On behalf of the North Carolina Simmental Association and DP Sales Management, I would like to take this opportunity to invite each of you to the North Carolina “Fall Harvest” sale on Saturday, September 3rd at 12:00 in Union Grove, North Carolina. The Fall Harvest will be a the Shuffler sale facility in Union Grove. Dr Shuffler has a excellent sale facility with a nice auction arena, grass lots, inside pens, and a great place for the other sale related events. The North Carolina Simmental Association sales have long time running with sales since 1974. The Association was formed in 1973 and the first sale in 1974, wow 42 years of sales. Come and visit about the past and help make plans for the future. Lets all show support of the state association and make Simmental one of the strongest breeds in North Carolina. This is the memberships sale so I encourage everyone to pull together to make this the best ever. Anyone will be impressed with the available genetics in this years sale. This year we have several new consignors and many which have been involved for several years. This year we have consignments from North Carolina and 5 other states. Each year we have a lot of new faces to the sale and this year we have had several new breeders inquire about the sale offering. I challenge each member to invite old members and new potential breeders to this enjoyable sale event. Anyone that has attended in the past remembers the great sale atmosphere and the solid group of sale cattle. If you have not attended in the past years, the dinner, annual meeting, and the fun auction please add it to your plans. Again, a special “Thank You” to Jennie Rucker, the executive secretary of North Carolina Simmental and the directors of your association. Each year the association has taken small steps in improving the sale and your association. Everyone is welcome the night before and we encourage all the consignors to attend. Come you won’t be disappointed. This years sale offering probably is the best set ever. Just study the bred heifers in this catalog. The consignors are definitely offering their best. The offering includes a solid set of bred heifers, several top notch open purebreds and a great set of SimAngus. This year the offering includes a strong set of productive cows. The pairs and bred cows offered will put your program in the profit picture. The herd bulls are ready to go and are of top quality. The Simmental business is good with a strong demand for Simmental bulls and Simmental influenced feeder cattle. The best and most important thing is the customer satisfaction from past buyers across the country from their Fall Harvest purchases. Come and view the offering and be a part of the North Carolina sale weekend. Please don’t hesitate to call any of the consignors involved in this sale. Also, if Drew Hatmaker, or myself can be of any assistance please feel free to call anytime. We encourage you to attend and be a part of this positive Simmental event. Remember to come the night before the sale for the activities and stay for the sale on Saturday. See you in the Hamptonville area and at the sale site in Union Grove. Last years sale cattle sold to North Carolina and twelve other states so if anyone needs trucking to any location it will be available. Also, if you cannot attend please utilize DV Auction on the sale.

She is only being sold because we have retained outstanding daughters, and we want to sell our best. This cow family has produced many champions and high sellers for Dickson Farms. She is clean in her lines and sleek fronted. She has a pedigree that provides a lot of opportunities for different matings. She is a cow worthy of flushing, but we never had the opportunity to. Buckeye is extremely gentle and halter broke. Her mating with Bandwagon has the potential to produce a great one and she will still look good doing it! • Bred AI to CSCX Bandwagon 513A, ASA#2757819 on 6/2/16 North Carolina

She comes straight from the Sheza Dandy cow family that never fails to impress. It is hard to part with cows from the heart of the herd but we have committed to Doug on selling our best. It was an easy choice for us to mate this long, big ribbed, soggy Built Right daughter to Wide Track. The results from this flush have been exactly what we had in mind, feminine, long spined, big middled attractive females. This trio of sisters will keep any cattlemen in business for many years. C546 is an extra fancy fall that will soon be ready to mate to the bull of your choice. C516 & C524 come to you serviced to the popular CCR Santa Fe for spring calves. • Selling 3 IVF embryos guaranteeing 1 pregnancy if work is performed by a certified embryologist. • If you want some dependable genetics that have been proven time and time again, first study the cow card and look up some of the sons and daughters and then buy some embryos out of NJC Lexus. We purchased the baldie donor Lexus from Sunset View and Wind Rose and she continues to past on stout genetics. This cow has many great daughters running the country however a few note notable are Amazon, Thriller, Mercedes, and Rubys Wicked Woman. You can select from purebred genetics or the Sim Angus sired by Basic Instinct. Those cows are awesome and some of my favorites. Select embryos from Yellowstone, Broadway, Basic Instinct and the CSCX Bandwagon. Good genetics never go out of style.

• This one has club calf mama wrote all over her. This tight throat-ed Sim-Angus looks so much like JSAR Miss Doc which we considered the nicest made Angus cow we ever had an opportunity to own. I have 2 older full sibs to this heifer in production. One of those raised a frontier bull calf that is a fancy as you can ask for. The fact is she will produce great calves down the road. Buy this one and vistors will pick her out and ask “what is that one?”just like folks did her Dam when they came to our farm. Don’t be critical to the way we bred her. This long Bodied massive bull we chose will be fine mated with this type and kind. Easy calving too! • Bred AI to Leachman Caddilac, ASA#2760758 on 4/19/16

• The most important genetic attribute of Dual Focus and his son, HY Dul are their daughters. They are smaller in frame size with massive middles and capacity, large but perfectly made udders and are proving to be one of our favorite sire group of daughters in the herd. We feel B114 HY Dul is a “breeder” quality bull for the producers looking for a low birth weight, high calving ease prospect for use on heifers and still ranking in the top 25% for YW, top 15% for ADG, top 15% for REA, top 45% API, and top 45% TI. We develop our bulls on the daily fed total mix ration (TMR) by grinding our own roughage mix with distillers grain and corn gluten by products. We feed the TMR in bunks in a pasture setting so the bulls get plenty of exercise and develop at a reasonable rate of gain. This eliminates the big adjustment back to forage so the bull will work for you for the long run. North Carolina
