On behalf of the North Carolina Simmental Association and DP Sales Management, I would like to take this opportunity to invite each of you to the North Carolina “Fall Harvest” sale on Saturday, September 5th at 1:00 in Union Grove, North Carolina. The Fall Harvest will be at the Shuffler sale facility in Union Grove. Dr Shuffler has always provided a great place to have the sale and rolls out the red carpet. If you have been to the sale you are aware of the overall organization and hospitality. The North Carolina Simmental Association sales have been long time running and this is the 46th annual sale. We hate what is going on with the virus however we will be social distancing and taking the necessary steps to stay in the guidelines for everyone’s safety. Over the years the sale has experienced many things such as 9-11, several hurricanes, gas shortages, bad markets and different matters that affect the sale. As cattlemen and farmers we will overcome with this as well. The Association and its leadership and consignors over the years are to be commended for their support and dedication to the breed. Just think of all the Simmental history in the state of North Carolina. Come and visit about the past and help make plans for the future. Let’s all show support of the state association and continue to make Simmental one of the strongest breeds in North Carolina. This is the memberships sale so I encourage everyone to pull together to make this the best ever. Anyone will be impressed with the available genetics in this year’s sale. This year we have several new consignors and many which have been involved for several years. We have consignments from North Carolina and other states. Each year we have a lot of new faces to the sale and this year we have had several new breeders inquire about the sale offering. I challenge each member to invite old members and new potential breeders to this enjoyable sale event. Anyone that has attended in the past remembers the great sale atmosphere and the solid group of sale cattle. This year the schedule has been changed with the short annual meeting on Saturday am and lunch prior to the sale. Again, a special “Thank You” to Jennie Rucker, the executive secretary of North Carolina Simmental and the directors of your association. Each year the association has taken small steps in improving the sale and your association. Another first for North Carolina, Cara Smith is the new AJSA President and she will be on hand sale. We are proud of her plus her leadership ability. She was selected by peers the junior board. This year’s sale offering is backed by a bunch of dedicated consignors. The offering includes a solid set of bred heifers, several top notch open purebreds and a great set of SimAngus. The pairs and bred cows offered will put your program in the profit picture. The Simmental business is good with a strong demand for Simmental bulls and Simmental influenced feeder cattle. The best and most important thing is the customer satisfaction from past buyers across the country from their Fall Harvest purchases. It didn’t take long after we viewed the Stars and Stripes catalog and found SSC Sweet N Me Up. 217F and her Pays To Believe heifer had friends that day and was the second high seller. Sweet N Me Up is a daughter of Sweet Emotion and her grand mother is JM Steel My Heart. Sweet N Me Up’s full sister sold for 1/3 interest for $30,000 to Wheatland Cattle Co. We have been watching all the family members for years and feel blessed to acquire such a sought after individual. The best thing she was able to be flushed shortly after the sale and go along great so we decided to offer a pregnancy by Something About Mary. I think this son of Proud Mary will be a hit as well.
